Josie Gibson says she’s more body confident than ever as she opens up about love life
THIS Morning star Josie Gibson said she loves her figure more than ever as she opened up about her love life.
The TV favourite – who has teamed up with Meridian peanut butter – who has slimmed from a size 20 to size 14, says she feels more body-confident and sexier after having her son Reggie four years ago.
Josie, 37, admitted life is all about striking the right balance and is not keen of fad diets.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Josie said: “I always try and look after my skin and use a really good skin care. I always live life to the max, I love to take full advantage of everything in life.
“I wish there was a new diet, I keep telling myself I’m going to do it, but I never get onto it.
“I think after I had Reggie, my little one is four-years-old now, I was instantly more body confident because your body has done something so spectacular, you can’t do anything but love it.
“It’s made a lovely little boy for me, and you can’t help but love it after because it’s so brilliant that my body was able to do that. After I had Reg I was always more body confident anyway whatever size.
“I think I honestly came into myself when I had Reg, more confident, I view myself more as a woman, and my career started off when I had Reg.
Speaking about the pressures of looking good on TV, Josie admitted: “Well I love having my hair and makeup done, everyone loves to look nice but do I feel pressure? No.
“I work for This Morning, and I know our viewers aren’t like that, we’re quite a real programme, I don’t feel much pressure.”
Opening up about her love life, the star admitted that she is currently enjoying her single life and said motherhood is the most important thing to her at the moment.
She said: “I never really chat a lot of people up, I just normally have a laugh and hopefully they like me, I’m not that smooth.
“I get home to a four-year-old, so I don’t want to have someone in the mix because my time is precious. If someone was in the mix now, it would eat out of my son’s time and I’m not on for that at the moment.
“I couldn’t do that dating apps because I haven’t got the minerals, I could not go and meet them, I’d be too scared.
“I just wouldn’t have the confidence to go and meet them if I didn’t know them and I like to know people who know people.”
The star said she is happily focused on her little boy Reggie and said motherhood has made her “strong woman.
“You do everything for your kids, everything I do is for him, everything I get is going to him and for his education,” she said.
“It’s made me a real strong woman.”
After shooting onto our screens on Big Brother in 2010 and winning the eleventh series of the reality show, Josie has forged a successful TV career, appearing on There’s Something About Josie, and she competed on Channel 4’s winter sports show The Jump.
But the star admitted she still has to pinch herself when she thinks about how far she’s come.
She said: “I used to get really bad imposter syndrome but now I forget that I’m on TV, but really I don’t even feel famous.
“I would tell my younger Josie self that everything will be alright and to not be heartbroken about people who don’t care, you’re just wasting your time, not theirs.
“I don’t panic about the future, ever since I was younger, even times when I’ve been out of work, I always knew it was going to be alright, I always felt that someone was looking after me.
“I’ve always felt something else there looking after me, and I’ll be alright.”
But the star said her close relationship with her This Morning co-stars has made her job a dream come true.
Speaking about her friendship with Alison Hammond, Josie said: “She’s got a magnetic energy, you can phone up Alison and feel like absolute crap, by the time you’ve got off that phone call you’re on top of the world.
“She’s so kind, she’d give anyone her last pound, she’s too kind to her detriment sometimes. I just love her.
“Alison is quite cheeky, Eva Speakman is an absolute legend, Carol Vorderman, she is really funny, a little bit naughty.
“I’m a bit obsessed with her, every time I see her, she just looks so sexy, beautiful woman.”
But the star admitted that she loves her role on the ITV chat show, saying she has the best of both worlds but would one day love her own chat show.
“I dip my toe into the sofa and then I’m out and about on location, getting to meet different people, but I think I’ve got the best job.
“One day maybe I’d like a Ricki Lake show, I’d love that, I’d have normal people on.
“I would love a double act with Alison Hammond, Vernon Kay he is so funny and so smooth, he’s salt of the earth, he has no heirs and graces.
“And Craig Doyle, very charming, he is like a fine red wine.”
The TV favourite may have her hands full at the moment after teasing that she could be the next Big Brother host.
“I love Big Brother, I have so much time for that show, it’s the best format,” Josie said.
“The one thing I say is that I hope they go back and give normal people a chance, so we can see people from all backgrounds and occupations.
“I think Alison Hammond would also be an amazing host.”
There’s no doubt the nation is feeling a little bummed at the moment, so Meridian has released a new scientific study revealing a simple way to significantly improve mood and cheer people, spoon.
Whether from the jar or with a loved one, leading psychologist Emma Kenny recommends that eating one spoonful of peanut butter offers the same chemical boost of serotonin as a 30 second spoon, thanks to the substantial protein content in the delicious nut spread.
Whilst we’re a nation of secret spooners – out of the jar – spooning is fun and something to be proud of, and as the research proves it’s good for us! Meridian is therefore releasing a ‘Permission to Spoon’ content series that encourages bashful Brits to cuddle more by providing ten ideas for fun and indeed quite unusual, spooning positions for people to try out.
Keen to spread the love, TV personality Josie demonstrates these ten different techniques to have fun spooning direct from the jar and of course, with a loved one.
Josie said: “When Meridan asked me to work with them I was over the moon.
“I got involved with this spooning campaign which releases all of these great boosting chemicals which is the same as giving someone a spoon. I always like to work with nice, lovely brands that I believe in and was very happy to be involved
“A Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond sandwich would be the best spoon ever; I love those girls.”
