Congratulations, you’ve got an interview. And I believe that you already know how to dress and what to wear for the interview.
You have done your homework, you have secured the meeting, and you are dressed to impress, but before you run off to go to that interview.
We need to discuss because it is still possible to mess things up if you don’t know what you are doing, even if you’re the right person for the job.
So today we will be discussing ten tips to crush an interview please note I am not going to justify been on time with a tip if you are that much of a moron to be late for your interview than you don’t deserve the job in the first place,
Tip number one: Research before going for the meeting, I’m not talking about knowing what the company does. I guess you did that before applying for the job; I’m talking about getting granular with every aspect of the company.
Get more information regarding the company, dive into Google. Dive into their website and figure out everything about the company so that when you go in. Be ready to discuss every area of the company, and if you know who you are going to be interviewing with, in terms of the person’s name, also research them.
Tip number two: Research the interviewer panel. You are not always going to know, but a lot of times, you will be informed on who to meet, or you’re going to be meeting with Mr or Mrs. X he or she is whatever in the company. Kindly research them and also the relevant personnel of the company.
LinkedIn is an ideal platform, and it’s a fantastic resource to get pretty a lot of information on a lot of people. And having this information in the back of your mind gives you leverage, and if you can use any of it in the general flow of conversation, please do it.
But don’t go in there discussing their personal and social life even if you know everything about it, it is counterproductive in getting hired for the job.
Tip number three: You need to review the one hundred and fifty most common interview questions, there is a list of questions that get asked pretty much in every interview.
Kindly study these questions and prepare or think about your answer, you don’t need to memorize the questions, but it’s a good idea to have an idea of what they’re going ask and how you’re going to respond.
Because if they shock you with why you are looking for a new job and you are dumbfounded with no answer, you will not get the job.
Tip number four: It is all about making friends when you walk into the establishment; you need to be super charming to everybody. From the receptionist to everybody present in that office, even other people that are there for the same job.
You are supposed to be talking, engaging, asking questions, smiling and being friendly because you never know who you’re talking to and you never know if the receptionist has the ear of the person that is hiring.
Tip number five: Which is to keep your answers short but concise, not like one word or two words, but elaborate as much as you need to get your point across and clear to the interviewer level of understanding.
Do not ramble because rambling will lead you down areas that you don’t need to keep it concise and consistent.
Tip number six: It is all about utilizing body language to make a great impression; this involves eye contact, sitting, standing and walking posture, especially the way you walk into the interview room and exchange greetings with the interviewer.
Tip number seven: Is about preparation, and I would suggest that you go along with some beautiful portfolio to keep your resume, business cards, documents, and a notebook. In this notebook or the sheet of paper, you have already written out some predetermined questions that you’re going to ask the interviewer.
Tip number eight: Compile a list of questions that you are going to ask if given a chance. In most interviews, the interviewer might allow you to ask them questions, and if you’re like none. It merely means that you haven’t thought about things relating to the job you are applying for.
By having a list of questions that you are prepared to ask, indicate that you are detail-oriented and you are interested in the job
Tip number nine: It is all about selling yourself; this is your opportunity to shine. It is not an opportunity to be super modest, but you have too delicate in the sense that you don’t want to look like you’re bragging. Still, you can be confident and deliver yourself in a positive, proactive way and not look like an arrogant person.
It is not the time to be like well; I’m not that great on it, but I can learn. Please take the Alpha M approach to self-marketing and promote yourself like never before, at least that’s what I will do if giving the opportunity.
Tip number ten: Before you walk out of that interview room, you need to let them know that you are the man for the job, and you’re interested in the role. Let them know that you are excited about the job and hope to be a part of what they have going on or that specific organization.
Before you leave, get up, put your hand out, and you shake that hand like a man even if you’re shaking a woman in confidence and assurance that you will be part of the organization.
