‘Iwobi Can’t Cross The Ball’ – Everton, Super Eagles Fans Reveal Biggest Weakness In RWB’s Game
For the first time in the Premier League era, Everton and Burnley shared the spoils after playing to a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon – their first draw in thirteen meetings in the English top-flight.
In front of watching England manager Gareth Southgate, Burnley’s Robert Brady got the striking going with a fine hit in the third minute, a goal cancelled out by Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the closing seconds of the first half.
For the third consecutive game, manager Carlo Ancelotti deployed Alex Iwobi as a makeshift wing-back, this time operating on the right flank.
The Nigeria international improved compared to his performance in the previous match against Leeds United but didn’t reach the heights of the 3-2 win at Fulham.
Iwobi was an important attacking outlet for the Toffees but his inability to deliver precise crosses into the box let him down.
Some Everton and Super Eagles fans have pointed out that his failure to put in good crosses is his biggest weakness as a wing-back.
