What is NDA?
The official name of this Academy is Nigerian Defence Academy.
The Nigeria Defense Academy in Kaduna is the only military university in Nigeria . The academy has 5 years of training, which includes 4 years of academic study and 1 year of military training. One of the academy’s graduates is Muhammadu Buhari who is currently president of Nigeria.
The NDA was established in January 1964 as a refurbishment of the Royal British Army Training College (RMFTC), which was renamed the Nigerian Military Training College (NMTC) after independence. Military institutions train Nigerian Army Corps, Navy and Nigerian Air Force. The initial class was only 62 cadets, and the trainees were mostly Indian Army officers. The NDA expanded to all Nigerian coaching staff only in 1978. In 1981 he began training in bilateral training for foreign militants. In 1985 the academy began offering undergraduate programs to Army Officers in Training and now offers graduate studies for both Msc and Ph.D to both military and civilian students. The center’s mission remains a five-year cadet training for the “Regular Combat Course”, although from 2002, a four-year military program is also offered. In 2008, the total number of cadets was about 1500.

Requirements for 73rd Regular Course
Candidates eligible for 73 Regular Course admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) must have the following:
- Must be medically and physically fit and must be of good moral character.
- Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support any child or other individuals.
- Present a Certificate of indigeneship from the state government or local government area.
- Be at least 17 years old and NOT more than 21 years old as at the month of September in the year of entry into the Academy.
- Must have a minimum of 5 ordinary level credits at GCE, SSCE (WAEC, NECO, NBAIS and NABTEB) English language. Mathematics and three other subjects which are relevant to the intended programme at not more than two sittings.
- Must have passed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation examinations (UTME) and attain an acceptable minimum national standard (as determined by JAMB annual policy meeting) in English language. Mathematics and any other 2 subjects relevant to the proposed course of study as set out by the JAMB Brochure.
- Must NOT be less than 1.68 meters tall for male and 1.65 meters for female.
- French and Arabic, Madarin language is an added advantage.

Steps to Apply Online
- First visit to Nigerian Defence Academy application portal rcapplications.nda.edu.ng
- Click on “How to Apply” link
- Download and read application guide, application requirements and method of apply
- After understand you can proceed for application process.
1. Create Account
Now you need to create account with NDA portal rcapplications.nda.edu.ng. For creating account use only functional email id and mobile number. Fill credentials required to create account and click on “Register” button.
Please check your email to confirm your newly created account Note : The mail message might take about a minute, please be patient. In some cases, you might need to check your spam box depending on your email service provider
Click on verification link and you will see message “Your email has been successfully confirmed. Click on ‘Login’ below to access your account. Your account details have been sent to your registered email”
If you already created account then login with your credentials. After login you will be able to complete application form and pay fee to purchase application form. System will show you complete instructions about how to complete application form. Once understand and satisfied with the Nigerian Defence Academy application form click on submit button.

Once you are satisfied with the application, click on submit.
Purchase Form
Applicants can purchase their form online via the portal or via REMITA Retrieval Reference RRR at any bank in Nigeria. You must have completed the previous step “Account creation” before you can proceed to this. If you wish to pay Online, login to the application portal and choose ‘Pay Online’. Upload Documents
Candidates will be required to upload necessary documents. Candidates must bring along the originals of these documents for sighting during the interview. It is important to note that only after all the copies of your credentials have been uploaded and submitted alongside your application can the application process be deemed complete.
Review Your Application
After submission, your application will be reviewed by the appropriate admission officials. All application procedures must be completed on or before the application deadline.

Acknowledgement Form
Candidates are required to download an Acknowledgement Form after the successful submission of their online application.
