Brian Laundrie update – Gabby Petito sleuths analyze what could be in notebook as autopsy to be revealed soon

BRIAN Laundrie’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed, weeks after his bones were located at Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, and sleuths appear convinced that the fugitive’s notebook will provide insight into his fiancée’s death.

Laundrie’s remains have been given to a forensic anthropologist to be inspected, and his cause of death is expected to be determined by the end of November.

It’s unknown if authorities will release Laundrie’s cause of death to the public, but some sleuths think he may have been eaten after “alligator bones” seem to have been spotted near where his bones were located.

Meanwhile, despite the contents of Laundrie’s notebook not yet being revealed, a friend of Brian’s told The Sun in an exclusive interview that the notebook could contain clues to solve Gabby Petito’s death, whom a medical coroner determined had died due to strangulation.

Criminologist Casey Jordan said a notebook “pointed to the possibility” of a suicide note, 7News reports.

Gabby Petito was last seen on August 24, 2021, checking out of a hotel with Brian in Salt Lake City, Utah and she was reported missing on September 11 by her mother after Brian returned home without her on September 1.

On September 19, 2021, authorities in Wyoming announced a body was found in the area where the search for Gabby had been underway.

  • WHAT DID GABBY’S DAD JOE PETITO SAY AT HER FUNERAL, CONTINUED

“And she’s inspired a lot of women and a lot of men to do what’s best for them first. Put yourself first and do it now while you have the time. I couldn’t be more proud as a father,” he added.

Joe also warned women in toxic relationships to “leave now” so that way this tragedy does not happen to them.

Just days after, the family then held a press conference, where Nicole showed off matching tattoos that were designed by Gabby prior to her death.

On October 3, 2021, Gabby’s family announced that they had launched the Gabby Petito Foundation in honor of their late daughter.

On September 26, the family held a memorial service for Gabby to lay her to rest following the autopsy results.

  • BRIAN LAUNDRIE BUFFET, CONTINUED

The pictures were shared in several Gabby Petito Facebook groups, sparking a flurry of both positive and negative comments.

One person asked: “Did your kid have fun? That’s all the matters! I think it’s very creative.”

Another commented: “It’s funny for Halloween but idt that’s a great theme for a first birthday. She might look back on that when she is older and be like wtf (sic).”

However, the theme of the birthday party was also slammed by some furious users online.

One posted: “I could understand the skeleton/Halloween theme but trying to poke fun of a situation like Gabby and Brian’s is completely unacceptable.”

  • DAD THROWS BRIAN LAUNDRIE-THEMED BUFFET FOR DAUGHTER’S BIRTHDAY

A father threw a Brian Laundrie themed buffet party as he celebrated his daughter’s first birthday and uploaded photos on social media.

Pictures uploaded to Facebook show a skeleton lying on a table that’s been covered in pancetta.

Gummy worms appear to be in the skeleton’s eyeballs and mouth and there is a selection of cheese and crackers scattered on a black tablecloth.

The name “Brian Laundrie” was also written on a black chalkboard standing next to the skeleton.

Posting in an Aldi-themed Facebook group, Jack Bersch said: “We did this with Aldi food for my daughter’s first birthday.”

“If you don’t like it that’s fine. We all thought it was funny and I would understand if I’m no longer a part of this group tomorrow morning.”

  • OFFICIALS ‘ILLEGALLY’ CHARGED $3,000 IN FEES FOR VIDEO

Officials in the Utah city where Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie had an explosive domestic dispute have been accused of illegally collecting nearly $3,000 in fees for the distressing police bodycam footage of the incident.

The Moab Police Department are planning to return the fees collected from multiple media organizations featuring footage of the officers pulling over Gabby and her ex-fiancé Brian outside of Arches National Park.

The August 12 recordings showed the 22-year-old Gabby holding her neck and explaining to both Moab and park officers that her fiance Brian had “scratched and grabbed” her, causing the bruises – nearly a month before the woman was reported missing and later found dead.

  • SHERIFF SAYS BRIAN LIKELY KILLED HIMSELF

A Florida sheriff revealed that Brian likely took his own life, as authorities were desperately searching for the fugitive’s fiancé, Gabby Petito.

The Herald Tribune reported that Sarasota County Kurt Hoffman said Laundrie went out to the preserve ‘and by all accounts probably committed suicide.’

  • HOW LONG WAS BRIAN MISSING?

Laundrie vanished from his parents’ home on September 13, the family’s lawyer confirmed. Gabby’s remains were discovered in rural Wyoming on September 19.

On Thursday, September 23, the FBI issued a warrant for Laundrie’s arrest, claiming he “used unauthorized debit cards after Gabby Petito’s death.”

His remains were found on October 20 and identified on October 21, almost one month after the warrant for his arrest was issued.

