Czech Republic vs Denmark LIVE: Schick goal – Euro 2020 score updates

48’: And the Czech Republic are back in the game, and Schick has his 5th goal of the competition! Vladimir Coufal’s teasing cross is met by Schick, who crisply flicks the ball into the net with his weaker foot.

A great start to this half from the Czech Republic. Game on!

46’: Second half kicks off, and Czech Republic have made two changes at half time. Jakub Jankto has come on for Tomas Holes, whilst Michael Krmencik replaces Masopust.

The Czechs have already tested Kasper Schmeichel at the start of this second half, with one of the substitutes already springing the Danish keeper into action.

Denmark two goals up and looking good for it, too. Their goal early on through Thomas Delaney was soft from a Czech standpoint, he was standing unmarked in the middle of the penalty box from a corner, terrible defending at this level.

Czech Republic did have their moments, Patrik Schick had one or two moments of nice skill, and had one shot blocked by a Danish defender. But Kasper Schmeichel has had very little to do in the Denmark goal in that opening half. Damsgaard has went close several times to add to the Denmark lead, but couldn’t take his opportunities.

The cross from Maehle for Dolberg’s goal was just simply brilliant. The outside of the boot technique was simply exquisite, and something just immensely satisfying about it. The finish from Dolberg wasn’t bad either, truth be told.

The Czechs need a new game plan for the second half, as they have struggled to create anything concrete. But as it stands its Denmark going into their first semi final since 1992.

40’: What a goal from Denmark, who make it two. Joakim Maehle’s outrageous outside-of-the-foot pass down the left hand side narrowly misses the head of Martin Braithwaite, but is met by Dolberg, who side foots the cross high into the Czech net.

But the pass from Mahele was exquisite. What a cross.

35’: A break from Denmark sees the ball land at the feet of Damsgaard, who runs into the box and fires his shot straight at Tomas Vaclik in the Czech goal. Denmark could be out of sight here in this first half, but still only the one goal separates the teams.

30’: The lack of fans in the stadium is really hurting the game. There’s little noise for anything the players do on the pitch, and the size of the arena means any noise travels upwards. It doesn’t improve the spectacle on TV.

28’: Martin Braithwaite should’ve done better, as he cut in off the right flank and charged towards goal, but his shot lacked composure, and he sliced wildly at it, sending it past the post. The Czech defence looks fragile every time Denmark attack.

21’: Czech Republic with a chance to get back into the game. Kaspar Schmeichel’s goal kick is poor, and lands at the feet of Lukas Masopust not far from the Denmark penalty box. Masopust cuts inside and slides a pass into the path of Petr Sevcik, but he couldn’t reach the angled pass.

But just a reminder of what they can do when given the ball.

17’: Another chance for Denmark, and this time it was the goal scorer Delaney who could’ve got his second of the game. Jens Stryger Larsen’s telling cross is met by Delaney in the middle of the penalty box, but Delaney lacked conviction in the strike, and almost hit it off his shin, and the balls goes wide.

But a real chance for Denmark, they could be out of sight here already.

13’: A real chance for Denmark, straight from a Czech corner. A long ball from Pierre-Emile Hoejbjerg finds Mikkel Damsgaard ghosting in behind the Czech defence, but the ball doesn’t come down to Damsgaard’s preferred level, and he struggles to get over it, and can only flick it past the onrushing goalkeeper, but the ball lacks the power to go into the net.

Could’ve been two to Denmark already.
