Ahmed Musa Rejoins Kano Pillars For A Short-Term Deal:: All Nigeria Soccer

Goals and assists aside, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a little bit of reunion in sports.

On April 13, Kano Pillars officially confirmed that former Leicester City star and current Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has made a comeback to the Sai Masu Gida for the remainder of the 2020-21 NPFL.

Due to the delay caused by the unfortunate COVID-19, the season started late and is now almost halfway through. Musa’s entry is right on time as Kano Pillars’ 36 points and 19 matches are on par with the Kwara United.

The latter leads the league rankings owing to the 13 GD (goal difference) points, whereas the former has seven.

While the 28-year-old’s return is one of the most exciting Sportsbet news in Nigeria, it has been cleared to the public that part of the signed short-term deal is his indefinite stay.

The contract includes a clause allowing him to leave when and if he can find a club in Europe.

Hopefully, it won’t be any time soon because he refused to deny or confirm the circulating offers from England, Russia, and Turkey.

He has been a free agent since leaving Saudi Arabian Al-Nassr F.C. in October 2020.

A two-way plan

The plan was first proposed by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Shehu Dikko, the governor of Kano City and the chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), respectively.

The latter stood as the mediator to the deal between Kano Pillars and Musa.

One way or another, it was also his 18 goals that brought Kano Pillars to the championships in 2009 before moving to VVV-Venlo in the Netherlands, thus the beginning of his fruitful overseas career.

On the other side of the party, seasoned media officer Rilwanu Idris Malikawa shared that the club family are happy to welcome him back. They even wished him protection under Allah’s guidance.

Success overseas

Musa also made a good run before joining Al-Nassr. During his deal with the VVV-Venlo, Goal.com rated him among the Hot 100 Young Football stars in the World to Watch in 2011. His longest course, however, was with CSKA Moscow.

Played from 2011 to 2016 and loaned in the 2017-18 season, he accrued a total of 48 goals in the Russian Premier League.

Then on July 8, 2016, he joined Leicester City with a palpable club record of £16.6 million.
