Super Tuesday 2024 LIVE: Polls in the West start to close as Nikki Haley pins her hopes on a win in Vermont

The final big grouping of states closed their polls at 9 p.m. ET on Super Tuesday.

The votes will be counted in Texas, Colorado and Minnesota as Donald Trump has already won eight total states over Nikki Haley.

Texas’ 161 GOP delegates are at stake in the contest that has Trump up by around 70 points over Haley.

Texas is the largest red state with the most delegates at stake in the primary election.

As the state bears the brunt of the southern border crisis, Texas voters are fired up this election cycle and want to get Trump back in the White House to reverse Biden’s immigration policies.

Colorado has 37 delegates and has been embroiled in drama with the Trump campaign.

Colorado’s Supreme Court ruled on December 19, 2023 that Trump is ineligible to appear on the state’s primary ballot. The Justices claim that Trump violated Section 3 of the 14th Amendment by participating in an insurrection on January 6, 2021.

But the decision was appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, putting a stay on the Colorado decision and allowing Trump to be included on printouts of the 2024 primary ballot in the state.

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously in a 9-0 decision on Monday – the day before Super Tuesday – that it was unconstitutional for a state to decide who can run for president.

Minnesota’s 39 delegates are on the line and Trump is up by over 76 percent compared to Haley in recent polls.

Utah is holding a mainly mail-in caucus Tuesday night.

A Dan Jones & Associates poll conducted January 16-21 reveals that Trump is ahead of Haley by 27 percentage points among Utah’s registered voters (49 percent to 22 percent).

Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley is neck-and-neck with Donald Trump in Vermont as he has steamrolled her in nearly every other state called so far on Super Tuesday.

As of 9pm ET with 46 percent of the vote counted, Trump led by just over 400 votes in the race at 48.6 percent to Haley’s 47.8 percent.

Haley has been doing well in areas in and around Burlington and Montpelier.

If Haley wins the state it would be her first victory of the night and the first state she has won in the Republican presidential primary to date.

Haley previously won one other contest, the Republican District of Columbia primary on Sunday, which made her the first woman to win a GOP presidential primary.

She has pledged to stay in the race through Super Tuesday. She is at home in South Carolina and not scheduled to make any public remarks.

Trump’s win in the massive state that boasts 161 delegates is major for the candidate.

It also marks his ninth victory of the evening.

Trump is steamrolling Haley on Super Tuesday as she hides at home on primary election night.

He notched his fifth win in the state of Maine at 8:30 p.m. ET, called by the Associated Press.

And Alabama handed him his sixth win of the night with Massachusetts being called in his favor shortly after.

Arkansas also fell into line with voters backing the former president less than an hour after polls closed.

Haley was hunkered down in her home state of South Carolina while millions of Americans went to the polls.

Her campaign sent out no information on any kind of plans to address supporters while the results came in.

The conservative state boasts 40 delegates that are most likely to go to Donald Trump.

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders proudly cast her vote for her former boss Donald Trump earlier Tuesday.

‘This is a head to head matchup at this point between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, and he’s the clear favorite, has all the momentum, and I feel really good about him winning again in November,’ she told reporters after casting her ballot.

Huckabee Sanders formerly served as Trump’s Press Secretary.

Nikki Haley laid low on Super Tuesday facing a potential onslaught by Donald Trump as the first votes came in showing her losing to her rival in Virginia and North Carolina.

Haley was hunkered down in her home state of South Carolina while millions of Americans went to the polls.

Her campaign sent out no information on any kind of plans to address supporters while the results came in, even as Trump, who has declared the race all but over and invited hundreds of supporters to his Mar-a-Lago private Florida club.

The Virginia loss deprived Haley of one of the 15 states up for grabs on Tuesday where she had something approaching a shot.

And exit poll information described an electorate that could be open to a candidate like Haley: 72 per cent suburban, majority college educated, and less committed to ‘MAGA’ than neighboring North Carolina.

The only information on her whereabouts came from a public comment by Haley in a TV interview that she would be in her home state on Super Tuesday.

By contrast, before her defeat in her home state of South Carolina, the candidate had telegraphed that she would campaign in Michigan and on to Super Tuesday.

Three people briefed on the meeting say it happend as Trump is urgently seeking an infusion of cash to his 2024 presidential campaign amid a slew of lawsuits that have pulled from his funds.

Trump is presumably heading into a tough general election rematch with President Joe Biden and Musk could help erase Biden’s financial advantage.

It’s not clear if Musk, one of the world’s richest men, plans to pump any of his billions into Trump’s third straight bid for office. But Musk has made it exceeding clearly on X, which he owns, that he does not think President Joe Biden should remain in the White House.

Musk has donated to candidates from both political parties over the years and the contributions are almost evenly split between Democrats and Republicans.

An issue Musk appears passionate about lately is the southern border crisis.

