Dancing with the Stars 2021 LIVE

DANCING with the Stars is back again tonight, with contestants tackling “Grease Night”.

Olivia Jade, Jojo Siwa, Cody Rigsby, and the rest of the cast performed songs from the hit film, with Olivia Newton-John appearing as a guest of honor on this week’s DWTS.

Monday’s show came after Matt James and Brian Austin Greene were eliminated last week, much to the surprise of fans watching at home.

They were sent home on Tuesday, concluding the Disney-themed dance week.

The hit show’s 30th season premiered on ABC on Monday, September 20, 2021.

Last season, Kaitlyn Bristowe and her partner Artem Chigvintsev won the dance competition while Hannah Brown and her partner Alan Bersten won the year before.

  • SANDY

    Country singer Jimmie Allen and partner Emma Slater danced the Foxtrot to the ballad originally sang by John Travolta, Sandy.

    Allen, who played Danny, said he’s watched Grease “hundreds of times”

    The singer also thanked fans for their well wishes after he welcomed a baby.

  • PIE TO THE FACE

    Suni and Sasha ended their performance with a pie to the pro dancer’s face.

    “You got your cake and ate it,” joked judge Bruno Tonioli.

    Carrie Ann told Suni her moves could still be “more aggressive.”

    The pair scored a 36, with every judge giving them a nine.

  • BORN TO HAND JIVE

    Gymnast Suni Lee and Sasha Farber danced the Charleston to Born To Hand Jive.

    Suni played Cha-Cha and Sasha played Danny Zuko.

    The olympic medalist shared that her high school experience was very different from the one depicted in the movie Grease, as she had to sacrifice her social life for gymnastics.

    Sunni added that was concerned about recreating Cha-Cha’s sassy attitude.

  • SOMETHING MISSING

    Len Goodman said Amanda Kloots and Brian Bersten were “just fantastic” in their Beauty School Dropout performance.

    But Derek Hough said something was missing for him to give the pair a ten.

    “Grease is the night for you,” Carrie Ann said to Olivia.

    The pair scored a 39, with every judge but Derek giving them a ten.

    It was the highest score of the season so far.

  • BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT

    Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten danced the Viennese Waltz to Beauty School Dropout.

    Kloots, who sported a pink wig to play Frenchie, said there was “something iconic” about Grease.

    The Broadway star even got to chat with the actres who played Frenchie, Didi Conn.

  • A BIT RUSHED

    Judge Carrie Ann said The Miz and Witney “rushed” through half the song.

    Len Goodman agreed.

    Derek, on his part, said The Miz’s dance “tonight lost a bit of the clarity” but it was “fun.”

    The judges also congratulated Witney for her birthday.

    The pair scored a 32- four 8s.

  • GREASED LIGHTNIN’

    WWE star The Miz and partner Witney Carson performed the fourth dance of the night, to Greased Lightnin’.

    The Miz played Danny, saying “this is the scene I remember most from the film.”

    “Danny’s just cool,” he added.

    The Miz dedicated the performance to his wife.

  • HE TRIES SO HARD

    While the judges appreciated Iman’s commitment, they agreed that it wasn’t the best performance.

    “I could really feel the sadness of a love story,” said judge Bruno Tonioli.

    “It wasn’t the best dance suited for you,” added Carrie Ann.

    Len Goodman said he found it hard criticizing Iman because “he tries so hard.”

    They scored a 27.

  • HOPELESSLY DEVOTED TO YOU

    NBA star Iman Shumpert and Daniella’ Karagach were the third couple to perform on Monday’s Grease night.

    The pair danced a Viennese Waltz to Hopelessly Devoted To You, the ballad made famous by Olivia Newton John and John Travolta.

    Shumpert said the song “sums up the reality of love,” and added that he could relate it to his relationship with his wife Teyana Taylor.

  • MELORA PLAYS RIZZO

    Melora Hardin played Rizzo as she performed to Grease’s Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee with partner Artem Chigvintsev.

    She wore a long purple silk dress while Artem sported the classic Greaser outfit.

    “You are the gidt that keeps on giving,” said judge Derek Hough to Malora.

    But he noted that her performance “it got a little congested.”

    The couple received nines from all judges.

    They received the season’s first perfect 10 during last week’s show.

  • TYRA’S FIRST TIME WATCHING GREASE

    The former model confessed during Monday’s show that she only watched the movie Grease, the theme for the week, this past weekend in preparation.

    Judge Derek Hough expressed disbelief at her confession.

    “I know!” replied Tyra.

    Fans online quickly reacted.

  • JUDGES PLEASED WITH OLIVIA JADE

    Judge Len Goodman said Olivia is becoming a “hell of a dancer” after her performance of Grease’s “Summer Nights.”

    Derek Hough added that she was “a perfect Sandy.”

    The couple received a 9 score from all judges – it’s their highest score of the season.

  • ONE OF OLIVIA’S FAVORITE MOVIES

    Influencer Olivia Jade and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy opened the night with the first performance.

    They danced to the first song heard on Grease, “Summer Nights”

    Olivia said Grease was one of her favorite movies and she’s watched it “45 to 50 times.”

    The performance songs will go in the order they appear in the movie.

  • SANDY APPEARS

    Tyra sported a red cheerleader outfit during the show’s opening.

    The former model introduced four-time Grammy -winner and Grease star Olivia Newton John.

    “I’m so thrilled and honored that you’re celebrating Grease tonight,” she said.

    “I hope you have as much fun as I did,” she added.

  • GREASE NIGHT KICKS OFF

    This week’s Dancing with the Stars has officially kicked off – and the stars will be dancing to classic songs from the movie Grease.

    The group opening number featured the iconic Pink Ladies and the Greaser boys.
