Dog the Bounty Hunter update – Brian Laundrie’s lawyer slams Dog & John Walsh amid his honeymoon hunt with Francie Frane

DARK PAST

Although he did not commit the murder himself, Dog was convicted in the 1976 killing of Jerry Oliver.

Oliver’s brother Danny told the New York Post:

“We don’t like that Dog and want nothing to do with him.

A man claiming to be Oliver’s nephew once wrote: “The ‘DOG’ might be making money just from always mention[ing] how he got started catching criminals [but] my grandmother lost a Son, my mother lost a Brother, and I lost a Uncle who cared very much about his girls & sons. Just know GOD knows DOG is still part of a murder plot.”

‘I NEED THE ATTENTION’

Dog spoke with the New York Times in 2020 about his love for the spotlight.

He said: “I need the attention. I wake up every day and say, ‘Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the baddest bounty hunter of them all?’”

According to the New York Post, Dog also said God “promised to make him famous.”

HOW DID DOG MEET HIS WIFE FRANCIE FRANCE?

The couple met in 2020 when Dog called her husband Bob to do some yard work at his Colorado home.

Francie informed Dog that Bob had died of cancer several months before Beth’s death.

The two began talking and grew close.

While Dog’s family didn’t approve of his romance with ex-girlfriend Moon Angell, his daughter Lyssa and family friend Rainy Robinson exclusively told The Sun that they approve of his relationship with Francie.

DOG WANTS TO GET BACK TO HIS HONEYMOON

Dog revealed in an exclusive interview with The Sun that he left his honeymoon prematurely so he could capture Laundrie.

Dog said he and his wife followed the case “because of what was happening, because they went through Colorado and were close to us. So we followed it then all of a sudden all my fans are like ‘Dog Dog Dog this is up your alley!'”

“So one of the last reasons that I want to catch him- so I could continue my honeymoon.  I hope that’s not any disrespect to anybody involved in this case because it’s terrible, but that’s where we stand now, in our honeymooning.”

NOT GIVING UP

Dog announced on Monday that he had hurt his ankle while searching for Laundrie in Florida’s Fort De Soto Park.

While it was initially reported he had ended his search as a result, a spokesperson clarified that he isn’t “giving up” the hunt.

“Dog and Francie Chapman need to attend to a variety of matters at home in Colorado, including Dog’s ankle injury which occurred during the search,” a spokesperson said.

“Dog and the team will continue to search until Brian Laundrie is found,” the spokesperson added.

‘AIDED AND ABETTED A MURDERER’

Dog the Bounty Hunter said Gabby’s autopsy makes the Laundrie family look bad.

“The corner’s report is not good for the entire Laundrie family. Brian’s only chance is to turn himself in – he cannot run forever,” Dog said.

“The Laundrie’s have stonewalled Gabby’s family because they knew what Brian had done. And it looks like they helped him run.

“And now it seems like, based on the [autopsy] report and coupled with their behavior, that they have most likely aided and abetted a murderer.”

DOG SAYS ‘STRANGULATION IS NOT AN ACCIDENT’

The reality TV investigator made the remarks in an interview with WFLA  just hours after Gabby’s autopsy was released by Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue.

“Strangulation is not an accident,” he continued. “Right now it looks very bad for the Laundrie family.”

Dog then urged Brian to “make a deal” with investigators and “turn yourself in now.”

SABOTAGING THE SEARCH?

Former FBI special agent for 20 years Matthew Young slammed Dog the Bounty Hunter in an interview with the New York Post.

“He sounds like he’s going out there trying to dig around for information that could, at times, sabotage what law enforcement is doing,” he said.

“Often, it’s not helpful to law enforcement techniques and operations.”

MEXICO ARREST

Dog was arrested in Mexico when he was famously hunting Andrew Luster, who had escaped to Puerto Vallarta, after being charged with multiple sexual assaults using the date-rape drug GHB.

Duane tracked him down but was stopped at the US/Mexico border by Mexican authorities because bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico.

After being arrested in Mexico, Dog paid the bail to get out of Mexican prison for both himself and his crew. However, they escaped Mexico for the US, making them fugitives themselves.

CAN’T OWN A GUN

Because Dog has served prison time for a murder charge, he is forbidden from ever owning a firearm, which is why he uses a taser when his colleagues brandish guns.

While he was serving time in Texas, he prevented a prison break-out, tackling an inmate to the ground, saving the prisoner from being shot by guards.

GUILTY OF FIRST-DEGREE MURDER

As a young biker, Dog was sat waiting in a car when his friend accidentally shot and killed 69-year-old Jerry Oliver, an alleged pimp and drug dealer, while they were fighting over a cannabis deal.

Although Dog played no direct role in the murder, he was tried for the crime under Texas rules that anyone involved indirectly in a killing can be held responsible.

He was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to five years behind bars in Texas State Penitentiary – a conviction which understandably turned his entire life upside down.

He was released after serving just a year and a half of his sentence and chose a career on the other side of the law.

HOW MANY PEOPLE HAS DOG CAPTURED?

According to an interview published in The New York Times back in January of 2020, Chapman has captured over 10,000 fugitives throughout his career.

He is best known for his successful capture of Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Mexico back in 2003.

DOG ON WHETHER BRIAN IS COMMUNICATING WITH HIS PARENTS

The reality star speculated on whether Brian Laundrie could be communicating with his parents.

“If Brian is communicating with his parents through their lawyer, we’ve got a problem [with the] lawyer,” he said.

“This client right privileges [have] gone a little bit too far. I really don’t think the lawyer is that stupid.

