Hilary Duff shows off her new ‘Mother’ tattoo and her seven-month-old daughter Mae’s pierced ears

Hilary Duff became a mom of three seven months ago.

And on Monday, the 34-year-old actress took to her Instagram Story to show off her parental pride with a new ‘Mother’ tattoo.

The Lizzie Maguire star also revealed that she got her baby daughter Mae’s ears pierced.

Hilary shared a black and white closeup of the new ink in which the word ‘Mother’ was seen on the side of her neck in black script and tagged tattoo artist Victoria Do of the New York-based Bang Bang Tattoo in her post.

According to the tattoo parlor’s website, owner Keith ‘Bang Bang’ McCurdy has tattooed ‘Rihanna in the tropics, Lebron James in his basement, Cara Delevingne on a roof, Katy Perry in Stockholm’s Abba Museum, and Justin Bieber on a plane at 30,000 feet.’

Hilary is a big fan of body art and the new ink marks the 20th tattoo for the Younger star.

In 2019, she got tattoo of a sun. In 2015, Hilary appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres who and revealed that she and her sister got matching tattoos that read ‘Thick As Thieves.’

She got ink of a wishbone to symbolize good luck on her right wrist in 2011. In 2012, she had celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo tattoo a bird tattoo on her right arm next to her ‘Stand by Me’ tattoo. Duff told Ellen that was her favorite tattoo.

The star and her best friend Alanna Masterson both had two cent coined tattooed on their left arms in 2013 and an image of a ghost with the wording ‘ride or die’ in 2014.

She also has a tattoo of her son Luca’s name along with a heart.

In September 2020, Duff’s husband Matthew Koma shared a cheeky Instagram post in which he revealed that he had his wife’s name tattooed on his backside.

On Monday, Hilary also posted a photo featuring her daughter Mae’s pierced ears as the adorable infant lay on a cushion.

She wrote, ‘Yes! I pierced her ears today. Can’t wait for the internet to go call me a child abuser…again. lesss go,’ adding a crossed fingers emoji.

Hilary and her husband Matthew share daughters Banks, three, and Mae together. She also has nine-year-old son Luca with her ex-husband Mike Comrie.

In her Instagram story, The What Dreams Are Made Of songstress also shared a black and white photo of her spouse, writing, ‘Missing papa. Who’s coming to LA?’

Koma is currently on tour with his band Winnetka Bowling League, which will stop in Los Angeles on November 11.

Duff later posted videos from his performance in Portland. She wrote, ‘@winnetkabowlingleagure was absolutely EVERYTHING tonight in Portland, so glad I finally get to see them live’ along with the word ‘Husband.’

On Sunday, Hilary shared a new post on her Instagram page in which she was seen spending quality time with Mae.

The Texas native was in bliss as she bottle fed her daughter in an Instagram snap she posted Sunday.

‘My second daughter…little Mae James,’ she captioned the snap. ‘feeling mushy and peaceful … happy Sunday !’

The Disney vet was recently spotted shopping at a farmer’s market with all three of her children.

Just days earlier she had posted a heart-melting Instagram album of little Mae sitting amid a few pumpkins out in an autumnal display.

‘A new record in lateness posting this….#3rdbabyproblems MJ stop growing!!! We’ve been loving this little lady for 7 months already!’ she wrote in the caption.

Earlier last month Hilary could be spotted on her social media enjoying some family time with her mother Susan and her eldest daughter.

Susan, Hilary and Banks were taking in the delights of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and even spent time in one of the aircraft.

Shortly after Banks was born Hilary hit the headlines by revealing she had blended the placenta into a smoothie and drunk it.

She went public with Mae’s birth in March by posting a snap of Banks in the bath captioned: ‘I’m a big sister ……. marinating on how I feel about that!’

Her upcoming work includes a gender-flipped sequel series to How I Met Your Mother called How I Met Your Father.

Earlier this year Hilary’s show Younger – whose leading lady was Broadway actress Sutton Foster – aired its series finale on TV Land.

Creator Darren Star of Sex And The City fame then shared that plans for a potential spin-off about Hilary’s character are unlikely to come to fruition.

During an interview with TV Line the subject of the possible spin-off came up and he said: ‘I think that’s pretty much off the table.’

Meanwhile there had been plans for a Lizzie McGuire reboot and shooting had even begun prior to the COVID-19 pandemic but that project has also died.

Showrunner Terri Minsky was fired last January and then in December Hilary announced that the show had been canceled entirely.

The month after Terri was fired Hilary hinted at some of the creative issues behind the scenes by writing on Instagram: ‘I’d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30 year old’s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating.’
