Members of the National Assembly will not be resuming on January 26, 2021, as earlier scheduled.
In a statement on Saturday by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Arc. Ojo Amos, the Assembly will now resume on Tuesday, February 9, 2020.
He said the deferment of resumption was to enable lawmakers, who are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to partake in the party’s membership registration and revalidation exercise scheduled to begin on Monday 25th January 2020.
A device suspected to be explosives has gone off killing one person and injuring 11 others in Galadimawa town of Fatika District in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It was gathered that the explosion occurred around 4 pm, on Friday, causing pandemonium in the Kaduna village.
Speaking to Daily Trust, an eyewitness, who narrowly escaped the explosion, said the device went off a few meters from a police outpost.
According to the eyewitness, he would have died or found himself critically injured in the blast.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has ordered the arrest of Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho over the quit order issued to Fulani herdsmen in Oyo State.
The Cable reports the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Garba Shehu was quoted by BBC Hausa on Friday to have confirmed the arrest order.

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has been urged to take swift action to tackle insecurity issues in the state as gunmen again killed no fewer than thirty-five people in a fresh attack.
Naija News understands Dutsin Gari, Asha-lafiya, Rayau, Munkuru, Mahuta and Talli, all communities of the state were attacked during the weekend by yet to be identified gunmen.

The Rivers Government on Friday dismissed reports that it has ordered the closure of primary and secondary schools in the state over the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The government dismissed the report in a statement issued on Friday in Port Harcourt by the Commissioner of Education, Prof. Kanye Ebeku.

United States talk show legend and former CNN anchor, Larry King, has died at the age of 87.
Recall that Larry King had in late December 2020, tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus (COVID-19) and was hospitalized.
The 87-year-old was hospitalized at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, US.
But in a statement on his Twitter handle on Sunday, the death of the legendary presenter was announced.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has announced the immediate recall of his Chief of Staff, Dr. Anthony CB Agbazuere.
Recall that Ikpeazu had suspended Agbazuere after an undated video emerged online showing him (Agbazuere) spraying money on controversial clergyman Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere alias Odumeje.
