Top five dual-eligible youngsters eligible for the Super Eagles including Arsenal, Chelsea, Celtic players

 Nigeria is blessed with a plethora of football talents and that has contributed to its status as a giant in African football.

 

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are a force to reckon with in world football, having produced stars like Nwankwo Kanu, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, John Mikel Obi and most recently Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and many more.

 

The Nigeria Football Federation in the past have successfully convinced players with dual nationalities to play for Nigeria.

 

Players like Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Victor Moses, Calvin Bassey, Maduka Okoye, Leon Balogun, Ademola Lookman, William Troost-Ekong, Joe Aribo are amongst the long list of players who opted to play for Nigeria ahead of other nations.

 

Alllnigeriasoccer.com presents a list of top five youngsters with dual nationalities who could add quality to Jose Peseiro’s squad.

 

To be eligible, players must be aged 23 or under and must have made at least fifteen first team appearances.

 

1) Carney Chukwuemeka (Chelsea FC): The midfielder is eligible to play for Nigeria, England and Austria. 

 

Chukwuemeka is capable of playing as a central midfielder or an attacking midfielder.

 

The Chelsea newbie has not featured for the Blues this season but has shown what he’s capable of doing in senior football with Aston Villa.

 

2) Moritz Jenz (Glasgow Celtic): Jenz was born in Berlin and is eligible to represent the Die Mannschaft of Germany and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

 

The 23-year-old who’s a center half by trade is having a season to remember with the Hoops, scoring two goals in eight appearances.

 

3) Folarin Balogun (Arsenal, on loan to Reims) : A popular figure in England, Balogun is eligible to play for Nigeria, his country of birth United States and England.

 

The Arsenal Loanee is having a fantastic campaign in the French topflight, scoring five and assisting one in eight matches.

 

4) Lesley Ugochukwu (Rennes) :  Ugochukwu is a youth international for the French national team and plays for Stade Rennais in the French topflight.

 

The 18-year-old is a combative midfielder by trade. He has played four times this season for his employers.

 

5) Destiny Udogie (Tottenham Hotspur, on loan to Udinese) : A youth international for Italy but is also eligible for the Super Eagles.

 

The Spurs loanee would be a great addition to Jose Peseiro’s team, fighting for a spot in the left hand side of the defense.
