Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- Manage the preparation of the company’s budget
- Correspond with various other departments, discussing organizations plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken
- Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
- Provide input into department’s goal setting process
- Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly/yearly, reports interpret information to leadership team while recommending further courses of action
- Update financial software with daily transactions
- Create cost analysis reports (fixed and variable costs)
- Process tax payments
- Support monthly payroll and keep organized records
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers and partners as needed
- Provide administrative support during budget preparation
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits
Requirements
- BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- At least 1 year work experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer or similar role
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, Wave etc.) is essential
- At least intermediate level MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
