Rodgers Pleased With Leicester City’s Draw Against Manchester United –
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers was delighted after the Foxes were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United at the Old Trafford on Saturday.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s header was nullified by Fred shortly after the hour mark in Manchester, while James Maddison also had a winning strike disallowed via VAR later on for the Foxes.
A 1-1 draw remains an admirable result, however, and makes it five games unbeaten against the Red Devils.
“The performance, I was really pleased with,” the Northern Irishman told LCFC TV.
“I thought, for large spells, we dominated the game. We deserved to go in front.

“The ball comes in and they clear it and break away. Ki (Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s) determination to get back, make the challenge and make the pass to Madders (James Maddison). His cross is unbelievable, off his left side Kels gets across and made a good finish.
“We didn’t have too many scares. I’m just disappointed we gave the goal away so soon after scoring, but they showed a mentality to get playing again.
“We scored, for me, a really, really good second goal so I’m bitterly disappointed for the players that it wasn’t a winning goal. The ‘keeper makes a great save from Wesley as well. We feel a wee bit aggrieved to come away not to have got all three points.
“I think it should have been three points but I’m also very closely looking at our performance level and, for me, that’s what’s most satisfying.
“We’re getting to the level that I want us to be at. The rotation was good in the team, the movement was good in the team, we got into some really good areas… we’ve got to be tidier with our passing at times and that’s just sometimes experience.
“With experience, you make better decisions with the ball but overall, we’re getting our identity back again each week. I think the supporters can be proud of the team today and a little bit disappointed we didn’t win.”
