EastEnders newcomer vows revenge after shock death on Albert Square
AN EastEnders newcomer has vowed revenge after their daughter’s death left Walford shocked.
Fans of the BBC One show were left shocked when comatose Debbie Colwell was shockingly killed by her husband Reiss as he battled with financial issues.
Now, someone has already begun to twig that all is not as it seems with Debbie’s death.
Debbie had suffered a stroke in the bath and as such had laid in a coma for years after doctors said there was little to no chance she would recover.
Initially devoted to her, Reiss made regular visits to the care home where she rested and even introduced new partner Sonia Fowler to her.
However, with Sonia now pregnant with his child and the costs for the couple continuing to mount, Reiss found himself falling into debt and unable to upkeep the costs of keeping Debbie alive.
Faced with the prospect of being left penniless with a child on the way, Reiss turned sinister as he opted to shockinly murder his wife.
He smothered and suffocated her with a pillow – instantly killing her.
Now armed with a killer secret, in today’s episode of the BBC One soap, Reiss has already begun to face mounting pressure.
In the episode, the police spoke to Reiss and Sonia to tell them that a post-mortem was being carried out which would determine her final cause of death.
Reiss was left looking shifty before the cops told him that he was now able to visit a lifeless Debbie in the mortuary.
He initially turned down the chance after being left guilty for ‘not being’ with Debbie “at the end”.
However, Sonia soon convinced him that it would only be right to spend time with Debbie one final time.
In the scenes, the pair spent some precious final moments together despite Reiss’ wicked ways in killing her.
Yet another dark twist occurred when Reiss lifted her engagement ring from her finger and pocketed it likely in a bid to scrape some more cash together.
As Reiss left the room, with ring in tow, he was confronted by his dead ex’s parents.
Actress Nichola McAuliffe made her first appearance as Brenda and instantly made her feelings known on her daughter’s death.
Alongside husband Hugh, played by actor Michael Bertenshaw, Brenda demanded answers about Debbie.
