Betting Tips: Man Utd To Drop Points Plus Other Picks Of The Weekend :: Nigerian Football News

After another exciting midweek round of action in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, attention returns to the domestic scene across Europe.

This weekend’s fixtures are before the final round of international break for the year. And in its usual tradition, Soccernet.ng provides betting tips for some of the games in major European leagues.

Everton vs Man Utd(Premier League): It has been a tough week for Manchester United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following losses to Arsenal in the Premier League and Istanbul Başakşehir in the Champions League.

There are rumours that the Norwegian could get the boot should his side suffer a third consecutive loss when they take on Everton in Saturday’s lunchtime kickoff.

The Toffees themselves have not fared better recently despite their impressive start to the season. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have lost their last two league games and have picked up just one point from their previous three.

Match Facts

Man Utd have won their last six away matches (Premier League).

Man Utd have been drawing at half time and winning at full time in their last three away matches (Premier League)

Everton are undefeated in 14 of their last 15 home matches (Premier League).

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Everton’s last four home games (Premier League).

Man Utd are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 matches against Everton in all competitions.

Betting Tips: United have not won at home in the league this season, but their away form is impressive. However, Everton will also be eager to end a run of two losses, which makes the game delicately poised.

It is hard to predict a winner in this one, but expect both teams to score. (Both teams to score or over 2.5)

Chelsea vs Sheffield United (Premier League): Following an indifferent start to the season, Chelsea appear to have hit their stride, and will be confident of getting a win against one of the sides yet to win a game in the league this season.

Sheffield had a brilliant campaign on their return to the top-flight last season, but this season, they have struggled so far with just one point from seven games.

Match Facts

Sheff Utd have lost nine of their last ten matches (Premier League).

Chelsea have seen over 2.5 goals in their last three matches against Sheff Utd in all competitions.

Sheff Utd have lost with a one-goal margin in five of their last six matches (Premier League).

Chelsea are undefeated in their last five matches (Premier League).

Betting Tips: Chelsea go into the clash following 3-0 wins over Burnley and Rennes respectively. The Blues should feel confident of another commanding performance against the Blades. (Chelsea win)

Barcelona vs Real Betis(La Liga): Barcelona have had a perfect start to their Champions League campaign, but it is the opposite in La Liga, where they sit in 12th place with eight points from six matches.

The Catalan giants have lost their last two games in the league, and are already chasing arch-rivals, Real Madrid at this early stage of the season.

Ronald Koeman’s men could, however, bounce back from those two losses when they host Real Betis. Betis were 3-1 winners over Elche last time out, but they sit seventh with 12 points from eight games.

Match Facts

Barcelona have seen over 2.5 goals in 19 of their last 22 matches against Real Betis in all competitions.

Barcelona have scored at least three goals in ten of their last 11 home matches against Real Betis in all competitions.

Barcelona have won 12 of their last 14 matches against Real Betis in all competitions.

Betting Tips: On paper, Barcelona are favourites, but Betis could be a tricky side, while the Blaugrana haven’t been convincing in the league so far. So this one could be a match full of goals (Over 2.5)

Atletico Madrid vs Cadiz(La Liga): Atletico Madrid secured an impressive away win at El Sadar Stadium last week. Rojiblancos defeated Osasuna by 3-1 to move into the top four places.

However, they were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw in their Champions League encounter against Lokomotiv Moscow on Wednesday.

But they turn their focus to La Liga as they host newly-promoted Cadiz at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday night.  Last time Cadiz went to the capital, they stunned champions, Real Madrid by a lone goal victory. So Diego Simeone’s men will be wary of their opponents on Saturday.

Match Facts

Atletico are undefeated in their last 22 matches (LaLiga).

Cadiz have kept a clean sheet in their last five away matches (LaLiga).

Atletico have seen under 2.5 goals in their last five matches against Cadiz in all competitions.

Betting Tips

As said earlier, Cadiz stunned Real Madrid last time they were in the capital, but they’ll need a massive amount of luck to secure a similar result on Saturday.

Atletico haven’t been that great, but they have enough quality to see off the newly-promoted side. (Atletico Madrid win)

Atalanta Vs Inter Milan (Serie A): Both teams had a disappointing result in their Champions League games with Atalanta losing 5-0 at home to Liverpool while Inter Milan suffered a 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium.

Just one point separates both teams on the table with Atalanta sitting in fourth place with 12 points from six games while Inter have 11 points from the same number of games.

Match Facts

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Atalanta’s last six games (Serie A).

Inter have scored at least two goals in eight of their last nine away matches (Serie A).

Inter are undefeated in their last nine away matches (Serie A).

Betting Tips: Inter Milan may just be a point behind their host, but it has been an unconvincing start from Antonio Conte’s men. Atalanta started the season well, but their level appears to have dropped in recent matches.

Nonetheless, it should be an exciting encounter with Atalanta the slight favourites. (Atalanta win or over 2.5)

Other Selected games

Valencia vs Real Madrid (Both teams to score or over 2.5)

Manchester City vs Liverpool (Over 2.5)
