Meet Our Speakers
Ida Palombella (Partner, Deloitte Legal, Italy)
Ida joined Deloitte Legal in July 2018 as a partner and head of the IP and Technology Practice. After working as in-house counsel in the luxury department of Valentino S.p.A., she gained an extensive experience in assisting clients with intellectual property and tech-related matters, both non-contentious and contentious. She is actively involved with the Italian Fashion Council (Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana) and seats in a number of working groups set by the Italian Fashion Council on IP/IT cutting edge matters. Ida has a significant expertise in the IP aspects related to M&A deals in the fashion sector and is ranked by Chambers and Best Lawyers among the top Italian IP lawyers.
Ida has been recognized for several years now as a leading individual at international level in the field of fashion law (also ranked in Legal 500).
Ida is a professor (professore a contratto) in Fashion Law at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. Her client portfolio includes several fashion and design brands, designers, digital marketing and social media companies, fashion promoters and agents, as well as prominent fashion associations/entities.
Deborah Greaves (Partner, Withers USA)
Deborah Greaves is a partner in the corporate team at the international law firm, Withers. Her practice focuses on providing clients with domestic and global intellectual property, privacy and protection strategy in the fashion, food, consumer products, retail and technology sectors, along
with corporate, commercial and employment-related legal services.
Deborah formerly served as an advisor to the Executive Committee of the California Lawyers Association (formerly the California State Bar Intellectual Property Law Section), after serving as its Chair, and has penned the “Counterfeit Corner” column in New Matter, the Section’s quarterly publication. She is also a frequent speaker on IP and fashion law subjects and serves as an adjunct professor teaching courses in Fashion Law, Fashion Law Business Transactions and Retail & Fashion Law at Loyola Law School.
Shreya Gupta (Fashion Lawyer, Editorial Board, Legal Desire India)
Shreya Gupta is an Indian lawyer specializing in Fashion Law from Fashion Law Institute, Fordham University New York. Her niche includes Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Law, Labor law & Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace. She is a member of both the Bar Council of Delhi and the Bar Council of India, in good standing. She
is also a member of the Delhi High Court Bar Association, qualified to practice in the High Court of Delhi and every other court of Delhi.
Ms. Gupta holds a BBA.LLB with honors degree, an LLM degree in “Corporate Laws” & is an appearing candidate of CS (Chartered Secretary) Level II. Apart from these, she also holds various licenses certificates on Patent, Trademark and copyright from all across the globe.
She has been invited as a speaker in various countries such as Argentina, Spain & India on various subjects like Fashion law, Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace, Labour laws, Environmental laws.
Abisade Adenubi (Founder and Executive Director of Heritage Apparel, Nigeria)
Abisade Adenubi is an International Lawyer, the Founder and Executive Director of Heritage Apparels, a textile and apparel production factory in Ogun state, Nigeria with a mandate to create a sustainable world- class production facility servicing the apparel needs of various industries
nationally, regionally and globally, whilst creating employment, contributing to capacity building in the industry and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of African textiles. Abisade is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, and prior to entrepreneurship, She holds an LLB degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an MA in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva. She is an alumna of the London College of Fashion as well as the Fashion Law Institute at the Prestigious Fordham Law School in New York. Abisade is committed to the revival of the textile and apparel industry in Africa and is deeply persuaded of the fashion industry’s capacity to contribute significantly to the continent’s economic
transformation.
Aderinsola Fagbure (Principal Partner, In Black and White, Nigeria)
Aderinsola Fagbure is a corporate lawyer with special interest in corporate
governance. She is the Principal Partner of In Black and White LP, a law firm which specializes in providing legal advice to startups. She is a doctoral candidate at Igbinedion University Okada where she obtained her
first degree. She has a Master’s Degree in Corporate Law from University College London.
She is passionate about entrepreneurs and writes regularly on legal structures for SMEs through her brand “in black and white”. She has spoken at various business summits on the importance of a legal structure towards ensuring business perpetuity. She is a member of the International Bar Association where she serves as the Young Lawyers’ Committee Liason Officer for the Africa Regional Forum. An active bar member, she served as a two-time Chairman of the Young Lawyers’ Forum of the NBA Lagos Branch.
Anna Radke (Managing Associate, Brand Counsel P.C, U.S.A)
Anna Radke is a Managing Associate of Brand Counsel, P.C. in New York, a
bicoastal full-service law firm. She assists clients with intellectual property,
contract, corporate, privacy, employment and immigration law matters. She has represented domestic and international clients from the fashion, beauty, art, media, sport and tech industries.
She has also lectured at major universities around the world such as the Fashion Institute of Technology, the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the United States; the Ulster University and the London College of Fashion in the United Kingdom; and the University of Warsaw and the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poland.
Her work has been featured in international issues of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, and Elle, among others.
Anna graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology (B.S. in Fashion
Merchandising Management), the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D.) and Cornell Law School (LL.M. in Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship).
Tania Phipps Rufus (Founder & Editor in Chief Fashion, Law & Business)
Tania read law at the University of Kent, Canterbury (2002), and obtained her Master of Laws degree in intellectual property from the University of London, Queen Mary (2006). She was awarded an AHRC funded research scholarship to conduct a PhD on the role of intellectual property in the fashion industry (2013). Currently she works as a lecturer in fashion management at Coventry University, where she leads modules in fashion history, global future of fashion, and fashion & brand management. She also works as an associate lecturer at Goldsmith, University of London, teaching intellectual property law on their MA in luxury brand management. She regularly speaks at conferences and events on the topic of fashion and law.
Tania decided to set up Fashion, Law & Business in 2013 to address the limited focus and development of the discipline of Fashion Law in the UK and as an extension of her PhD research. It first started as a meet-up group (2013) to create and connect a community of fashion law enthusiasts and drawing on her years of dedicated experience.
