Paula Abdul was told by TWO different psychics about American Idol

Years before she would join American Idol, Paula Abdul was informed by two different psychics that the ‘juggernaut’ reality competition show was in her future.

The 60-year-old icon revealed that the predictions were so specific that she was even told about working with the likes of Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell on a ‘talent show.’ 

Paula, who has turned to psychics, mediums and spiritual advisors throughout her life, exclusively chatted with DailyMail.com to announce her new partnership with popular psychic platform, Psychics1on1.

The pop star and choreographer, who burst onto the scene in 1988 with her album, Forever Your Girl, admitted that she’s leaned on the advice of psychics throughout her decades long career to gain clarity about business moves.

‘I had been told by two different spiritual advisors and psychics that I’m going to end up doing a job – a show,’ Paula recalled. ’60 million albums is going to be nothing compared to a TV show that I’m going to be doing that is going to be a global success around the world.’

These spiritual readings happened three and two years, respectively, prior to getting the gig with American Idol. Paula was emphatic that she had no idea what these two different psychics were talking about at the time but said they were each very specific.

‘I was told the difficulties of the job and who I’d be sitting in between,’ she mused, referring to fellow judges Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell. Paula was told the series would be a ‘talent show’ and both advisors stressed that the show would be a ‘juggernaut’ that would ‘transcend generations.’

Abdul laughed thinking back because she said, at the time, her only reference for a talent show on television was Star Search.

‘Almost three years to the time that I got this advice, it all happened with American Idol,’ she reflected. ‘So it was, you know – it’s crazy.’

Paula signed on with American Idol in 2002 and served as a judge for eight seasons, helping usher in some of the biggest names in music like season one winner, Kelly Clarkson, and season four winner, Carrie Underwood.

Two networks and 20 seasons later, the psychics were right: the show is a global juggernaut and one of the most iconic reality shows of all time.

The pop star’s story about how two psychic predictions changed the trajectory of her life is part and parcel of her new gig as with Psychics1on1 alongside her longtime friend, Robert Earl, the founder of Planet Hollywood.
