Nigeria Government Wants to Expand Survival Fund Access

The Nigeria government intends to include more people in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Survival Fund established previously.

As of now, over 1,258,183 beneficiaries have benefited from the fund.

Maryam Katagam, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment, has advised micro and small business owners not to pay anyone in order to receive payments from the government.

Survival Fund Application Requirements

  • You must have a business with employees, or own one.
  • 45% of the beneficiaries will be women, 5% will be those with special needs.
  • If it is a company, must be registered with the Nigeria Companies Registration Authority, have at least three employees, have a Nigerian head, and have a bank BVN number.
  • The government is focusing on transport operators such as bus and taxi drivers, Uber, Bolt, and karina drivers.
  • Small business owners like plumbers, bricklayers, electricians, etc. are also eligible to apply.

When is survival fund registration starting?

An announcement is going to be made very soon. Those who have not yet registered for Survival Funds will be prompted to do so once re-registration has been completed. The vast majority of individuals who have not yet been issued a CAC will be required to apply for one before today. In addition to this, it indicates that there is still a limit of people who can register in order to fill up their own fields.

How Survival Fund Process Work

Step 1: Onboard
After completing the Survival Fund registration, you will onboard by adding information about your company, banking, and staff. You will receive a confirmation number on your phone and use it to activate your profile.

Step 2: Register Your Organisation in Survival Fund

After successful login, the next step is to register your company. You will need some fundamental information like a CAC registration form to finish the financial statement.

Step 3: Get Paid
Your application will be considered for payment once it’s verified that the information provided during registration meets the selection criteria.
