Anna then went on to say that because the celebrant she chose for the wedding in Greece is not officially recognised, she decided to actually marry Michael back home in Australia before they left.
‘On the 28th of April, Michael and I went to the registry office with both of our parents in Melbourne. Our dads were the witnesses. It was actually a very special moment,’ she said.
Anna detailed the process of getting married in the registry office in Melbourne, explaining, ‘It’s a beautiful old building.

According to the influencer, the couple was made to stand in front of their parents and say ‘I do’ in unison.
‘It was so awkward. Imagine your parents and your in-laws just staring at you and you and your partner are just standing there holding hands,’ Anna said.
Anna reflected that the entire experience at the registry office was overly formal and ‘too serious.’
‘It just felt too serious, it was giving me the ick a little bit,’ she said, before telling Matt that she and Michael could only bring themselves to do a ‘peck’ for the kiss at the end of the ceremony.

Earlier in the episode, Anna said that they were already in Greece for the ‘official wedding.’
‘By the time this episode comes out, I will be officially Mrs Staples. I will be married.’
Co-host Matt was astounded by the news in the pre-recorded episode: ‘How cool is that?’ he said.
‘And today, when this episode comes out, will be our recovery. We’ll be recovering from the wedding, having a little pool party,’ Anna added.
Anna became engaged to Michael in October 2022 and showed off her diamond ring
Anna revealed she’d was getting married on the Greek island of Corfu early last year, after getting engaged to Michael in October 2022.
Their wedding venue is part of a fully renovated nine-bedroom estate, where the bride and groom’s family and close friends are staying.
‘We put a deposit down on a wedding venue in Corfu, but Michael and I have both never been to Corfu,’ she said on her podcast in 2023.
The couple acknowledged a lot of people wouldn’t be able to attend their wedding due to the distance.
So an intimate engagement party for family and friends was held in April.
Anna and Michael are planning a large affair with up to 90 guests so those who can’t fly to Greece will be able to celebrate with them.
Anna said she had done a lot of research on Greece, and thought there would be heaps of suitable venues, but only a few caught her eye.
She rose to fame on season two of Love Island Australia, and won the show with Josh Packham but they split in December 2020.
