What is NIHORT?
National Horticultural Research Institute is a national instate of Nigeria established in 1975 (43 years ago).
National Institute of Horticulture Research (Headquarters); In the form of a fruit and vegetable research and demonstration center, in a combination of the Food and Agriculture Organization, with the help of the United Nations Development Program, it was established in Ibadan in 1974. It reached the status of a national institution in June 1976. The agency’s headquarters is located on an area of 350 hectares in the Jericho Reserve Area, Idi-Ishin, Ibadan in the rainforest agroecology zone of Southwest Nigeria. To provide a national perspective, the agency has two options, located in the state of Emato in southeastern Nigeria, and the other located in Banawoda, Kano State.

B.Sc / HND / NCE.
National Diploma from a recognized institution.
West African School Certificate (WASC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English;

National Examination Council (NECO) with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings English language inclusive.