The Tesla and SpaceX founder and CEO shared a DailyMail.com article on Monday night detailing a Biden program that flew 320,000 undocumented aliens from foriegn countries directly to U.S. airports for released into the country.

The president sailed to victory in Tennessee just after 8 p.m. ET, when the polls closed.

He also snagged the win in Oklahoma at 8:16 p.m. ET, according to the Associated Press.

The former president quickly won deeply red Tennessee, which has 58 delegates, just after polls closed Tuesday.

Trump was up over Nikki Haley by nearly 70 points in polls heading into the primary.

Taylor Swift took to Instagram this morning to encourage voters in her home state of Tennessee to head to the polls.

She backed Biden in 2020 and his campaign is working to score another endorsement from her this cycle.

Biden also won Vermont, where 16 delegates were up for grabs, and North Carolina, which has a total of 116 delegates.

And he sailed to victory early in North Carolina.

Now the wait begins to see if there is a wave of ‘uncommitted’ protest votes in other states over his handling of Gaza.

The polls in the majority of Super Tuesday states have now closed at 8 p.m. ET.

Alabama’s delegate count is 50 – which are all expected to go to former President Donald Trump.

But Alabama has become the center of controversy regarding women’s healthcare rights after a state Supreme Court ruling deemed fertilized eggs for IVF treatments are considered human life.

In both the 2016 and 2020 general elections, 62 percent of Alabama voted for Trump.

Maine has 20 delegates up for grabs and Trump’s name will be on the ballot despite an attempt by Democratic Secretary of State Shenna Bellows to remove it.

A February 15-19 poll by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center shows Trump 58 percentage points ahead of Haley in Maine (77 percent to 19 percent).

Massachusetts has 40 delegates and Haley is hoping she can pick up the commonwealth Tuesday.

Trump is ahead of Haley by 36.2 percentage points in a FiveThirtyEight average of polling in Massachusetts.

There are 43 delegates in Oklahoma, a deep red state that is likely to back Trump.

A Morning Consult poll conducted in Oklahoma on January 23 through February 4 puts Trump a whopping 77 percentage points ahead of Haley (88 percent to 11 percent).

In Tennessee, which has 58 delegates, Trump is up by nearly 70 points.

This is the Trump coalition on display, an odd mix of Palm Beach money and ‘deplorable’ energy.

So for every group of eight Asian-American women arriving in ankle-length red ‘Save America’ outfits, there is another group of Mar-a-Lago members who look as if they would never set foot at a Trump rally.

The Trump watch party lit up with cheers as Virginia and North Carolina were called in raid succession for the former president. Supporters chanted, ‘Trump, Trump, Trump.’

Top campaign adviser Chris LaCivita turned away from reporters to take a picture of the big screens showing Virgina being called.

‘I was up at 4:30 to fly down from Richmond to be here,’ said the Virginia resident.

With a huge haul of delegates expected on Tuesday night, Wednesday morning will bring

‘I think it’s preparation for message and mechanics,’ he said. ‘It’s about putting together and continuing the message that we’ve been talking about, contrasting with Joe Biden, whether it’s the border, where America stands in the eyes of the world, the failure of Bidenomics, the border invasion.’

Add to that, he said, the mechanics of ‘moving in if you will’ with the RNC, and merging the campaign with the party apparatus.

Super Tuesday’s biggest prize will be delegate-rich California and a move by the state Republican party seven months ago practically guaranteed that former President Donald Trump will walk away with all 169.

If the ex-president simply picks up a majority of voters he’ll win the whole pot, after the state party backed a pro-MAGA move to go winner-take-all.

That will more than likely give Trump an insurmountable lead by Wednesday morning, when all the Super Tuesday contests wrap up – though he won’t yet be able to crack the 1,215-delegate finish line.

Final polling in the state showed Trump with the support of 75.6 percent of California Republicans and rival Nikki Haley with just 18.4 percent, with Haley spending just one day campaigning in the Golden State.

Voters in Huntington Beach, a city in California’s more conservative Orange County, mirrored that result when discussing their presidential preference with DailyMail.com.

Virginia Fisher, a 73-year-old dental hygienist from Huntington Beach, said Monday during early voting that she was backing Trump and GOP Senate hopeful Steve Garvey.

‘I voted for him twice before and I think he did a lot of good things for us and I just feel like it’s gone to hell in a handbasket,’ she said. ‘And we need to get it back on track again.’

Casting a ballot for Haley wasn’t ever a consideration.

‘No,’ Fisher said. ‘I just think she’s, I don’t think she’s as conservative as I’m looking for,’ the California Republican explained.

Retiree Bridget Hawley, 80, of Huntington Beach echoed the sentiment.

She said she picked Trump ‘because he’s the only one who’s ever done anything for this country.’

Haley also was never an option.

North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson is the projected winner of the GOP primary race for governor in what is expected to be one of the closest governors races in the country this fall.

He would be the first black governor of North Carolina if elected.

Robinson was endorsed by President Trump who compared him during a recent rally in Greensboro to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ‘on steroids.’

