Allnigeriasoccer.com‘s round-up on the players of Nigerian descent who were on target for their respective clubs in English Football League matches on Friday, April 15.

In a Championship clash at The Hawthorns, West Brom with Semi Ajayi going the full ninety needed a stoppage time goal to beat Blackpool 2-1.

Former Nigeria U20 international Marvin Ekpiteta reacted quicker than Ajayi to slot home in the 53rd minute after a free-kick was lifted into the box – his fifth league goal of the season and the Seasiders equaliser.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield Town and Queens Park Rangers shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw at John Smith’s Stadium.

Luke Amos ensured that the two teams were level at the interval when he calmly slotted home in the 43rd minute to make it 1-1.

A division lower, Charlton Athletic lost 3-2 to Morecambe at the Valley in London.

Chuks Aneke came off the bench for the Addicks in the 75th minute and six minutes later he closed the scoring when he guided a header home from twelve yards.

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Kion Etete netted a crucial equaliser as Cheltenham Town and Gillingham played out a 2-2 draw at Jonny-Rocks Stadium in Gloucestershire.

Twelve minutes from time, the striker planted an unstoppable header into the net to take his tally for the season to nine goals in all competitions.

At the Eco-Power Stadium, West Ham United loanee Mipo Odubeko and Doncaster Rovers suffered A 2-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers.

Odubeko thought he had salvaged a point for Doncaster Rovers after getting on the scoresheet in the 77th minute, only for the visitors to retake the lead a minute later.

In League Two, David Ajiboye‘s eighth goal of the season helped Sutton United beat Mansfield Town 3-2 at One Call Stadium.

Three minutes after the restart, Ajiboye doubled the visitors advantage as he slotted in at the back post.
