What was the first court case about?

Lord Justice Warby ruled in February the publication of Meghan’s letter to her father was “manifestly excessive and hence unlawful”.

The judge said: “It was, in short, a personal and private letter.

“The majority of what was published was about the claimant’s own behaviour, her feelings of anguish about her father’s behaviour, as she saw it, and the resulting rift between them.

“These are inherently private and personal matters.”

Meghan was granted a summary judgment – meaning she won her privacy claim without a trial where she would have come face-to-face with her dad.

She also won most of her claim the publication of the letter breached her copyright.

A source told royal reporter Jack Royston that Knauf “left for personal reasons” after his partner took a job abroad.

He is now giving evidence as part of the Mail on Sunday’s Court of Appeal case against Meghan’s privacy suit.

Prince Harry continued to take aim at the British media saying they knew they were spreading lies but did not care.

He also responded to a recent study by BotSentinel that found 70% of hate filled message on social media about the couple was generated by just 83 Twitter accounts, according to the Guardian.

He said: “Perhaps the most disturbing part of this was the number of British journalists who were interacting with them and amplifying the lies. But they regurgitate these lies as truth.”

Megxit is sexist, says Prince Harry

Prince Harry has slammed the British media saying using the term “Megxit” to describe the couple’s departure is sexist.

Speaking at an online event about disinformation organised by Wired magazine, he said: “Maybe people know this and maybe they don’t, but the term Megxit was or is a misogynistic term, and it was created by a troll, amplified by royal correspondents, and it grew and grew and grew into mainstream media. But it began with a troll”.

Megxit is a play on Brexit – the popular term for the UK leaving the European Union.

Meghan tried to help with official biography

Meghan Markle offered to help write Finding Freedom despite previously claiming she had nothing to do with it, court documents have sensationally revealed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have both previously denied having anything to do with the unauthorised autobiography.

But bombshell court documents have revealed that the couple authorised “specific cooperation” for certain topics on the book.

A witness statement from their former communications secretary Jason Knauf revealed that Meghan had an input on a series of topics that would feature in the book.

Mr Knauf has revealed that he sat down with Omid Scobie and Caroyln Durand in December 2018 to discuss Meghan’s chosen topics.

Daddy’s girl

Meghan Markle knew her “private” letter to her dad would leak and called him “daddy” so she could tug at the public’s heartstrings, bombshell court papers reveal.

The Duchess of Sussex, 40, revealed in a text to her former private secretary Jason Knauf she had been “meticulous” in her wording in the letter, the documents say.

A witness statement from Mr Knauf claims Meghan messaged him 2018 with an electronic draft of the letter where she asked if anything stood out as a “liability”.

The papers read: “She also asked a specific question regarding addressing Mr Markle as ‘Daddy’ in the letter, saying ‘given I’ve only ever called him daddy it may make sense to open as such (despite him being less than paternal), and in the unfortunate event that it leaked it would pull at the heartstrings.”

Meghan later text Mr Knauf again, saying: “Honestly Jason, I feel fantastic.

“Cathartic and real and honest and factual. And if he leaks it then that’s on his conscience.

“And at least the world will know the truth, words I could never voice.”

‘Bare tunes’

Idris Elba, 49, provided the musical entertainment at the couple’s nuptials at Windsor in May 2018 – and says that Meg, 40, took the reins when it came to song choice.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Elba said: “Meghan had sent me a playlist, so I knew what she wanted already.”

Elba, who has also performed for A-listers such as Madonna, admitted that the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was his most “high pressure gig.”

Royal experts have hit out at Prince Harry for staying silent over depiction of Diana in the new series of the Crown.

Prince William has critcised the decision to depict their mum’s famous interview with now disgraced ex-BBC journo Martin Bashir – but Harry has remained noticeably silent.

The Queen eats bananas with a KNIFE AND FORK

A former royal chef has revealed that The Queen has an unusual way to eat bananas.

Darren McGrady, a former Palace kitchen chef, has shared the method Her Majesty The Queen follows to stay elegant when eating bananas.

The Queen, 95, peels the thick, yellow fruit with a knife and fork, said Mr McGrady, who worked at Buckingham Palace for more than 10 years.

She would cut the top and bottom off, slice the skin away length-ways and chop it up into small pieces that would then be ready for her to eat elegantly.

The Queen employed the technique so to avoid looking like a “gobbling monkey”, explained the royal chef.

I predicted a riot

Prince Harry sensationally claimed he predicted the US Capitol riots and warned the Twitter chief about the deadly coup.

The Duke of Sussex said he told Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey the social media site was “allowing a coup to be staged”.

Twitter and other social media platforms – including Facebook – are now being investigated amid claims they enabled the bloody coup.

Harry made the surprising revelation during a RE:WIRED panel event on misinformation in the US.

He said: “Jack and I were emailing each other prior to January 6 when I warned him his platform was allowing a coup to be staged.

The couple believe that they run their companies in a way that they would appreciate if they were employees.

She said: “We are a small company and we have the policies we would like if we were employees.

“We have 20 weeks of paid leave, if it’s not being provided by the government at this stage you want to be a company doing it.

Context is Queen

Meghan has come under fire, according to senior royal sources, for “using her title out of context” with political lobbying.

Palace aides warned the Duchess of Sussex should “steer clear” of politics after she cold called politicians using her royal title and lobbied for paid paternity leave.

One palace aide described the intervention as “outrageous” while another told The Times: “As a member of the royal family, if you use the title, it means you steer clear of those kinds of things.

“Otherwise you’re using the title out of context and people will question your motive.”

The source added that the Royal Family has “no say” in American politics.

Meghan Markle wore a gold bracelet that’s designed to ‘ward off undesired energy’ during her NYTDealbook Online Summit interview yesterday.

The Duchess of Susex, 40, was seen wearing the gold-and-diamond Eye of Protection bracelet designed by Matthew Harris of Mateo New York.

The £1,108 bracelet description reads: “The Eye of Protection is a classic and essential piece which you will never want to take off.

“Ward off undesired energy with this bracelet and attract good vibes only.”

Polling for the presidency

Bookmaker Coral has cut the odds on Meghan Markle becoming President of the United States in the future to 40-1 (from 100-1).

Coral go 66-1 that she specifically wins the Democratic Nomination in the year 2032.

“Meghan doesn’t keep her passion for politics quiet and you definitely can not rule her out of running for office in the future. We go now just 40-1 that she becomes US President at any point in the future,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.

“The earliest it may come looks to be 2032, with odds of 66-1 on her being the Democratic Nomination for that US Election,” added Aitkenhead.

‘No Meg to stand on’ (continued)

Andrew Caldecott QC, for The Mail on Sunday, told the court that Meghan’s letter to her father “was crafted specifically with possibility of public consumption in mind”.

And he claimed Knauf will contradict her claim she never cooperated with Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.

Meghan is opposing Mr Knauf’s statement being introduced and has written a 23-page response.

Mr Caldecott told the court: “At about the same time the People article appeared — it is actually slightly earlier — the claimant cooperated with the authors of the book, later entitled Finding Freedom, through her communications secretary Mr Knauf in autumn and winter 2018.

“The claimant expressly denied any such cooperation in her pleaded case with one minor exception. That is now contradicted evidence of Mr Knauf.”
