The personnel that wishes to enter the Navy of Nigeria must meet the following requirements:
- National Examination Council (NECO) General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level
- West African School Certificate (WASC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects; or
- You must have either Sc, HND, NCE, OND in any discipline from a recognized institution in Nigeria
- You must have four (4) passes credits including English Language in Either WAEC/NECO or GCE subjects.
- You National Diploma (ND) certificate should be obtained from a recognized institution in Nigeria and accredited by NUC of Nigeria. National Certificate of Education (NCE) holders are also enjoined to follow suits (same criteria’s applicable to NCE Holders)
- Your WAEC/NECO or GCE should not exceed one or two sittings.
- You must Be a Nigerian citizen by birth or descent;
- You must own a certificate of fitness and must be fit for this job else you may be disqualified.
- Not suffering from any form of mental or physical disability; 10. You must Be free from any form of financial embarrassment;
- Be of good character and must not have been found guilty of any criminal offence;
- Sight problem; Hearing difficulties; Previous major orthopaedic operation; Flat foot; Fracture, stammering or any other natural disability by candidates will be automatically disqualified.
