Can Nigeria Stop Liverpool's Mohamed Salah & Egypt in AFCON Opening Match on Tuesday? » Naijaloaded

Nigeria would begin their quest for AFCON glory as they get set to take on the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday evening.

The competition has begun in Cameroon on Sunday with the host Nation beating Burkina Faso 2-1 in the first match.

And already there are high profile games in the first round of matches especially with North African side Morocco facing up with the Black Stars of Ghana.

Nigeria vs Egypt is one of the biggest Match right now

The duel between Nigeria and Egypt will be very much up in the air for many reasons.

With Nigeria missing a couple of star players ahead of this competition coupled with COVID-19 cases, it will be interesting to see how they line up against the tactical astute Egyptian side.

North Africans are known for their match antics as we’ve witnessed in the past most especially in the AFCON showpiece.

Egypt has too many great talents 😢

And with the talent of Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal), Mohamed Trezuguet (Aston Villa) in the mix for Egypt, it promises to be a tough one for the Austin Eguavoen led Super Eagles.

While Mohamed Salah would be the arrowhead for this Egyptian side ahead of this all-important clash.

FC Porto silky defender Zaidu Sanusi has spoken highly of his chances against the in-form Liverpool man but it remains to be seen who gets the better of each other when they take to the pitch.

It would be a tough contest filled with mind-boggling expectations as Salah comes into this game on the back of his great showing in the 2-2 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League.

Can Nigeria really overcome its counterpart ahead of this tie?

Even when the memories of Salah’s electric performance against Chelsea defenders like Marcos Alonso and Trevoh Chalobah is still fresh in our memories.

All the same, anything could happen in this fixture in view of a possible victory for Nigeria though there is a level of uncertainty to the West African giants achieving this feat.

While Austin Eguavoen would hope to get it right with his formation and team selection for this occasion.

Even as talents like Kelechi Nwakali, Joe Aribo, Samuel Chukwueze, and Chidera Ejuke should inspire confidence for Nigeria however small it could be ahead of this encounter.

And Egypt themselves should be wary of these names mentioned above if they can stand a chance against this highly talented but depleted Nigeria Super Eagles side.
