The YWCA of Salem has been rendering meritorious service for over 35 years in the city of Salem and in the suburbs. The YWCA has ever been sensitive to the needs of poor people infected and affected by HIV / AIDS and marginalized sections of the community. It provides an effective forum for volunteerism in the spirit of service
Membership at YWCA
Membership in the YWCA open to any woman who wishes to join the worldwide fellowship of YWCA, and is in sympathy with its aims and shares in its activities.
Membership in the YWCA of Salem carries with it membership of YWCA of India which is a participating member of the world YWCA.

Founded by Mrs. J.Vedamuthu and Mrs.S.Rajah D. Stephens. YWCA of Salem is governed locally by board of management an elected body from membership annually. It is affiliated to National YWCA located at New Delhi therefore part of World YWCA. General secretary is the appointed person professional leader managing the whole programs entrusted to board of management
