Brooklyn Beckham shares a cuddle with wife Nicola Peltz as his dad David sheds a tear for the Queen

Brooklyn Beckham cuddled up to his wife Nicola Peltz on Friday as they shared a smitten snap from bed – entangling their arms around one another, as the heiress posted the moment to her 2.7M Instagram followers.

But across the pond, the budding chef’s dad David was pictured shedding a tear in Westminster Hall as he mourned Queen Elizabeth II – taking the day to pay his respects by her coffin.

It comes as rumours of a rift between the Beckhams and their eldest son’s wife grow – reportedly leaving his mother Victoria ‘heartbroken’.

In the cuddled-up snap, a shirtless Brooklyn, 23, wrapped both arms around his wife, 27, as he nestled his face into her neck.

A glimpse of his impressive collection of tattoos could be seen in the shot – with a whopping 70 out of the 100 inkings dedicated to Nicola.

Nicola layered a ribbed grey vest top over a black bra, placing an arm over her husband’s head as she rested her face on his.

The natural beauty had her brunette locks left down, as the pair appeared to be enjoying a nap in their US base.

Meanwhile across the pond, Brooklyn’s football pro dad David, 47, was paying his respects to the late Queen Elizabeth II – following her death on Thursday 8 September.

Sportsman David waited for 13 hours in the five-mile long queue to pay his respects to the monarch after arriving at 2am, and even shed a tear when he reached the inside.

The father-of-four finally reached the Queen’s coffin about 3.30pm after lining up, and took just a few seconds to bow his head before moving on to make way for the people behind him.

And the stark contrast in Friday plans comes as the rumoured tension between Brooklyn’s family and his wife grows – with recent reports claiming that his parents are ‘devastated’.

Brooklyn is the eldest of Victoria and David’s brood, who also share 19-year-old Romeo, Cruz, 17  and Harper Seven, 11.

The family of six are famously very close knit, with Victoria and her photographer-turned-chef son historically sharing a close relationship.

But friends say she is deeply saddened that Brooklyn did not join the Beckham family holiday this summer, which saw them travel across Europe on a lavish yacht.

Before the holiday began in July, sources close to Brooklyn confirmed that the newlyweds would not be joining, confessing that ‘they would be remaining in Los Angeles’ once their honeymoon came to an end.

Instead, youngest son Cruz, 17, took his girlfriend Tana Holding for the duration of the trip, while Romeo joined them in Miami when his footballing commitments allowed him to.

Victoria’s upset comes amid revelations that tensions between the Beckhams and the Peltzes were created because Nicola ‘had no intention’ of wearing a wedding dress designed by Victoria, 48, at the no-expense-spared nuptials on Palm Beach, Florida.

Nicola later gave an interview insisting that ditching Victoria’s offer was not designed to be a slight against her new mother-in-law.

‘I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,’ she told Variety last month.

But one insider said Nicola ‘never’ intended to wear Victoria Beckham at her wedding.

‘She was always just going to let her design something. But she was never going put that on her,’ the source said. ‘She has too many actually talented designer friends.

‘It’s like when you have an in-law, and they say they make the best meatballs, you hate meatballs, but you let them cook it anyway. That’s exactly what happened.

‘She was never, ever going to wear it.’

Another source with knowledge of the dress controversy was led to believe Nicola really was considering wearing her mother-in-law’s design, but was left in the lurch at the ‘last minute’.

‘Valentino was concerned that they didn’t’ have enough time to do the dress because Victoria didn’t tell the Peltzes that her atelier couldn’t make the dress for Nicola until the last minute,’ the second source said.

After the dress drama unfolded, Nicola became offended when David and Victoria’s close friend ​​Marc Anthony gave a gushing speech at her wedding – all about Victoria, according to one insider.

‘It was totally just an ode to Victoria and how awesome she is. Nicola loves to be the center of attention, especially on her wedding day. So this really, really p***ed her off,’ the source said.

‘She stormed off in the middle of her wedding reception with [sister] Brittany and her mom, and was crying her eyes out.’

Another source agreed Nicola was upset during the reception – but said it wasn’t because Anthony was gushing about Victoria.

This insider claimed that Posh Spice stole the newlyweds’ First Dance song for her own mother-son dance moments before Brooklyn and Nicola were meant to two-step in front of their guests.

The First Dance song was Anthony’s ‘You Sang To Me’. The romantic love song includes the lyrics ‘Now I’m crazy for your love’, ‘When I called you late last night you see I was falling into love’ and ‘Girl, I live for how you make me feel’.

A source at the wedding told DailyMail.com: ‘Marc asked Nicola and Brooklyn to pick their favourite song to dedicate to them, and that one was their favourite.

‘Nicola left the room because she and Brooklyn thought Marc was introducing them for a special dance to a love song the couple had chosen,’ the second source said.

‘But without any warning and at the request of Victoria, Marc switched it to a mother-son dance using the same song.

‘Most of the guests could tell something off had happened. It was uncomfortable for the couple who were thinking it was to be a special moment for them.’

This insider also claimed that Grammy-winning Latin pop star Anthony was paid a handsome sum by the Peltz family to appear and perform with a band, despite his close friendship with David.

A source close to the Peltzes claimed that Nicola was upset over the alleged song-stealing, and not Marc’s speech.

‘Brooklyn and Nicola knew Marc Anthony was close to the Beckhams and would of course be complementary to them in his talk. If Nicola had been concerned about that, her father would not have paid to have Marc Anthony and his band perform,’ the source said.

It has also been revealed that Brooklyn and Nicola’s first dance song was ‘hijacked’ and played for Victoria and Brooklyn in a ‘mother-son moment’.

The pair are said to have chosen Marc Anthony’s ‘You Sang To Me’ for their first dance, with the musician, who is a close friend of Victoria’s, playing it for the former Spice Girl and her son instead.

A source told MailOnline that this mood led to Nicola ‘storming off and crying’ during her wedding day.

And there was further turmoil after fashion designer Victoria did not invite her daughter-in-law to her upcoming show at Paris Fashion Week.

One friend told the Daily Mail: ‘Victoria loves having all of her children around her, it is how she loves to spend her time the most.

‘She has always been so warm and welcoming to her sons’ girlfriends and absolutely adored Nicola from day one.

‘But things have got tricky and it is upsetting for her, she is heartbroken. She and Brooklyn have always had such a close relationship, he was her comfort blanket when things were difficult in the Beckham marriage.

‘She would also take Brooklyn to events as he was growing up where she would describe him as her date. She has found all of this very difficult.’

Victoria recently reached out to congratulate son Brooklyn on his recent joint Vogue interview with wife Nicola – but failed to mention her daughter-in-law amid the feud claims.

The fashion designer took to Instagram on earlier this month to share an image from his Vogue Hong Kong spread, excitedly writing: ‘So proud!!’ before tagging her son and the publication and adding a pink love heart.

While David also uploaded another image of their eldest child and wrote ‘looking good Bust’, with Victoria also sharing the same message.

However, despite Brooklyn, 23, taking part in a joint interview and photoshoot with his new wife his mother failed to acknowledged her participation.

Former pop star Victoria is concerned over how it will affect her closeness with photographer-turned-chef Brooklyn, and is said to be ‘distraught and fearful’, it has been reported.

Mrs Beckham has relied on her eldest child for support while her football-playing husband travelled the world, and their relationship has previously been described as ‘inseparable’, according to Mail+.