  • LAUNDRIE PARENTS WERE ‘TORTURED’ BY PROTESTORS, SAYS LAWYER

Steven Bertolino, the lawyer representing Brian Laundrie’s parents, has told Insider that “they are being tortured in their own home by these protesters outside” as the public continues to linger around their property during the search for their fugitive son.”

Bertolino added that Chris and Roberta Laundrie were “being followed when performing basic tasks like food shopping” and that “and all of the foregoing is occurring when they have no idea whether their son is alive or not.”

  • BRIAN WAS ‘UPSET’ BEFORE HE LEFT PARENT’S HOME

Attorney Steve Bertolino shared the distraught mindset that Laundrie was in before he left home for his last time.

The attorney told NBC: “I can tell you Brian was very upset when he left. Chris conveyed to me several times he wished he wouldn’t have let him go but he couldn’t stop him.”

Brian’s remains, and articles belonging to Laundrie, were found in a stretch of land that had previously been submerged in floodwaters.

  • ADDITIONAL THEORIES ABOUT GUN IN FORT DE SOTO PARK

When one user asked if the gun had been used by Laundrie to take his own life, another person responded: “Perhaps somebody else shot him and disposed of it?”

They went on to write: “Perhaps it was Brian’s gun he had with him on their trip and he wanted to get rid it. Just think it’s interesting that a gun is disposed of where they camped.”

Another suggested: “I think if this is connected it was dropped after he came home from the trip and went with his family to camping here.”

  • WEB SLEUTHS THINK GUN IS CONNECTED TO GABBY’S MURDER

Brian Laundrie web sleuths are afraid a gun found weighted down in water by a fisherman could be connected to Gabby Petito’s murder.

Cops were called out to Foto De Soto Park, Florida, on Saturday after Christopher Sacco, 35, dredged out the black revolver, which was wrapped in a bag and secured to a rock with red and white twine, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Sacco and his friend had been fishing near a playground area at the park which Laundrie stayed at with his family back on September 6 and 7.

The weapon is now with Pinellas Country Sheriff’s Office.

The find sent sleuths on Twitter ablaze with theories that the weapon could have been used to kill Petito, or that someone had used it to kill Laundrie, with one user writing, “Fisherman finds weighted down gun in Fort De Soto #BrianLaundrie.”

  • BRIAN & ROBERTA MIX-UP MAY HAVE COST TAXPAYERS BIG TIME

Investigators confusing Brian Laundrie for his mother, Roberta, may be to blame for the extended search with a price tag of over $1.2million, which was estimated at the end of September.

The Laundrie family lawyer, Steve Bertolino, did not agree with the North Port Police Department spokesperson, Josh Taylor, who said Brian and Roberta are “kind of built similarly.”

“Everyone makes mistakes. But Brian and Roberta are not ‘built’ the same,” said Bertolino.

Bertolino went on to say that if the police had followed the Mustang and watched the park, where they issued a ticket on the vehicle, “it certainly would have prevented all of the false accusations leveled by so many against Chris and Roberta with respect to ‘hiding’ Brian or otherwise financing an ‘escape.’”

  • POLICE CONFUSED BRIAN’S MOTHER FOR HIM

In the days following Gabby’s reported disappearance, police were monitoring the Laundrie family home.

However, Brian slipped away from their watch, when investigators thought his mother was him.

“They are built kind of similarly,” said North Port Police Department spokesperson Josh Taylor to WINK News on Monday.

Police observed Brian driving away from the home in his Mustang, but believed he returned a few days later, when they saw his mother driving the vehicle back to the residence.

Taylor went on to say that Brian’s mother was wearing a baseball cap, which also led them to believe she was her son.

“Like, if you think your son’s missing since Tuesday, you’re going to bring his car back to the home — so, it didn’t make sense that anyone would do that if he wasn’t there. So, the individual getting out with a baseball cap, we thought was Brian,” said Taylor.

  • BRIAN’S DAD FOUND HIS ITEMS ‘WITHIN MINUTES’

Chris Laundrie found his son’s items within minutes after he and his wife Roberta began cooperating with police to find their fugitive son.

The Laundrie family lawyer Steven Bertolino told reporters that Brian’s parents had previously told authorities to search the area where they believed Brian to be – and where they found his belongings.

“Chris and Roberta Laundrie were at the reserve earlier today when human remains and some of Brian’s possessions were located in an area where they had initially advised law enforcement that Brian may be,” Bertolino said.

  • DID BRIAN LAUNDRIE HAVE A FUNERAL?

Through their attorney, Laundrie family revealed that they would be cremating their son’s ashes and forgoing a funeral.

His family left their homes in North Port on October 24 to grieve together in an undisclosed location in Florida.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie returned to their home on October 26.

  • SLEUTHS BELIEVE BRIAN WANTED TO CONVINCE PEOPLE HE WAS ‘INSANE’

Sleuths on the internet wildly claim that Brian Laundrie tried to convince the world he was “clinically insane” with his artwork and chilling messages.

Online “detectives” dug up a series of dark comic book drawings the 23-year-old made and had a lot to say about them.

