Horse racing tips: Templegate’s complete race-by-race guide to the blockbuster Leopardstown action on Saturday

WITH racing cancelled in Britain on Saturday as a mark of respect for The Queen, Templegate looks to the action in Ireland.

Our man goes through every race from Leopardstown below and reveals his best fancy.

1.30

KAYHANA made a nice start when winning on debut at Limerick last time.

She picked up nicely and didn’t have to hit top gear. She is bred to like some cut in the ground and can take a fair step forward for Dermot Weld.

Zarinsk tripped coming out of the stalls in the Silver Flash here and has had a little break since.

She won her maiden nicely at The Curragh before a solid run in a Group 2 there so has some quality.

Library hasn’t been asked too many questions so far but had plenty in hand when getting off the mark at Tipperary 15 days ago.

This daughter of Galileo will have no issue with the conditions.

Easy was impressive over 5f at Cork and should have a lot more to offer upped in distance.

She’s moved yards since and looks a nice prospect.

Ma Belle Artiste scored on debut here and improved on that when second at Rosommon. She needs more but is capable of better.

CURRENT OPTION comes here on a high after winning in a big field at the Galway Festival for the third time.

He is best over this distance with cut in the ground and has winning form around here too. He’s a solid each-way shout in a wide-open race.

Rhoscolyn is another who likes this in-between trip and was beaten in a bunch finish at Goodwood two Saturdays ago.

The horse that beat him that day – I’m A Gambler – is in this field too having held his own in a Group 3 contest just a day later.

He is another in with a shout.

Markaz Paname is likely to be pretty short after winning the Gladness Stakes at The Curragh last time.

That built on a good handicap success at Naas and he has more to come as a three-year-old.

Pierre Lapin ran well in the Irish Cambridgeshire last time and he’ll be doing his best work at the finish.

SERIOUS CHALLENGE loved soft ground when winning a shade cosily at Galway last time.

He had that race in the bag a long way out and warrants a try in this stronger grade.

Auguste Rodin looks a major threat after he got off the mark at Naas last time.

That was an improved effort from his Curragh debut when he was beaten at odds-on. He’s proven on soft and will relish this extra furlong even if he is a short price.

Fellow O’Brien runner Tower Of London didn’t have a lot to beat on debut here in July but did it nicely.

Ryan Moore has got off him but there won’t be much between the two Godolphin hopefuls.

Alder dug deep to strike at Killarney after a fair Curragh run on debut. He’s bred for a bit further than this and may find things happening a little quickly.

Caroline Street travelled well for a long way in a Curragh Group 3 last time but found little inside the final furlong.

She’ll need to improve on that here.

THUNDER KISS takes a fair drop in class here after going down by just over two lengths in the Pretty Polly Stakes at The Curragh.

She finished strongly there and moving back up to 1m4f looks a wise move.

She started this season with a soft-ground Listed success and she comes here a fresh horse after a 76-day break.

Point King has been in excellent form and made it three wins on the spin over further here last month.

He looks a nice prospect and travels strongly so this drop in distance shouldn’t be a big issue.

Earl Of Tyrone was a length third in the Ebor at York latest which is strong form.

He was a Listed winner over this distance at Limerick before that and is sure to run his race again.

Beamish was a solid Group 3 third here last time and deserves another crack at this level, although he’s likely to find a couple too good again.

VADENI got the better of Mishriff by a neck when they clashed in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown in July.

He was landing his second Group 1 success there having blitzed a big field in the French Derby by an impressive five lengths.

The three-year-old has scope for loads of improvement and should have no problem handling soft ground.

Mishriff is respected but he has been well beaten at Royal Ascot and in the Juddmonte International at York since meeting his younger rival.

Those battles may have taken a toll on the Gosden star.

Luxembourg finished last season winning the Futurity Trophy in Doncaster mud and performed with credit when third on comeback in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket.

He suffered an injury that kept him out of the Derby before returning for a gutsy neck success in the Royal Whip at The Curragh last month.

He will have needed that and is the main danger to the French raider.

Onesto was fifth to Vadeni at Chantilly but came good at the highest level when winning the Grand Prix De Paris at Longchamp.

He came home like a train there so dropping in trip may not be ideal but he has more to come.

JADOOMI missed most of 2021 and has been making up for lost time since returning earlier this summer.

He kicked off with a good Listed success in France before leaving that form behind to win the Celebration Mile at Goodwood last month.

He battled well there on ground that was a bit lively for him and Team Crisford are finishing the season in good form.

It’s asking a lot for Just Beautiful to score after a year off but she’s respected.

She was last seen winning a Group 3 at Doncaster over 7f but this mile should be ideal.

The ground’s a slight worry as she has performed well in firm conditions.

Boundless Ocean did well to score over this course and distance last month as a slightly longer trip would be ideal.

He is progressing nicely for Jim Bolger and is right in the hunt again.

Raadobarg was fourth behind him last time, beaten fair and square, so has a few questions to answer now.

Glounthaune has not shown a lot for Aidan O’Brien this season and struggled in a Curragh Listed contest last time.

HOMELESS SONGS hasn’t run since her smooth five-length success in the Irish 1,000 Guineas but that means she’s nice and fresh heading here.

She showed her liking for this track when taking a Group 3 on comeback before that blistering Classic effort.

Her record is good after a break and she’ll take all the beating.

Saffron Beach got the job done nicely in the Duke Of Cambridge at Royal Ascot before stepping into this grade for a good win at Deauville last month.

She goes on any ground and looks a big threat.

Pearls Galore looks a decent price to bag third place despite being no match for her in France last time.

She has winning form here and the first-time cheekpieces could help.

Tenebrism was impressive when winning the Jean Prat in France over 7f but may have been a little stretched by this trip when second to Saffron Beach latest.

She has a little gap to bridge with the others.

DUTCH SCHULTZ was a typical hard-luck story at Galway when tanking along in a big handicap only to have the door slammed in his face.

He did well to run on into third after that and a 3lb rise in the weights is fair.

La Hacienda is in excellent form and is looking for a hat-trick after wins at Galway and Killarney.

She has plenty of stamina so will have no problem getting home.

Baby Zeus is another coming off a good run at Galway with Tom Marquand taking over on the Willie Mullins hope.

He is likes this trip and looks on a fair weight.

Dancila is consistent and scored here last month. She’s already run twice since and went from the front to score again at Roscommon. She’s in the mix for Jim Bolger.

Jesse Evans could be ahead of the handicapper on the Flat after a solid Bellewstown run last time.