But Robinson has drawn intense criticism for past offensive comments and posts he has made about women, Muslims, Jews and members of the LGBTQ community.

Donald Trump has won the state of North Carolina, beating out Nikki Haley in the GOP primary race.

The early call was a major boost for Trump as he seeks to sweep all 15 states voting on Super Tuesday.

The state has 74 of the 1,215 delegates needed to secure the Republican nomination.

Trump defeated his challenger Nikki Haley in a state that neighbors her home state of South Carolina.

It also comes after his first win of the night in Virginia.

Donald Trump and Nikki Haley both visited the state ahead of the Republican presidential primary where 74 delegates are up for grabs in the Tar Heel State.

Those delegates will be allocated proportionate to the vote.

Unaffiliated voters make up the largest group of voters in the state.

North Carolina also held primaries in the governors race – which is expected to be one of closest governor races in the country come November.

Trump endorsed candidate Lt. Governor Mark Robinson has been the frontrunner in the GOP race but has gained national attention for past offensive remarks.

State Attorney General Josh Stein has been leading in the Democratic governor race.

Conservative Trump confidant Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a photo showing off a shining reception room at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

Greene was the only GOP lawmaker pictured in attendance.

Donald Trump has defeated Nikki Haley in Virginia.

The former president’s victory in the commonwealth, which awards 48 delegates, came despite tactical voting.

It was an open primary meaning some Democrats chose to vote in the Republican contest, backing Haley in a bid to stop Trump.

Earlier, exit polls showed immigration was the top concern for voters in Virginia.

They also showed 31 percent of voters in the Republican primary described themselves as part of the MAGA movement while 59 percent did not.

President Biden has also been projected to win Vermont’s primary.

His victory comes after quick calls in the Iowa Democratic caucuses and in Virginia for the president.

Biden sailed to a quick victory in Virginia, just minutes after the polls closed at 7 p.m. ET.

Virginia was the biggest prize of the early voting Tuesday, with 99 delegates at stake.

He carried the commonwealth by 10 percentage points over Donald Trump in 2020, and one he needs in his column this November.

The first polls have now closed in Virginia and Vermont.

The two states are the first to finish voting in the Republican primary. Vermont has a total of 17 delegates up for grabs this evening and Virginia has 48.

Vermont, along with Massachusetts, are among the few states where Haley hopes she can pick up some more delegates on Super Tuesday.

It is expected that results will be announced quickly and give a clear signal for how the rest of the night will progress.

Other states will quickly follow with polls closing in North Carolina in 30 minutes time.

A group of states including Massachusetts and Maine will close their polls in an hour.

The primary caucuses are also convening in Alaska, kicking off at 7 p.m. ET.

Voters tell DailyMail.com in Colorado that border and economy are biggest issues for them heading into the polls.

Brittany, a voter from Castle Rock says the border issue is the biggest issue she’s concerned about.

‘We could be taking care of our own, you know we have a lot of homeless people that are on the streets here, there are a lot of people who are American citizens that need our help,’ she says.

She volunteers that she is a Trump supporter.

‘I’ve just been Trump the whole time. Honestly, you know, my opinion on Trump – is he an asshole? Yep he is. Is he not politically correct all the time, no he’s not, but what I like is that he runs the country like a business and I think that’s beneficial.’

Alex wants to see both parties reach a compromise on the issue.

‘I’m more concerned about the Southern Border, an issue that is most important to me. It needs to be resolved. I was wondering why the two sides can’t come together. They need to be resolved.’

Margaret cites the economy and immigration as her main issues.

‘It’s of course the economy and the immigration situation, I think the grocery store is a big one. I think the cost of medical care for seniors is important,’ she says.

Mark, another voter , says the economy is his biggest concern.

‘Everything is really expensive, especially at the grocery store, everything seems almost double of what it used to be.’

He said he was satisfied by the Supreme Court ruling allowing Trump to stay on the ballot.

‘I didn’t think there was any reason they should have pulled Trump off of the ballot. He wasn’t convicted or anything. The fact that the Supreme Court ruling was unanimous, that says something, what Colorado wanted to do was wrong.’

A minority of Reublican voters in two of the states voting on Super Tuesday consider themselves members of the MAGA movement, CNN exit polls have revealed.

In Virginia 31 percent of voters said they were MAGA compared to 59 percent who said no, while 39 percent of those in North Carolina said ‘yes’ while 54 percent said ‘no’.

When asked if Trump would still be fit for the presidency if convicted of a crime, 53 percent in Virginia said he would while 40 percent said no.

In North Carolina, 64 percent of primary voters said the former president would still be fit to serve if found guilty of a crime while 32 percent said no.

President Joe Biden notched an early win Super Tuesday when he prevailed in the Iowa Caucuses in a contest with less impact and drama than intraparty smackdowns of the past.

Biden won the support of more than 11,000 Iowa Democrats in returns posted on the state party’s web site.

