Admitting her pregnancy was a surprise, she said: ‘This was a 100 per cent unplanned pregnancy, turns out everyone telling me tracking my cycle isn’t actually a 100 per cent form of contraception was indeed correct.’

Speaking about her fertility issues, which led her to freezing her eggs, Amy told her fans that it wasn’t a problem with falling pregnant but the longevity of her fertility.

When asked about her plans for her frozen eggs, she said: ‘Use them for 2nd/3rd/4th if we need to, if we don’t, donate them! It was never an issue with falling pregnant, it was more the longevity of my fertility.

‘For example my Prof said I had 2-3 years of good fertility left so I froze the higher quality, younger eggs!’

Amy also spoke about her plans to have a ‘huge’ family and said she wants to start fostering and adopting in her 40s.

She also revealed she had planned to start the process of having a baby by herself before meeting Sam and falling pregnant.

‘Deffo two, probs three, maybe four! I’ve always wanted a huge family and my absolute dream would be to start fostering and adopting in my 40s,’ she said.

‘I was happy to have a baby on my own and would have started solo IVF this November had I not met Sam! I think because I was chilled and not panicking that I met Sam!’

Elsewhere in the Q&A, Amy also showed her plans for nursery themes and revealed she has a long name of baby names – but remained quiet about what any of her favourite names are.

Speaking of her baby names list, she said: ‘Had one since I was about 17. A list of about nine girls’ names and seven boys’ names. My absolute faves. None of them feature on our agreed collaborative list. Apparently they’re all weird or dogs’ names.’

One fan also asked Amy if she was worried about her pregnancy because her and Sam have only been dating for 18 months, but the star insisted she isn’t ‘at all’ concerned’.

She said: ‘Not at all! We were talking about this the other night actually, feel like we’ve crammed 4/5 years of a relationship into the 18 months we’ve been together.

‘Lots of travel, lots of fun experiences, learning to live with each other’s habits. When IS the right time anyway?

‘I feel like sometimes people are like ‘if we haven’t broken up in X years we’ll move to the next level’, don’t live in fear people. Also we both knew quite early on this was a long-term thang.’

The former air hostess also revealed that she was getting lots of questions about why she had given up caffeine, and explained that she did so on her nutritionist’s advice.

She added: ‘I spoke to my nutritionist at the very very beginning of my pregnancy and got some personal advice (she’s been my nutritionist for three years).

‘Her advice to me was although you *can* drink caffeine whilst pregnant, if I *could* give it up that would be beneficial for me and the baby.

‘There are lots of studies around caffeine in pregnancy and it was something I felt could give up. Also, coffee is coffee, I have no idea what the hell is in coke (and I don’t wanna know coz I will drink it again when I only have myself to think of).

‘But whilst I’m providing someone else’s nutrition I’m trying to be as nutrient dense as I can.

‘That said, if you still drink it, amazing, if you don’t, also amazing. We’re all different! Also I love a challenge and it’s just another string to my ultimate sacrifice bow.’

The reality TV star also said she isn’t getting a doula – who help and support women through pregnancy – because her mother is retired and plans to help her.

Amy said: ‘If a doula is what I think it is (birth partner, night nurse, childcare provider, housework do-er, washing taker…) my Mum retired two years ago on her 50th birthday to prepare for being a Glam-ma so she is ready and poised!

‘When she had me, my dad would go to work at 8.30am and my Nan would come round at 9am so she’s ready to pay it forward! I am going to look into hypno birthing.’

Taking to her Instagram on the same day, Amy revealed her pregnancy to her followers with a slew of snaps of her and Sam posing with the ultrasound photo.

Captioning the shots, she said: ‘Mamma Mia. Here we go….

‘So as you may or may not have noticed we’ve been a little less active on here in the last few months, certainly a lot less drunken behaviour on Amy’s stories. In short, she’s either been asleep or nauseous.

‘Family is so important to both of us, it was a value that bonded us right from the start and we are so excited to become a family of our own in March. From a sober 30th, to a sober week long hen do, it’s been so hard keeping it a secret but we’re so happy we can finally share it all with you!

What is egg freezing?

Freezing allows women to store their eggs at a young age so they can be used in IVF when they want a family.

This gives them a greater chance of conceiving as the quality of the eggs they produce as they get older deteriorates.

But so far fewer than a fifth have a baby after using their frozen eggs, according to the fertility watchdog, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA).

It has an average UK cost of £8,000.

‘We’ve both had individual and collective worries over the years that this may not have been the simplest process or that it may not happen at all. Interestingly enough, we got pregnant unexpectedly because the app that was telling us the fertile window was SO out.

‘So much so that if we’d started trying in January as planned we probably wouldn’t have fallen pregnant as we would have been nowhere near the ovulation days! We were told earlier this year that if we hadn’t fallen pregnant within 6 months of starting trying, it would be straight to IVF. Life has a funny way eh!!

‘Big thanks to @loosewomen for having us today. We felt, as Amy’s talked on the show about fertility MOT’s, solo IVF, Egg freezing and even introduced Sam to the world, it was the only place to share the next step of our story.

‘Can’t wait to get back to connecting with you all now we don’t have to bend the truth anymore. As people who always strive to be authentic it’s been SO HARD.

‘Finally, we just want to say, to everyone who’s shared their journeys with Amy over the years when she’s talked about IVF/egg freezing/AMH, we will always strive to be as sensitive as we can, minimal moaning, we hope to always have a positive mindset.

‘The baby will be an addition to our pages as we share our lives, not the sole focus (Amy literally can’t wait to get back to 1am drunken stories. Right, let’s do this.’
