MTN Nigeria Will Provide A N5 Million Grant To Microbusinesses

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), nearly 5.5 million people—roughly three-quarters of the state’s labor force—own, run, or work for informal company organizations in Lagos alone.

This includes domestic workers, street hawkers, vendors, and artists, among others.

According to these numbers, MTN, it is clear that a sizeable portion of Nigerian business owners and entrepreneurs operate in the informal sector.

The Blow My Hustle initiative, which was started on October 19, 2022, intends to empower young Nigerians with scalable enterprises through capacity building and grants, according to MTN Nigeria, which stated that it is committed to empowering Nigerian businesses.

50 craftsmen and proprietors of unregistered enterprises will benefit from a one-time grant of N100,000 from MTN through the Pulse “Nominate Your Hustler” initiative, a part of the Blow My Hustle campaign, in order to expand their operations and increase profitability.

The program asks people to suggest artisans or hustlers in the unorganized sector, such hairdressers, barbers, and vulcanizers, who are dedicated to their work but may use a grant to expand their hustle.

Anyone can submit a 60-second video on their personal Instagram or Twitter page with the hashtag #MTNPulseBlowMyHustle to suggest a hustler for this prize, excluding the hustler themselves. The person making the nomination must describe the nominee’s business in the video, including its location, type, and importance to society. For the nominee to be eligible for the grant, the video must be sufficiently illustrative and persuasive.

The selection process for this grant is based on videos that are reliable and compelling. According to MTN, a panel of judges will review each video entry to ensure parity and fairness.