That came while challenger Rep. Dean Phillips got the support of 362, while Marianne Williamson got 268. ‘Uncommitted’ was supported by 480, following a vigorous ‘uncommitted’ effort in Michigan that hit 13 per cent of the vote.

The Democratic Party stripped Iowa of its early caucus status after the fiasco during the 2020 count while giving South Carolina coveted first-in-the-nation status.

That ended the tradition of fierce campaigning and sign-wielding volunteers and supporters packing arenas through the winter.

This year, the caucus was conducted entirely by mail, with the results announced on a party website with almost no fanfare.

The Associated Press called the race for Biden shortly before 6 p.m. ET.

A week after President Joe Biden and Donald Trump visited the border, immigration is still on the minds of Super Tuesday voters.

Exit polls in Virginia and North Carolina, conducted by CBS News, reveal the migrant crisis is the top issue heading into the 2024 election.

43% in Virginia and 37% in North Carolina picked immigration over the economy, abortion and foreign policy when asked about their concerns at polling places.

Thien voted for Trump in the past two elections and said she wouldn’t cross party lines to cast a ballot for President Joe Biden, leaving her few options in the case of a likely Trump-Biden rematch.

‘I would hope that we have another choice,’ she said chuckling when asked about her November plans.

Final polling in California showed Trump 57.2 points ahead.

Scandal star Kerry Washington led the stars urging their fans to go to the polls and cast their votes.

On the day of the 2024 Super Tuesday primary election, the 47-year-old actress shared a video on TikTok and encouraged young voters to use their voice.

n the clip, she sported a blue tracksuit and and had her hair styled in a messy bun, but the focal point was an ‘I Voted’ sticker, which she waved around on her thumb.

She lip-synced to an audio clip from Love Is Blind with Jessica Vestal’s iconic send-off to Jimmy Presnell.

‘When your friend tells you they’re not voting in the primaries,’ she wrote over the video of herself lip-syncing to Vestal’s viral goodbye message to her ex.

The winner of the Republican race needs to reach 1,215 delegates.

While Donald Trump is expected to get close it is not possible for him to reach that tonight.

He has 273 delegates so far and 865 are up for grabs on Super Tuesday.

That means he could reach 1,138.

Nikki Haley will not be mathematically eliminated tonight.

She has 43 delegates so far.

If she got zero on Super Tuesday there would still be, mathematically, just enough enough for her to get to 1,215.

Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy said Super Tuesday could be a big night for Republicans and added this election will be easier for the GOP than the last two.

‘Not only could it be a big night for Republicans … it is going to be easier for Republicans to win seats in the House than the last two elections,’ McCarthy said speaking on Fox News.

The former speaker also weighed in on the state’s primary for U.S. Senate.

California Senate candidate and former Dodgers baseball star Steve Garvey will have ‘an uphill battle’ in the general election against sitting Rep. Adam Schiff, McCarthy said.

The two candidates with the most votes will advance to the general election in November.

Garvey is facing off in the primary with McCarthy’s former colleagues Reps. Katie Porter, Adam Schiff and Barbara Lee.

Biden will be filled in on Super Tuesday results as they come in tonight.

With Alaska’s polls closing at 12 a.m. ET, it could prove to be a late night for the 81-year-old president.

‘I have not spoken to him about his plans tonight,’ White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Tuesday.

‘Obviously, he will be kept updated, and he’ll be aware of what’s going on tonight as we see elections happening across the country. I just don’t have anything specific,” she said during the briefing.

In Euless, a city in the suburb of Dallas, supporters of Donald Trump turned out in huge numbers to vote for the former president on Super Tuesday.

The Republican frontrunner is expecting a big win in Texas, and has lead rival Nikki Haley by as many as 50 points in some polls.

Phillip Foster, 61, told DailyMail.com that Trump deserves another four years to have a ‘fair shot to make our country great again.’

‘Look what Biden’s done since he took over. He said he’s gonna unite the nation, he’s done nothing but destroy it.’

North Carolina voter William Raymond, 34, told DailyMail.com he did not cast a vote in the state’s presidential primary because he believes there should be age limits.

‘I personally feel like there should be an age limit on how old you can be to run to be a president,’ he told DailyMail.com’s Sarah Ewall-Wice.

Raymond, who voted for Biden in 2020, added when it comes to presidential candidates ‘I just feel like every one that comes up is a clown.’

Despite not voting for a presidential candidate, he did vote in the governor race, saying it was his ‘duty’ to vote.

His top issues in this year’s election are ‘stabilizing our economy’ and ‘not having our hands in’ other country’s wars.

There are questions over whether young people will show up for Democrats in November or whether they have turned on President Biden and the party that typically counts them as a key part of the base.

Polling suggests it very well could happen amid frustration over the likelihood of a Biden-Trump rematch and the president’s support for Israel as war rages in Gaza.

But one Democrat leading the Democratic Party in a key battleground state is determined in the fight ahead. Anderson Clayton is the 26-year-old chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party. Elected last year amid a wave of discontent over the party’s performance, she is the youngest chair of a state political party in the country.