“I do think … he might be like, ‘I don’t want to hear that [or], ‘You can’t tell me that kind of stuff,’ because he’s come up with a few lies that I discovered, where they were where the sister was,” Dog alleged.

“They were still here on the night and the next day.”

WHAT WOULD DOG SAY TO BRIAN’S PARENTS?

Dog told The Sun what he planned to say to Brian Laundrie’s family when he first knocked on their door.

“I know what it is to have a son in jail, and I know every time they hear an ambulance there or siren, we can’t tell the difference,” Dog said.

“I know a lot of things that, over the 40 years of experience I have catching criminals, that I know what to tell a parent.

“Fifty to 70 percent of the parents don’t tell me where they’re at,” Dog continued.

“They will sit right there and lie to me like crazy. After I capture their son or daughter and then they say, ‘Dog, we knew.’

“And I say, ‘I know.’ And then they say, ‘What do you expect? It’s my child.”

WILL DOG’S FOOTAGE OF THE LAUNDRIE SEARCH BE USED FOR TV?

As far as allegations that he is using the video he is capturing along the way in his search for Brian, Dog admits at some point, it may be used in a show, but that he’s not currently producing a show.

“You guys know shooting a show, you get three camera guys, at least two sound guys, a producer, a showrunner and a light guy. We got Francie herself. And my brother Nick, who’s been with me many years.”

“No, we’re not putting this together for a show. Now would we use some of it? Absolutely. This is good stuff,” Dog added.

DOG DENIES HE PITCHED A SHOW ABOUT LAUNDRIE SEARCH

Dog has denied claims that he has pitched a show on the search for Brian Laundrie to the A&E network, calling the rumors an “outright lie”.

During an exclusive sit-down with The Sun, Dog said “Anything about us ever going to A&E, that is a lie. Will this search cause us to get a show? I doubt it.”

The reality star said that while he dismisses claims he is pitching a new show, he affirms that they “got good ratings everywhere. So, is it going to be easy for us to show? Absolutely.”

NORTH PORT POLICE REFUTE CAMPSITE REPORTS

Investigators appeared to refute the alleged finding of a fresh campsite at the Carlton Reserve.

Josh Taylor, a spokesperson for the North Port Police Department, told CNN: “No campsite was found out there.

“Is it possible that they thought that there might be a campsite out there or something they may have seen from the air but when they got on the ground that’s not what it turned out to be?”

“Sure, I think that’s a possibility,” Taylor added.

DOG SAID BRIAN TOOK MURDER BOOKS ‘TO HEART’

Dog said that he and his team build a profile of the fugitive they are trying to catch, honing in on their interests and hobbies.

He told The Sun: “I’m thinking more and more about him being maybe a serial killer, not just a killer of Gabby. The books he read are unbelievable.”

Dog recalled that he would get “mad” at his kids for reading the Dungeon and Dragons stories as he’s a believer in Jesus.

The reality TV star claimed: “A couple of the books that he’s been reading are 10 times worse than Dungeon and Dragons. This kid, Brian has taken those books, obviously to heart.”

“And this is what happens when your kid is looking at those kinds of things.

“He just overnight just didn’t become a killer. A killer is made, and he is built to be or she, a killer.

DOG: CHRIS LAUNDRIE JOINED THE SEARCH FOR HIS SON ‘TOO LATE’

He said: “So Chris, the father, went out looking for Brian, the son. It’s a little too late. Don’t you think?”

Dog also said parents of suspects usually only help in negotiations.

He added: “I have heard when they go get a parent, like the son is robbing a bank and they want to negotiate for the kid to come out so they will get mom and mom talks to the kid.”

“I’ve never heard of the police departments, and I’m sure it wasn’t the FBI, that take the father on the ride-along.

“You know that’s like, well, they get must out some good friends.”

DOG COMPARES BRIAN TO ‘WIFE-KILLER’ SCOTT PETERSON

The reality TV star said that Chris Laundrie joining the hunt for his son last week “fits the MO of most people that…are guilty of something.”

Dog told The Sun: “Most of the guys that kill their wives and their family, they hide up for three or four days and then protesters start and the rumors start.

“And people are ‘Well, Scott Peterson, if you don’t know where she’s at, why aren’t you out there helping?’”

Peterson was found guilty of murdering his eight-month pregnant wife Laci and unborn son in 2002.

DOG LOST HIS DAUGHTER AT 23

The 68-year-old told The Sun through tears that Gabby’s father lost his daughter and that “she was the same age as Barbara Katy” who Dog lost in a tragic car accident at 23-years-old.

“Dog, Dog, Dog the ‘D’ is in the sky,” Dog said, as he grew more emotional.

He said the pull to jump into the search was just too much.

“Then we came down here and I said to Francie ‘Honey, it’s eight hours away. Honey, I need it so bad. My skin is crawling, I’m getting goose bumps. I’m having those dreams FREEZE I GOT YOU BOY! I’m having those kinds of dreams Francie.”

Last week, Dog accused Brian’s attorney of unsolicited attacks against him and his pursuit to help bring his client to justice.

“That Dog doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” Steven Bertolino said in a statement.

HOW MUCH HAS THE SEARCH FOR BRIAN LAUNDRIE COST?

The 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve is home to alligators, venomous snakes, Florida panthers, and bears.

It’s thought that millions of dollars have already been spent on the operation.

Search and rescue expert Mike Hadsell told the Daily Mail: “I can accurately estimate they are spending $200,000 a day on this search.”
