CBN Disbursement Of Intervention Funds Begins. » Voice of Nigeria

Check Now: Disbursement Of N6.5 Billion CBN Intervention Funds Begins.

The disbursement of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s N6.5 billion Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund (MSMEDF) has started in Osun State on Wednesday.

It is reported that 31888 businesses have been identified as beneficiaries.

The governor of Osun State, Goboyega Oyetola, flagged off the disbursements at Freedom Park in the state capital Osogbo.

The intervention amount is being distributed jointly by CBN and the Osun government’s micro-credit agency, he added.

Since assuming office, we have focused on improving the performance of MSMEs, apart from our strategic investments in transforming agriculture, tourism and mining sectors. This is because we believe that a viral MSME space holds unlimited opportunities for our state.

“We are convinced that when there is greater access to funding, requisite infrastructure, an enabling environment devoid of common limitations and a political will to drive the requisite policies, our MSMEs will have the right to spread their wings and take flight. We have worked on all these with full gusto since we took over.

“Apart from the influx of new businesses and the significant growth of existing ones, there is no greater comfort that confirms the remarkable progress that we are recording such as the unprecedented growth we have recorded in the Ease of Doing Business Index.

“We are fully committed to working hard with all of you in our quest to make our state an important business destination,” Oyetola was quoted as saying in a statement posted on Facebook by state information commissioner Funke Agbemod. Huh.”

Oyetola advised eligible small business owners in the state to approach Osun Micro-Credit Agency for possible enrollment in the next tranche of MSME Development Fund.