Clayton passionately argued this year’s election ‘ain’t’ about an 81-year-old, but the issues: abortion rights, workers rights, climate rights, ‘anything that you care about to have the right to is on your ballot.’

She said voter education is the party’s biggest problem in the upcoming election cycle.

Touting something like ‘Bidenomics’ is not working in a state like North Carolina she said fiercely because the state legislature says it is ok to keep the minimum wage where it is at.

‘What do you want to see the future of your country, of your state, of your community look like and become?’ Clayton said of 2024.

‘Because what the other party right now believes in is fundamentally something that I do not think we as people are ok with. I hope to hell we’re not.’

Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema stunned colleagues on Tuesday by announcing she won’t run for re-election ahead of what would have been a brutal race.

The Independent, who defected from the Democrats and 2022 and was a moderate in the Senate, warned America is choosing ‘anger and division’ rather than working together in her farewell message.

‘I believe in my approach, but it’s not what America wants right now,’ she said in the video message revealing she was taking herself out of the race.

Donald Trump is expected to win a large majority of the 865 delegates tonight in most, if not all, of the states.

For Nikki Haley and her supporters, the question is whether she wins enough of the vote to keep her campaign running.

Eric Levine, a Haley donor, said: ‘If she is losing 90 percent to 10 there’s no point’ in continuing to back her campaign.

‘But if she’s continuing to pick up 30 to 40 percent of the vote, state after state, even though she’s not winning those states, that speaks to a very significant portion of the Republican Party that is feeling alienated,’ he continued. ‘And we want a spokesperson.’

‘I would encourage her to stay in if those continue to be her numbers,’ Levine stated.

‘If it’s 90 to 10, then pack it in.’

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is admitting that Biden, 81, is ‘old’ amid concerns over his age.

‘Somebody the other day said to me, ‘Well, but, you know, Joe Biden’s old.’’

‘I said, ‘You know what, Joe Biden is old. Let’s go ahead and accept the reality. Joe Biden is old,’” Clinton said Tuesday on Mornings with Zerlina radio show on SiriusXM.

‘So we have a contest between one candidate who’s old but who’s done an effective job and doesn’t threaten our democracy. And we have another candidate who is old, barely makes sense when he talks, is dangerous, and threatens our democracy.’

The Nikki Haley campaign sent out a blast on Super Tuesday running through a list of newspaper editorial boards that have backed her over Trump.

The endorsements aren’t expected to greatly move the needle on primary election night.

And the only paper the campaign boasted that is in a Super Tuesday state was the Houston Chronicle.

‘For nearly an hour, Haley parried our questions, never fumbling for words or veering into vengeful incoherence like Trump,’ wrote the Chronicle editorial board.

‘We didn’t have to wonder what bit part American interests play in her quixotic bid for the most powerful position in the world. America, it seems — rather than ego, fame, greed or an oval-shaped shelter from criminal prosecution — is her chief concern.’

California Senate hopeful, Rep. Adam Schiff, cast a vote for himself at the McCambridge Recreation Center in Burbank, California Tuesday morning as he looked poised to move on to the general election.

Schiff, the former Senate Intelligence Committee chairman, bolstered the campaign of Republican Steve Garvey – a former MLB player with a sordid past – to kneecap fellow Democratic hopefuls, Reps. Katie Porter and Barbara Lee in the race to replace the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

Schiff talked to reporters outside his polling place.

‘The campaign just flew by and then about six weeks out when you can see Election Day coming, time just slowed down every day was longer than the next. And it’s finally here and it’s exciting to have gone in and voted,’ he said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Polls close tonight in California at 8 p.m. local time, and because of the state’s ‘jungle primary’ rules for Congressional races, the two top vote-getters will appear on the November ballot.

The race for North Carolina governor could be one of the closest in the country come November, but the current Republican frontrunner Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson has gained national attention for a history of offensive remarks and posts as he runs to lead the deeply purple state.

Former President Donald Trump endorsed Robinson at a rally in Greensboro on Saturday, calling Robinson ‘Martin Luther King on steroids.’

But the right-wing conservative firebrand has been a polarizing figure who has come under fire for his past comments on women, Jews, Muslims and members of the LGBTQ community as well as posting about baseless conspiracy theories.

But despite that, Robinson has been leading in the polls in a race against State Treasurer Dale Folwell and trial attorney Bill Graham, who was endorsed by North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis.

GOP voters DailyMail.com spoke with on Super Tuesday said they were casting ballots for Robinson, describing him as a ‘christian conservative.’

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders proudly cast her vote for her former boss Donald Trump.

‘This is a head to head matchup at this point between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, and he’s the clear favorite, has all the momentum, and I feel really good about him winning again in November,’ she told reporters after casting her ballot.

Huckabee Sanders formerly served as Trump’s Press Secretary.

