In the early kickoff, Alex Iwobi played the full ninety for the fourth consecutive game as Everton defeated Manchester United 1-0 at Goodison Park, thanks to Anthony Gordon’s deflected effort in the 27th minute.

The  Super Eagles midfielder, who was very impressive, laid the ball off to Gordon and his shot deflected off Harry Maguire and into the net.

At Vicarage Road, goals from Raphinha, Rodrigo and Jack earned Leeds United a 3-0 win over relegation-threatened Watford.

The Hornets were forced into a fist half change with Emmanuel Dennis replacing the injured Juan Hernandez.

William Troost-Ekong and Oghenekaro Etebo were left out of the matchday squad and Samuel Kalu was a non-playing substitute.

Nathan Tella was an unused substitute for Southampton as they suffered a 6-0 humiliation at the hands of Chelsea at St Mary’s Stadium.

The world champions had a 4-0 lead at halftime thanks to goals from Marcos Alonso, Mason Mount, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, before further goals from Werner and Mount in the second half.

Arsenal missed the chance to get back into the top four after a shock 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove at the Emirates Stadium in London, their third defeat in the last four top-flight matches.

Miguel Azeez, having trained with the first team for most part of the week, received his second call-up for a Premier League game but was a non-playing substitute while Seagulls central defender Odel Offiah made the mathcday squad for the third time this season without getting minutes.

Leandro Trossard fired a first time strike from 12 yards out to open the scoring in the 29th minute and Enock Mwepu hammered a half volley into the bottom corner to double the advantage midway through the second half.

Martin Odegaard pulled a goal back a minute from time to set up a nervy ending to the game but the Gunners were unable to find an equaliser, a serious blow to their top four ambitions.

In the late kickoff, Carney Chukwuemeka is on the bench for Aston Villa against Tottenham Hostpur at Villa Park.
