The Audacity Of The Republican Party
As the United States sinks beneath the waves into obscurity the rest of the world watches the antics of one man’s desperation. The Trump Administration since day one has been played out like a never ending bad soap opera. The tirades, the utter contempt for truth, and the sheer audacity of his behavior has put this nation on notice that we have as a society succumbed to a much lower standard of acceptable behavior. When over 70 million actually put their votes in support of Donald Trump is a high water mark for America’s decline.
Who is to blame for the past four years of very bad reality TV? The complacency, the total disregard of civility during this Pandemic and even before mirrors the Republican parties pathetic, callous and unapologetic nature to the general publics welfare. The so called blind allegiance to the Trump Administration has greatly reduced this countries ability to curb this most deadly pandemic and actually spur real authentic economic growth for all Americans. When we consider these factors therein lies the great travesty of America today.
It is within our ability still as a society to correct the imbalances that exist today. Imbalances created by government. We have to remember when government becomes obsessed with power they always produce policies that accelerates that power into control. And, by control they in turn gain more power and wealth at the expense of the public. A public that now serves the government.
If this nation ever wants to regain it’s ability to rise above the ashes of tyranny where we have a government that actually serves the people we the people must overcome our complacency and put forth the effort to educate what the ramifications of the status-quo is doing and will do to our society if we chose to do nothing. So far we have chosen to ignore the Jefferson Prophecy. It is within our right to change to power structure that exists in our government and return it to the people. That old saying “If there is a will there is a way.” This apply applies here today.
The sheer audacity of Trump and the Republicans in ignoring the publics outcries during this time of global crisis proves once again their contempt for millions of Americans. This writer can’t think of any other way to describe their blindness to see the plight not only of what this Pandemic is doing to our country but, the economic devastation that is happening to the millions. Millions, who are crying out for any financial and economic help only to be ignored. The proof is their unwillingness to extend the Stimulus Bill and other economic aid to offset the financial and economic devastation that was already sweeping across the country even prior to when the Pandemic struck.
What this past election states is that we have to bridge the extremes that exist today. It is these bridges that are exasperating the tempests raging around the country. It is quite obvious that the Trump Administration and the Republicans are too transfixed on their own agendas. Agendas that are only widening the great divides that exist today. If President-elect Biden can manage to utilize the power of the Presidency and present a definitive plan of direction for this nation, something no President has done since John Kennedy using National Economic Reform’s Ten Articles of Confederation as the basic blue print just maybe the United States can finally rid ourselves of the albatross of a self serving bureaucracy that has kept the public slaves to our own government.