Colorado voters were left in flux before Monday as they waited for the Supreme Court to rule on if Donald Trump could stay on the ballot.

Some waited until the 9-0 decision on Monday to cast their votes, while others handed them in before the unanimous verdict.

One voter, Shayla, told DailyMail.com she waited to drop her ballot off until after the Supreme Court decision on Monday.

‘Honestly, I wanted to see if Trump was on the ballot for sure,’ she said.

‘I think he does a lot for our country he just needs to be off social media,’ she said of Trump and concerns about his conduct.

‘No Facebook, no Twitter, none of that crap.’

At a coffee shop here, one man, Eddie, says he dropped off his ballot a while ago.

‘I like to think they’re getting our votes,’ he jokes.

‘I don’t know that we’ve picked up a lot of fraud in Colorado in the voting system,’ he volunteers.

‘I’m not saying there couldn’t be.’ Another man said he was reassured after he got a text message notifying him that his ballot was counted.

President Joe Biden on Tuesday chastized reporters for not reporting on polls he’s winning but only looking at the New York Times’ numbers, which has Donald Trump leading by four points.

‘The last five polls you guys didn’t report I’m winning. Five. Five in a row. You guys only look at the New York Times,’ Biden told reporters as he made his way back to the White House from Camp David.

A new New York Times/Siena College poll released Saturday has Trump leading Biden 48% to 44%. A recent poll from CBS News had Trump leading Biden 52% to 48%. Biden did lead in a Morning Consult poll but by one point: 44% to 43%.

Trump has not wrapped up the Republican presidential election but it is increasingly apparent he will be Biden’s opponent in November. The former president is expected to sweep the GOP primary contests being held on Super Tuesday, giving him a huge advantage in delegates.

The New York Times/Siena poll this weekend had other bad news for Biden.

Twice as many voter believe his policies have hurt them personally compared to those who think they have helped them.

Gene Schillaci, 66, told DailyMail.com’s Katelyn Caralle that he voted for Joe Biden in the primary in Dallas County, Texas, today.

‘I’m basically voting for anybody but Trump because we’re not going to have any elections if Trump is elected… I couldn’t believe they [Republicans] could nominate a buffoon like that.’

Another voter – 78-year-old Roger Kelso – says he’s an Independent who voted for Biden.

‘The alternative scares the s**t out of me,’ he told DailyMail.com.

‘I have what is known as PTSD, except I call it Post Trump Stress Disorder. My greatest wish would be to see him in an orange jumpsuit.’

Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted his support of a Texas-based Democratic candidate for district attorney.

‘Sorry to bother everyone with this note, as it applies to people in the greater Austin area, but please go to the polls and vote for a new District Attorney!’ he posted on Super Tuesday.

His post included a video from Travis County DA candidate Jeremy Sylestine.

‘The DA’s office has let the backlog of cases grow to over 6000, which means justice delayed for thousands of survivors, victims, and their families,’ Sylestine wrote in a post retweeted by Musk.

‘DA José Garza has also run off over 75 experienced felony prosecutors, which has led to direct harm to the Travis County population,’ Sylestine continued.

There has been a slow but steady number of people heading to the Granville County, North Carolina, polling location according to DailyMail.com’s Sarah Ewall-Wice who is on the ground.

It’s a county that went for Trump but elected a Democrat governor in 2020.

She spoke with an unaffiliated voter who voted for Nikki Haley – saying he likes her over Trump or Biden.

But he plans to vote for Trump come November if he’s the GOP nominee.

Another voter, a Democrat, says she voted for Democrat Attorney General Josh Stein in the governors race, but didn’t vote top of ticket.

She thinks Biden, 81, and Trump, 77, are both too old to serve as president.

Democrat ‘Squad’ member Cori Bush threw her support behind Barbara Lee to become the next U.S. senator from California.

Bush called Lee ‘the OG progressive champion’ and celebrated her support of Palestinians in Gaza.

‘As the sole candidate in the California primary to sign on to our #CeasefireNow resolution calling to end the violence in Gaza, her leadership, courage & conviction is needed in the Senate,’ Bush posted on X.

‘California, vote Barbara Lee today!’

Bush’s Democratic California colleagues, Reps. Adam Schiff and Katie Porter, are also running for the open Senate seat.

Donald Trump started the day as he means to go on, according to an insider, spending it on the phone and in front of the TV.

His first hit was Fox and Friends, during which he said he was on course to win every state.

‘He’ll spend the day calling into local media outlets in Super Tuesday states,’ they said.

‘And then later he is looking forward to delivering a celebratory speech at Mar-a-Lago after winning an avalanche of delegates.’

Supporters, club members and journalists are expected at Trump’s Palm Beach home and political HQ for a watch party later in the evening.

A 29-year-old registered Democrat in Texas told DailyMail.com’s Katelyn Caralle that she voted for Nikki Haley today in protest of Trump’s candidacy, instead of voting for Joe Biden.

