The Madness Chronicles – Episode 42

In our 42nd episode of the Madness Chronicles, we’ll look at the madness of America’s leaders and their stunning hypocrisy. Remember, madness is a state of being mentally ill, severely, extremely foolish behavior, and a form of frenzied or chaotic activity. Let’s take a look at a lineup of hypocrisy in 2020.

In North Carolina’s Mecklenburg County, Manager Dina Dilorio recently held a news conference to announce everyone should stay home and quarantine over the Christmas holidays. A reporter asked her what she was doing. She replied without a hint of shame that she and her family traveled up to Durham to relatives.

New York City Mayor Bill DiBlasio announced he was closing all gyms due to the coronabalogna lockdown. Shortly after that, his staff reported he ran off to go to the YMCA because that kept him grounded. Down the road in Philadelphia, Mayor Jim Kinney closed the city to indoor dining. He was later seen in Delaware dining without a mask. What is good for the goose is obviously not good for the gander.

In Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot isn’t the least bit ashamed of her hypocritical behavior. The city is locked down, but she needed a haircut, so she went to her favorite salon and got a trim. When confronted, she simply said she was the face of the city, and if she wanted a haircut, she’d get one. That followed her allowing protests despite the lockdown… except in the blocks near her house. She ordered those shutdowns.

The House’s Speaker, the infamous Nancy Pelosi, was caught on film at her salon in San Francisco. Despite city lockdowns, Ms. Pelosi was exempt. When outed, she said the salon owner had set her up. She had to cancel a Democratic party dinner planned that week after all the bad press from getting her perm.

California Governor Gavin Newsom was caught having a fancy dinner party at the famous French Laundry restaurant he favors. He apologized since he had forbidden indoor dining of any type in the state. Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, whose name may actually be in the dictionary under ‘hypocrite,’ was caught walking on Virginia Beach without a mask after issuing a mask order. His defense was he didn’t plan on being within six feet of anyone. Suppose that would work for you and me?

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser traveled to Delaware to hear Joe Biden’s victory speech after the election. When confronted, Ms. Bowser said that despite the travel restrictions she issued in D. C., she was exempt because it was ‘essential travel.’ Imagine, these are adults leading us.

California Senator Dianne Feinstein was seen chatting with her aides and others, maskless, minutes after arguing on the Senate floor for a nationwide mask mandate. Not to be outdone, California legislators who support all the draconian restrictions in their states set by Governor Newsom recently traveled to Hawaii for a conference.

Austin, Texas Mayor Steve Adler, who locked down his city, recently hosted a twenty guests’ family wedding reception. The next day he boarded a private jet to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Denver Mayor Michael Hancock issued a Tweet warning citizens to avoid travel for Thanksgiving. That was 30 minutes before he boarded a flight to travel to his family for the holidays.

In case you haven’t noticed, politicians today believe they are above the law. They also firmly believe you, and I are stupid. If any of them thought the corona bologna was as serious as they say, they’d act like it.

May we wake from this madness before it’s too late. I wish you good health, and until next time, have fun, enjoy life, and watch out for the madness amongst us. It’s 2020, look around; it’s outrageous.
