The 95th Academy Awards ceremony was held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
The event was broadcast live on ABC, the exclusive rights holder of the Oscars ceremony until 2028. The event celebrated the best films of 2022 and was hosted by American television host Jimmy Kimmel.
The nominees were announced on February 13, 2023, with films like The Banshees of Inisherin, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and The Power of the Dog leading with multiple nominations.
Arguably the most coveted award of the night, the Oscar for Best Picture, was won by “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, and produced by Jonathan Wang. The film dominated the ceremony with seven wins, including Best Director for Kwan and Scheinert, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Production Design, and Best Original Score.
Other notable winners of the night include Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan from “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” who won Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor respectively.