In a pre-recorded interview President Joe Biden ripped Donald Trump for having ‘shameful’ interactions with black Americans.

The interview was recorded at Camp David on Monday and aired Tuesday on a Dallas, Texas, radio station.

‘Think of the alternative, folks,’ Biden said. ‘If we lose this election, you’re going to be back with Donald Trump.’

‘The way he talked about, the way he acted, the way he dealt with African American community, I think has been shameful,’ the president added.

Long-shot Democratic presidential hopeful Dean Phillips trolled opponents ‘wishing’ he would drop out, reminding them he is the only candidate not losing to Trump in the polls.

The joke, as pointed out by some on social media, is that he is not even included in many major presidential primary polls that include the former president.

These five primary races that will bring in new members to a deeply divided Congress might not be on your radar.

But they could shift the balance of power in the House of Representatives in November.

Currently, Speaker Mike Johnson holds a tiny majority – he can only afford to lose two Republicans on party-line votes.

• CA-16: There are nine Democrats competiting for this postion in the Silicon Valley. Peter Dixon, former San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and state Assemblymember Evan Low are three of the top names in the fray.
• NC-01: Republicans are trying to flip this seat red to replace Democrat Rep. Don Davis. Trump candidate Sandy Smith lost to Davis by five points last year, worrying some Republicans. Another GOP hopeful to watch is Army veteran Laurie Buckhout, who is trying to shut out Smith from running – and possibly losing again.
• NC-06: Former Rep. Mark Walker is eyeing an opportunity to return to Congress. Other Republicans in the race include: Christian Castelli (who ran in the midterms), Bo Hines and Addison McDowell – who was endorsed by Trump.
• TX-23: GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales has a big pool of primary challengers including former ICE official Victor Avila, Julie Clark and Brandon Herrera. Republicans want him out – and the Texas GOP censured him recently – for voting to enshrine same-sex marriage into law and against bills to back 2nd Amendment rights.

Nikki Haley fended off pointed questions about when she would get out of the race during a Super Tuesday appearance on Fox & Friends.

‘As much as everybody wants to go and push me out, I’m not ready to get out yet,’ she said.

‘I’m still sitting there fighting for the people that want a voice, so they deserve that,’ she added.

The former South Carolina governor pushed back when asked about backing away from her debate stage pledge to get behind the eventual nominee.

‘If you don’t have a good night, are you going to drop out, and when will you realize it’s time to unify? Will you unify and support Donald Trump if he does win tonight?’ asked Fox & Friends cohost Ainsley Earhardt.

‘If I were to get out of the race, that would still be the longest presidential general election in the history. I don’t know why everybody is so adamant that they have to follow Trump’s lead to get me out of this race,’ Haley shot back. ‘All of these people deserve to vote … It’s as pro-American as it gets.’

She said of Trump, who she called responsible for a series of GOP losses: ‘I haven’t heard him pledge to me that he would support me if I won. So I don’t know why I have to pledge to him that I would support him if I won.’

Thousands of voters began heading to the polls early on Tuesday morning to cast their ballots for Super Tuesday.

Polling places in Massachusetts and Virginia saw residents linining up to make their choices on the biggest day of the primary election.

Fifteen states across the country will be voting today, before the results start coming in later this evening.

Michelle Obama has ruled herself out as a presidential candidate, putting to bed speculation that she would jump in at the last minute to give Democrats an alternative to aging Joe Biden.

The former first lady maintains a star power within Democratic politics, despite largely removing herself from the political scene in recent years.

Biden has been holed up in the presidential retreat in the Maryland countryside working on his State of the Union Address with his top aides. The president gives his annual prime time address to the nation on Thursday.

He returns to the White House on Tuesday afternoon where he will hold a meeting of his Competition Council to announce new actions to lower costs for hardworking families by fighting corporate rip-offs, per the White House.

Biden faces token primary competition but, of even more concern for his team, is the growing backlash over his support for aid to Israel. Several key battleground states have activists encouraging Democrats to vote ‘uncommitted’ in Tuesday’s primary as a way to voice their displeasure.

Last week in Michigan, more than 101,000 voters picked ‘uncommitted’ rather than cast a vote for the president.

Meanwhile, Biden’s campaign account on X, the social media platform formally known as Twitter, is reminding people to get to the polls: ‘If you’re in a Super Tuesday state or territory, polls are starting to open. Now is the time to make your voice heard. Confirm your polling place at http://IWillVote.com,’ his campaign posted.

Alan Rich Vourg, 57, told DailyMail.com that he voted for Nikki Haley in Texas’ early voting and isn’t sure if he could cast his ballot for Donald Trump in 2024.

Vourg said he voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020, but he ‘lost it in the 2020 election.’

‘He’s never been the same since then, there’s something wrong with him. And he doesn’t need to be president,’ the voter said after Haley’s rally on Monday in Fort Worth, Texas.

Asked what he would do if Trump is ultimately the 2024 Republican nominee, Vourg said: “I’m having a real hard time with that. I really don’t know.”

