Students from Nigeria who wanted to study abroad have had to deal with more and more uncertainty about their plans. Students are having to put their plans to study on hold because of yet another currency crisis.
Nigerian students can take advantage of a lot of grants and scholarships that help them pay for school.
Most of these international scholarships are aimed at Europe and are open to students from both EU/EEA countries and countries that are not in the EU/EEA. Still, it’s best to check with the university to see if your course meets the requirements and is eligible.
To make your life easier, here are some international scholarships for Nigerian students for which you can still apply in 2023:
University of Twente Scholarship (UTS)
The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is available to students from EU/EEA countries and non-EU/EEA countries who want to take an MSc program in Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, European Studies, Nanotechnology, or Psychology.
There are 50 scholarships, and each one is worth between 3,000 euros and 22,000 euros (US$3,117.78 and US$2,2863.72 at the time this was written).

The King Carl Gustaf Scholarship
The King Carl Gustaf Scholarship provides complete tuition coverage for master’s degree programs at Uppsala University. It strives to assist pupils living in hazardous and perilous situations in conflict-affected or disaster-stricken regions. Applicants would be required to demonstrate why they are vulnerable to the scenario and their academic ability.

Radboud Scholarship
The Radboud Scholarship Programme gives non-EU/EEA students partial subsidies to study an English-taught master’s degree at Radboud University.
There are up to 26 Radboud Scholarships available in the following faculties: Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Nijmegen School of Management, Faculty of Philosophy, Theology, and Religious Studies, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Social Sciences.
Award winners will only have to pay 2,314 euros ($2,404.85) instead of 16,000 euros ($16,628.16) in tuition fees. The scholarship will also pay for your visa, residence permit, health insurance, and liability insurance while you are in the Netherlands.

Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme (ESOP)
Nigerian students who want to get their master’s degree at ETH Zurich might want to apply for the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP). The scholarship is worth 12,000 Swiss francs ($12,688.22) per semester. The ETH Foundation also helps you find a mentor and gives you chances to build your professional network.

Danish State Tuition Fee Waivers and Scholarships at Roskilde University
Students from outside of the EU/EEA who need help with money can apply to the Danish institution for tuition fee waivers and scholarships.
The scholarship is only given to people who are applying to these programs: Master in Environmental Science, Master in Global and Development Studies, Master in International Politics and Governance, Master in Media and Communication, Master in Nordic Urban Planning Studies, and Master in Computer Science.
Since there are only so many tuition fee waivers and scholarships available, applying for this one doesn’t guarantee you’ll get it. It’s not based on need, but on how well you’ve done in the past. This means that your grades, work experience, and motivational letter will be taken into account more than your family or social background.
