The Madness Chronicles – Episode 14

In this, our 14th episode of the Madness Chronicles, we’ll take a look at the madness of the Democratic Party choosing Joe Biden for President. Remember, madness is a state of being mentally ill, especially severely, extremely foolish behavior, and a state of frenzied or chaotic activity. Let’s take a look at Mr. Biden.

A decade ago this month, in 2010, then Vice President Biden briefly mourned the death of the Irish Prime Minister’s mother, even though she was very much alive. It was a St. Patrick celebration, so maybe he was spirited? Following his ‘win’ last week in the South Carolina primary, Sleep Joe, as they call him, addressed followers at a victory celebration. He began by introducing his sister as his wife and his wife as his sister. Is that Presidential? Maybe we shouldn’t jump to conclusions?

On the campaign trail last August candidate Biden said, “I want to be clear: I’m not going nuts.” That was his response when he struggled to identify the location of a speech he had just given. Later that week while campaigning in New England more doubt crept in. “What’s not to like about Vermont?” Biden asked. Well nothing really except he was in New Hampshire. While on the stump in Iowa he confused Burlington, Iowa, with Burlington, Vermont. An honest mistake, I’m sure.

While campaigning in South Carolina, Biden told an audience, “This day, 30 years ago, Nelson Mandela walked out of prison and entered into discussions about apartheid.” At the time, Nelson Mandela was being imprisoned on Robbens Island off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa. Bidens story as reported by the New York Times claimed he was in Soweto, South Africa to visit Mandela and was arrested along with UN Ambassador, Andrew Young. Joe, ever the street talking tough guy, claimed he was arrested because of apartheid then practiced against blacks in that country. The only problem with his story, it isn’t true. Even Andrew Young told the media that he wasn’t arrested, and neither was Biden. Lying is undoubtedly extremely foolish behavior, but it wasn’t a first for Mr. Biden.

In New Hampshire, while fielding questions, he found one he didn’t care for. He called the lady who asked it, ‘A lying, dog-faced pony soldier.’ Whatever that might mean? Creepy Joe, as some call him, told another whopper along the same lines of Hillary Clintons exiting the helicopter under sniper fire tale. It seems Biden as vice president displayed great personal courage and heroism in traveling to a dangerous war zone in order to recognize the service of an American soldier who had distinguished himself in a particularly dramatic way. It was a moving story. “This is the God’s truth,” he concluded. “My word as a Biden.”

The problem once again is… it’s not true. The Washington Post reported that “Biden got the time period, the location, the heroic act, the type of medal, the military branch and the rank of the recipient wrong, as well as his own role in the ceremony.” The man who would be King lied about an act of military heroism in order to aggrandize his own role in the story. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. You would think when he was caught once he’d fly straight. Not so for good ole Joe.

The most questionable madness of Joe Biden is his lying about the death of his first wife. The tragic accident that claimed the lives of his 30-year-old wife and their infant daughter was, in fact, her fault. She had mistakenly run a stop sign and was T-boned by a tractor-trailer. The driver provided aid at the scene for his two small sons who were injured in the crash. Police records confirm this story.

But that doesn’t stop Joe Biden from cashing in on his grief. He’s been telling audiences for years, with tearful eyes, how an errant truck driver who ‘drank his lunch’ had crashed into his wife, killing her and his daughter. While the media challenged him along the way, he continued telling his tale. During his recent race for the Presidency, the daughter of the truck driver asked Biden for an apology for years of insulting her father. There is no record anywhere that he was humble enough to offer an apology to a man who did nothing wrong.

We, of course, have no way of knowing the mental state of someone or what motivates them. We can, however, decide based on a person’s actions. And Mr. Biden’s actions speak louder than anything he might say. What his behavior screams are that it would be pure madness to place this man at the controls of America.

May we wake from this madness before it’s too late. I wish you good health and until next time… have fun, enjoy life, and watch out for the madness amongst us.
