Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, will soon be released from detention by Benin Republic authorities.
Naija News reports that this was made known on Saturday by Abuja-based human rights lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi.
Recall that Sunday Igboho was in July 2021 arrested alongside his wife, Ropo, at an airport in Cotonou while trying to board a plane to Germany.
The secessionist agitator has been in detention after a Benin Republic Court frustrated Nigeria’s government plans to extradite him.
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Engineer Segun Oni, has dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Naija News reports that Oni was first-runner up in the just-concluded governorship primaries of the PDP held in the Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The former governor lost the primaries to Ayodele Fayose’s anointed aspirant, Bisi Kolawole, who emerged as the party gubernatorial candidate.
This new platform earlier reported that the ex-Governor may join the All Progressives Grand Alliance (AGPA) to contest the governorship poll.

Recall that 121 pupils were kidnapped by bandits in July 5, 2021, at the school premises along the Kaduna-Kachia highway, Damishi, in the Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
The bandits had released 120 of the pupils in batches, with only one left, Naija News reports.
A former campaign spokesman for ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Kassim Afegbua, has called on the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2019 general elections to rest after vying for the position for 24 years.

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has said the Presidential Villa cannot wait to have the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and wife, Senator Remi Tinubu.
The aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State made this known in a post via his official Facebook page on Saturday.
Igbokwe added that Abuja, which is the seat of power in Nigeria, must not be allowed to miss Tinubu and his wife.
Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido has submitted that zoning the 2023 presidency is not a progressive idea and he doesn’t support it.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain added that zoning does not allow the emergence of the best candidate and should not be encouraged.

The Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, has regained his freedom after he was released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