‘I’m thinking about not voting,’ he admitted. ‘It would be the first time since like 1982 that I haven’t voted.’

Fox & Friends asked him about the former South Carolina governors comments that polls show she would beat Biden in November.

Donald Trump kicked off his Super Tuesday by calling Democrats wanting to kick him off the ballot ‘losers’ after the Supreme Court ruled unanimously not to disqualify him.

‘They are real losers,’ he said of Democrat Jamie Raskin, who on Monday warned he would introduce a bill to wipe Trump off the ballot after the SCOTUS ruling.

‘I’ve been beating them for years, same voices and faces and they never stop. 

‘I don’t think they love our country, they love themselves or their movement and it’s a sick move. 

‘I’m focused on winning an election. 

‘We have to beat Biden, he is the worst president in history. The borders are an embarrassment. 

‘People are coming from jails and mental institutions, nobody has seen anything like this. 

‘They are coming from jails and prisons and mental institutions and insane asylums and there are terrorists.

Voters in North Carolina will get to decide their party picks in the presidential race as well as several other statewide office primaries including Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Treasurer, Secretary of State, Supreme Court Justice and more.

North Carolina has a partially closed primary, meaning registered Republicans and Democrats can only vote in their party’s primary, but unaffiliated voters – which makes up the largest group of registered voters – can pick their primary ballot.

Because the Democratic presidential primary is not competitive more Republicans during early voting opted to vote in the GOP primary.

‘Are these unaffiliated voters going to be coming in to vote against Trump twice?’ asked Chris Cooper of Western Carolina University.

It is expected Trump will win the state GOP primary, but the question remains how many unaffiliated voters pull for Nikki Haley – particularly in the suburbs. 74 GOP delegates to the Republican National Convention are up for grabs and will be allocated proportional to the vote.

Ahead of Election Day, both Donald Trump and Nikki Haley visited the state. Trump held a rally on Saturday in Greensboro. Haley held events Friday and Saturday in Charlotte and Raleigh.

Vice President Kamala Harris was also in town before the primary, holding an intimate event in Durham to announce a $32 million to be distributed to women and minority led venture capital firms to invest in small businesses. It was her 10th visit to the state as vice president.

Nikki Haley began the year with $14 million in her campaign account and has vowed to continue her campaign as long as she is ‘competitive.’

But she has no public schedule of events that would establish her longer-term plans to continue the fight.

The former South Carolina governor said days ago that she would be in her home state, which has already voted, on Super Tuesday. Donald Trump is not expected to mathematically capture the nomination today.

Haley did announce a Louisiana leadership team, including several former members of Congress, on Monday, but no trip to the Pelican State.

Asked on CNN Monday if she could name states she could win and how many she could point to in order to justify staying in, Haley avoided a direct answer.

‘Well, we’ve said as long as we’re competitive, we have been in 10 states just in the past week. I just finished a rally here in Houston, Texas, we have well over 1,000 people show up,’ she said.

Her campaign did not respond to a request for information about her future public engagements.

Voters interviewed by DailyMail.com at a polling place in Huntington Beach, California mentioned Scott and only Scott as the most formidable choice for Trump.

‘I would like Tim Scott. Because he’s very honest, nice, guy and he’s all-out American I think. He really cares about America. And people,’ said 80-year-old Bridget Hawley, a Huntington Beach retiree.

Michael Mesbah, 32, who works in advertising, and Allyssa Mesbah, 29, a dancer are both supporting Trump and both first mentioned Trump as the best VP.

‘I really like Tim Scott,’ said Allyssa.

Her husband noted that there were a ‘lot of interesting potential candidates I raelly like.’

‘I think Tim Scott is probably a viable option,’ he said, but then name-dropped a more maverick pick.

‘I also think Tulsi Gabbard would be interesting,’ Michael said, referring to the former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii, who went from supporting progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders in the 2016 election to joining Trump’s MAGA crowd.

Donald Trump thumped Nikki Haley in the North Dakota caucus on Monday night in a preview of the dominant night he could have on Super Tuesday.

The former president had a staggering 84.6 percent of the vote while Haley, his final rival, had just 14.1 percent.

Thousands of voters from 15 states will head to the polls to cast their ballots on Super Tuesday in what could be the most consequential 24 hours of the Republican presidential race, especially for one candidate.

Will Donald Trump in a clean sweep of all the states? Can Nikki Haley possibly keep going if she has suffered a wave of defeats by the early hours of Wednesday morning?

With 865 delegates up for grabs, Haley will likely make her last stand on Tuesday against the former president.

If she is unable to earn enough delegates to remain viable in the race, Tuesday could be the last nail in the coffin of her flailing campaign.

After these contests, Trump stands with 273 delegates to Haley’s 43. The former United Nations Ambassador got a boost when she earned all 19 of the delegates from D.C. over the weekend.

This year, 15 states will vote on Super Tuesday: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia.