One artwork posted to his Instagram page in July 2020 shows a skeleton that appears to have blood gushing from it, with the figure’s arms stretched outwards and the character seemingly screaming.

One sleuth claimed: “He’s just trying to make everyone he’s clinically insane. Truly he’s just a psychopath.”

Another posted: “This is so creepy, what a freak.”

  • ‘SHE SETTLED FOR HIM’

Livingston claimed he got to know Gabby because she would come to visit Laundrie a few times a week and that “she was always a sweetheart, very peaceful,” he told Fox News.

“She was always really nice to me, and she was really outgoing. Once I realize that the person who was missing was somebody I actually knew, it hit me like a tidal wave,” Livingston continued.

“I think the only reason why she settled for him is he wanted to travel.”

  • WAS THE KILLER’S DNA FOUND ON GABBY’S BODY?

Paul Belli, an ex-lieutenant of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, thinks Gabby’s killer could have left DNA on her body.

He told CNN: “You would expect DNA on either one of them from the other. But I mean, if there’s DNA maybe where it shouldn’t be, that could be kind of a clue as to what may have occurred.

“So there are ways to absolutely, at least get you to a point where you’re like ‘Ok this definitely makes sense, this is the person who did this crime.”

preliminary autopsy stated the manner of her death was homicide before coroners revealed her cause of death.

  • DID BRIAN HAVE A BURNER PHONE?

Authorities have not confirmed rumors about an alleged burner phone Laundrie purchased on the same day he went missing.

At the time, the Laundrie’s attorney, Steven Bertolino said it wasn’t a burner phone.

The FBI was allegedly looking into video footage at the AT&T store in North Port, Florida where Laundrie was believed to have purchased the phone.

“We’re not confirming or denying anything and we’re not making any statements, thank you, and have a great day,” the store said in a statement to The Sun on September 29.

  • YOUTUBER HAD ‘GOOSEBUMPS’ WHEN SHE FOUND PETITO’S VAN

The travel vloggers who managed to capture video of Gabby Petito’s van pulled off the side of a dirt road near Grand Teton National Park felt “goosebumps” when they realized they had passed the van on the side of the road.

Jenn Bethune recounted the moment when she and her husband happened to drive past Gabby’s white Ford Transit van that was “abandoned” on the roadside.

“We both got goosebumps all over our body,” Bethune said in an interview with ABC’s 20/20.

“We knew it was her van as soon as the footage passed by it.”

Gabby, 22, and her 23-year-old ex-fiance Brian Laundrie had decided to put off college and pool their cash together to buy and customize her white Ford Transit van.

They started their road trip on July 2 and planned to visit Portland, Oregon so they could spend time with a friend for Halloween.

  • LAUNDRIE FAMILY ATTORNEY INSISTS ‘NO DEAL WAS CUT’

Web sleuths have similarly speculated Laundrie’s parents “made a deal” with the FBI to reveal what they know about where the location of his body might be on the condition they were free from prosecution.

In a TV interview, Steven Bertolino, the lawyer for Laundrie’s family, said “conversations were had with respect to certain charges” insisted “no deal was cut” after claims were put to him.

But internet detectives believe there were “clearly negotiations” that they claim led to Laundrie’s parents telling authorities information related to where their son’s body was – in exchange for immunity from being prosecuted.

  • WHEN WERE BRIAN’S REMAINS FOUND?

Six days later, on Sept. 19, Gabby’s remains were found at a campsite near Grand Teton National Park.

A five-week nationwide search for Laundrie then ensued.

While he wasn’t named as a suspect in her death a warrant was issued for his arrest on allegations of bank fraud.

That search came to an end on October 20 after skeletal remains were found in Myakkahatchee Creek Park, which is adjacent to the Carlton Reserve, in Sarasota County, Florida.

  • WHEN DID BRIAN DISAPPEAR?

Brian quietly returned home to Florida alone on September 1, failing to alert police or Gabby’s family that she was missing.

Gabby was eventually reported missing by her mother in New York on September 11. That came after 10 days of allegedly being stonewalled by Brian and his parents about where her daughter was.

Brian then vanished himself on September 13, telling his parents he was going hiking in the Carlton Reserve. They described him as being “upset” and “out of sorts” when he left their home for the last time.

  • CONSPIRACY THEORISTS SUGGEST BRIAN IS STILL ALIVE

Online sleuths are claiming that Brian Laundrie is in fact still alive and is now living as a cop, among other wild conspiracies pushed in the wake of his skeletal remains being found.

In one TikTok video, someone posted a blurry photo showing a police officer with a resemblance close to Laundrie.

The man, seen in the photo wearing a baseball cap and glasses, was seen walking next to Laundrie’s father Chris on October 7.

The user, posting under the name conspiracyteacrimetimeee, then captioned the TikTok: “Brian Laundrie’s father seen laughing with officer who looks exactly like his son while on their search in Carlton Reserve.”
