The presidential campaign council list of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been released with several notable names of party chieftains missing.

Naija News reports that the 422-man list released on Friday night include APC governors, ministers, lawmakers, ambassadors, and actors as well as serving and past public office holders.

The list released to newsmen was signed by the Presidential Campaign Council Secretary, James Faleke.

According to the list, Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, was retained as Director-General as well as Deputy Director-General (Operations), Adams Oshiomhole, and Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga.

Those surprisingly included are former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Those missing include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba and one of Tinubu’s top ally, Adebayo Shittu.

The Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government reportedly hired a United States firm to recover illicit funds allegedly traced to the account of the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

According to a report on The Cable, Buhari’s administration also engaged the same firm to retrieve funds from the accounts of former Ekiti governor, Ayodele Fayose and former Minister of Defence, Ambassador Musiliu Obanikoro.

A memo marked HAGF/AABIOLA/USA/2021/VOL.1/1 — and dated May 31, 2021 — revealed that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, engaged Akib Abiola as the lead recovery agent to recover the funds on behalf of the federal government from Atiku.

AGF Malami, in the letter of engagement, disclosed that the stolen assets are currently under forfeiture proceedings.

He also stated that the accounts belonging to Atiku, Fayose and Obanikoro were located in the United State of America.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has given clarification as to why Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s name was not included in Bola Tinubbu’s presidential campaign council.

Naija News reports that APC ahead of the 2023 general election released a list containing 422 names of notable individuals as members and department heads in Tinubu’s presidential campaign council.

There were, however, reactions and a series of speculations as Osinbajo’s name was missing from the list.

Recall that Osinbajo was among those that challenged Tinubu for the APC presidential ticket months ago when the party conducted its national convention.

However, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who came second in the primaries, made it to the party’s campaign list which has generated a barrage of reactions.

The Nyesom Wike-led Rivers State Government has denied saying that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu offered him a senatorial ticket.

Wike in a statement on Saturday through his Special Assistant, Media, Kelvin Ebiri, clarified that there was no time during his media chat on Friday he made such a statement.

Ebiri berated some national dailies and online newspapers for allegedly fabricating such reports in an interview that was aired live on four television stations.

He said: “We wish to state emphatically that this news is false, baseless, and ludicrous as the Rivers State governor throughout the media chat never mentioned the name of the APC presidential candidate or alluded to him offering him a senatorial ticket.

“To lay the facts bare, we have decided to include herein the transcript of what governor Wike said concerning senatorial form.

“‘First of all, this is how you know those who are prepared to run an election. Some of them collected presidential form at the same time collected senatorial form. You’ll know that those people are not serious to run.

“‘I never collected senatorial form. Even after the whole thing, people said come and go for Senate, I said no. I won’t do that. I’ve already made a commitment that this Senate ticket should be zoned to this area (Etche) because they’ve never had it before. I must not be in power.”

Recall that Wike during the media chat claimed that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu offered him a senatorial slot.

Wike also revealed things the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar promised him during their meeting in London.

The Rivers State governor pointed to why he has been insisting on the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu to resign from office.

A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and other aggrieved party members of trying to frustrate the presidential candidate of the party, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

He stated that Wike, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Olabode George, do not mean well for the opposition party.
