Financially Independent Women Are Treated With Greater Respect By Men
Ex BBNaija housemate, Doyin David has come out to outline her reasons for not being able to marry and become a full-time housewife.
She recently had her say via her Instagram page, and fans have been reacting.
According to her, she is just not someone who can stay at home full-time because her spouse can just wake up one day and decide to leave her and their children behind.
Doyin added that financially independent women are definitely treated with greater respect by men.
Her words, “I WILL NEVER BE A FULL-TIME HOUSEWIFE. NUMBER ONE, PEOPLE CHANGE. WHAT IF HE [MY FUTURE HUSBAND] CHANGES? WHAT IF HE MEETS ANOTHER GIRL AND THEN HE STOPS CATERING FOR ME AND MY KIDS?
NUMBER TWO, THERE’S THIS LEVEL OF RESPECT THAT COMES WITH HAVING YOUR OWN MONEY LIKE WHEN YOUR PARTNER KNOWS YOU CAN PROVIDE. YOU DON’T NEED TO ASK THEM FOR EVERYTHING. YOU CAN HANDLE CERTAIN THINGS IN THE HOUSE. AND I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HAVE THAT RESPECT IN MY MARRIAGE.
AND THIRD, THERE ARE CERTAIN THINGS THAT ARE OUT OF OUR CONTROL. WHAT IF HE DIES? GOD FORBID. WE DON’T PRAY FOR THAT BUT WHAT IF HE DIES? HOW AM I GOING TO SUSTAIN MYSELF AND MY KIDS? SO, SUSTAINABILITY IS A VERY BIG THING FOR ME. AT LEAST, I WOULD HAVE A BUSINESS.”
WOW.

The first season of the show first aired on DStv Channel 37 from March 5 to June 4, 2006. In a twist to the game, two new contestants were introduced on Day 23, much to the excitement of the remaining housemates.
Ebuka, the most popular housemate for several weeks into the show and widely believed to emerge the winner was the seventh housemate to be evicted; many viewers blame the Joe’s Fan Club (JFC) for his eviction. Joe himself was soon evicted from the show.
Big Brother added another twist to the game on day 79 by cancelling the day’s scheduled nominations and making the housemates believe they will instead be evicted based on their performances on assigned tasks while in reality no more evictions were held and viewers began voting for the winner who turned out to be 26-year-old Katung Aduwak.
