Strictly Come Dancing live – AJ Odudu giggles as her nephew tells partner Kai Widdrington to kiss her
HALLOWEEN is upon us once again, meaning only one thing: more spooktacular Strictly routines.
The ballroom show is famed for its Halloween Week, and BBC has confirmed excited fans should expect a spooky shake-up this year.
Strictly Come Dancing bosses said: “There are sure to be tricks, treats, and some terrific moves. Get yourself ready for one spooky Saturday”.
And the network took to Twitter with this earlier in the week: “Mwahahaha! We’ve got some frightfully good routines in store for our Halloween special”.
AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington danced a fantastic waltz and set pulses racing after her nephew told them to kiss.

ROSE INSPIRES THE YOUTH
The Eastenders star is the first deaf contestant on Strictly, and her visibility has done wonders for the community.
“It’s great to see inclusivity in TV shows and it may inspire a budding Deaf dancer to pursue becoming a professional dancer,” said 18-year-old Holly.
The young adult is a member of the National Deaf Children’s Society’s Young People’s Advisory Board.

TOP & BOTTOM
After getting a perfect score, it’s no surprise Rose and Giovanni are at the top of the leader board with a score of 40.
They’re followed closely behind by AJ and Kai on 37.
But at the other end is Dragons’ Den star, Sara Davies and Aljaz on 27.
While comedian Judi Love who is back after missing a week due to Covid is at the bottom of the table with a score of 23.

TECHNICAL MISHAP
Tom’s mic came off his costume as he headed to hear the judges’ critiques, but he handled it very well and took a handheld mic that a crew member brought over.
The devil’s in the details… because he’s also dressed as a devil… see what I did there?
-
HOT TOM ROD!
McFly’s Tom Fletcher picked up partner Amy Dowden in a very cool hot rod and revealed they’re dancing to some AC/DC.
He revealed he picked the song because his kids love rock ‘n’ roll.

LOVE THE THROWBACK
Comedian Judi Love has dusted off her missed performance from last week, which she couldn’t do because of a Covid diagnosis.
So she’s now doing an 80s zombie groove with pro partner Graziano.
People at home are loving the 80s throwback even if it not very ‘Halloween-y’
“Judi is just a joy to watch,” wrote one fan on Twitter.
Another added: “Here comes the zombie zumba for everyone’s delight.”
And a third commented: “Brilliant!!”

BUMMED OUT!
Shirley Ballas had some wise words for Olympic champion, Adam Peaty.
And that was to get his bum under control.
“It’s your derriere darling, you need to bring it under your body,” the judge said as she stood up to demonstrate.
-
GORDON RAMSAY!
We’ve been waiting for this moment… Tilly Ramsay’s famous dad, Gordon Ramsay sent her a message of support.
The famous chef praised her cha cha, but had some stern words for Tilly’s partner, Nikita.
“Do your shirt button up, this is a family show!” he warned.
Tilly cringed in embarrassment because he’s just her uncool dad — but to everyone else, he’s the scary TV chef.

10s ACROSS THE BOARD
It’s a score of 40 for Rose and Giovanni.
They got 10s from every single judge after their ‘evil’ tango.
They jumped up in celebration, after getting the earliest 40 in a season ever.
-
EVEN MORE CELEBRITY SURPRISES
Rose got another surprise this week as superstar musician Ed Sheeran sent her a message of support.
He hoped that her and Giovanni went across to the championship and won the series.
-
DADDY DANNY
It’s Danny Dyer!
The iconic turned up to the rehearsals of his onscreen daughter.
We’ve already seen the Eastenders star cheering Rose on in the crowd.
But he sat in her rehearsals and had a giggle when she took a tumble while practicing the tango.
-
THE LEADERS SO FAR
AJ and Kai lead in the scores so far with John and Johannes not so far behind.
But it’s time for season favourite Rose Ayling-Ellis to step up with Giovanni Pernice.
The bookies have the Eastenders star as the frontrunner to hold up the glitterball this year
-
MOTHER OF DRAGONS
In a very clever reference to her gig on Dragons’ Den, businesswoman Sara Davies is dressed up as ‘the Mother of Dragons’ – Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones.
Dancing in the couple’s choice with Aljaz, they stormed around to ‘Queen of the Night’ as Sara served a very fierce Khaleesi.

END OF THE WORLD
The paso doble is the perfect dance for Nancy and Rhys’ War of the Worlds themed dance.
They look very spooky as they twirl around the dance floor after showing off their acting chops in the dance intro.
Rhys looks very relieved to have pulled it off.
-
It’s all a bit confusing
Last weekend, Giovanni and Rose danced to Alicia Key’s emotional 1999 anthem Fallin’ and told a story of a stormy relationship.
Viewers at home they couldn’t help but notice the depiction of the tumultuous couple came after The Sun revealed the Strictly pro dancer and Love Island star Maura Higgins, 30, had split after four months of dating.
“Interesting concept considering gio just split with maura,” pointed out one fan on Twitter.
Another added: “Was Giovanni describing his relationship with Maura?”
-
SO SHELL-FISH!
BBC presenter Dan Walker and partner Nadiya are dressed as lobsters dong a paso doble.
They rolled over the dance floor to get to the stage for judges’ feedback, with Dan pointing out it was a….’lobster roll!’.

ON YOUR FEET
Kai and AJ just got a standing ovation for the waltz to Ariana Grande’s A Dangerous woman.
AJ played a dangerous Medusa and looked every bit the captivating villain.
Judge Anton Du Beke said she was “perfect”.
-
THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT
Trust kids to be honest, one of AJ’s nephews told her to “just kiss” dance partner Kai.
Given how steamy their dances have been so far, maybe we’re not far off seeing it on our small screens?
-
GHOULISH SCORES
Absolutely love that the judges score paddles are this week on the shape of a ghost.
Very cute attention to detail.
-
10s ACROSS THE BOARD
John and Johannes have scored the most 10s of the competition so far.
They pulled off a high energy quick-step and the judges are LIVING for it.
Shirley said John was “light on his feet”, but Craig called it “repetitive” before saying he “absolutely loved it.”
-
AND THE STARS OF THE SHOW ARE….
Every year the makeup and costume department do a fantastic job, but it really is on show during Halloween week.
They have outdone themselves this year with the sheer number of looks they’ve pulled off.
-
The OG Joker
Judge Anton Du Beke has strutted out dressed as the original Joker from the Batman comics and it has got a few people hot under the collar.
-
ALL THE CHARACTERS
Never thought I’d see Noddy dancing with Voldemort, but it wouldn’t be a Strictly Halloween opening number without some kookiness.
Other characters spotted were Darth Vader, Alice In Wonderland, The Joker, Pennywise the Clown and so many more.
-
JUDI’S RASPY THROAT
Comedian Judi Love sounds quite congested as she recovers from Covid.
The Loose Women panellist lost her sense of taste and smell, but has bravely returned to the dance floor.
Good work Judes!
