ARIZONA ADDS THIRD POWERBALL DRAWING

The Arizona lottery has added in a third drawing every week.

The additional drawings, which take place on Mondays, will run according to the regular schedule.

Arizona Lottery Executive Director Gregg Edgar told ABC-15: “Our Powerball players love to pursue that jackpot and this going to give more opportunities for that jackpot to grow faster and larger.”

According to the Mega Millions website, the winning numbers for Friday, October 22 are 09, 14, 26, 29 and 66, and the Mega Ball was 22.

The Megaplier was 3X.

Brandon Thompson and Wyatt Close, both 19, won a $3million scratch-off lottery ticket in Tennessee.

The winning ticket was bought on October 1st, and it was a $30 Jumbo Bucks Ticket.

“I saw those black bold numbers and just started jumping,” said Close in a statement.

“I thought he was going to jump through the roof of the van,” said Thompson.

The teens said they plan on using their winnings to save and invest.

FLORIDA MAN WINS $1MILLION, PLANS TO UPGRADE TOOTHBRUSH

One Florida winner disclosed he is very excited to use some of his $1million winnings to purchase an electric toothbrush.

“I’m just looking forward to upgrading to an electric toothbrush and splurging on a good pair of flip flops,” said Brian Nelson.

Nelson opted for a lump sum payment of $795,000, after withholdings, according to Florida lottery officials.

TWO STATES HAD THEIR FIRST-EVER JACKPOT WINNERS IN 2020

In 2020, two states saw their very first Mega Millions jackpots: Arizona and Wisconsin.

According to the Mega Millions website, these jackpots came just a few months apart.

The Arizonan winner took home a $414million prize in the June 9 drawing.

In Wisconsin, a $120million jackpot was won on September 15.

There were three other jackpots awarded in 2020: two in New Jersey, and one in California.

FLORIDA WOMAN WINS LOTTERY TWICE

A Florida woman became an instant millionaire last month, when she played two $2million Mega Millions tickets from a local convenience store in Boca Raton.

Susan Fitton bought two tickets with the same numbers, which doubled her prize to $4million.
