Brian Laundrie search update – Parents agree to help with manhunt as sleuths speculate he may be in their garden

Two women who said they lived across the street from the Laundrie home hammered a sign in Brian’s parents’ front yard on Friday night.

The sigs reads: “Remember me? Gabby Petito. Roberta and Chris I once lived with you!”

‘EXHAUSTING ALL ROUTES’

Cops in Florida are fearing they’ve “exhausted all avenues” as they try to find the fugitive in the vast Carlton Reserve in Sarasota, Insider reports.

Josh Taylor, a spokesperson for the North Port Police Department, told CNN: “No campsite was found out there.”

Authorities have responded to dozens of alleged sightings since Laundrie was reported missing.

‘INTEREST IN THE DARK SIDE’

The fugitive wrote in an Instagram post that he and Gabby read the horror-satire novel Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk.

Lullaby, published in 2002, tells the story of journalist Carl Streator, who is writing an article about crib death when he notices a strange connection between the deaths of the babies and those of his own wife and infant.

He then finds out that his wife and child had died after he read them a “culling song” from a book.

Streator unintentionally memorizes the rhyme and becomes a serial killer who kills people over minor annoyances.

‘NOTHING’ TO INDICATE BRIAN WAS AT CARLTON RESERVE

North Port police spokesman Josh Taylor told NewsNationNow on Friday that they have found nothing to indicate that Brian Laundrie was there.

Taylor denied having found any campsite or personal items.

Other social media users were skeptical as they suggested the woman was pulling out a weed from the flowerbed.

Online sleuths bizarrely claimed they noticed a white-colored square pit in the garden, fueling allegations that Laundrie may be hiding in an underground bunker.

Again, there’s no evidence to support this claim.

FLOWER BED CONSPIRACY

Footage appears to show a woman, who sleuths claim to be Laundrie’s mom, gardening and working on one of her flowerbeds.

A man, who online detectives say is the fugitive’s dad, appears to be standing by watching.

Social media sleuths also wildly alleged that they could see a “hand” emerge from underneath the flower bed. There’s no evidence to support this claim.

One said: “That really looks like a hand in the flowerbed.”

BRIAN ‘DIDN’T TALK ABOUT GABBY’ DURING CAMPING TRIP

Laundrie returned to Florida alone – days after the alleged encounter in Wyoming and weeks after starting his road trip with Gabby.

Cassie Laundrie said she joined her brother and her parents on a camping trip in Fort de Soto on September 6 – 75 miles away from his home in North Port, Florida.

She said that her family stayed at the campsite for only six hours.

Cassie claimed that her brother didn’t talk about Gabby at all during the trip.

CASSIE CLAIMS SHE IS ‘LOSING HER PARENTS’ TOO

As she addressed reporters and protesters outside her home, Cassie said: “I am losing my parents and my brother and my children’s aunt and my future sister-in-law on top of this.”

Asked to clarify what she meant by losing her parents, Cassie responds: “They’re not talking to us either,” followed by “if I knew, I would say, I don’t know,” when asked why not.

CASSIE URGES HER BROTHER TO COME FORWARD

On October 5, 2021, Cassie Laundrie appeared on Good Morning America once again to urge her brother to come forward. She begged her fugitive brother to “get us out of this horrible mess” following the death of his girlfriend.

“I really wish he had come to me first that day with the van. because I don’t know we’d be here,” Cassie said.

“I worry about him,” she continued.

“I hope he’s ok and then I’m angry and I don’t know what to think. I’d tell my brother to just come forward and get us out of this horrible mess,” she concluded.

STATEMENT FROM BRIAN’S FAMILY

While the parents have not issued a statement regarding her death, the family issued a statement through their lawyer after remains seemingly pertaining to Gabby were found in Wyoming.

The statement read: “The news about Gabby Petito is heartbreaking.  The Laundrie family prays for Gabby and her family.”

Similarly, on September 14, 2021, the Laundries had previously said: “This is an extremely difficult time for both the Petito family and the Laundrie family.

“On behalf of the Laundrie family it is our hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is re-united with her family.

WHO ARE BRIAN’S PARENTS?

Brian’s father Christopher ‘Chris’ Laundrie, 62, and mother Roberta Laundrie, 55, are residents of Wabasso Avenue in North Port, Florida.

According to their tax documents, they own a 10,000-sq.ft property in the area.

On Friday, September 17 the North Port police went to Brian’s parents’ house to speak with his family.

According to Brian Laundrie’s attorney, the police went to the Florida home to remove items to aid in the search for him.

FBI announced two search warrants before declaring the Florida home as a crime scene.

WHEN WAS BRIAN REPORTED MISSING?

Brian vanished just days before Gabby’s body was discovered on September 19 at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, where the couple had been traveling together.

He drove back to his North Port home alone in Gabby’s van on September 1, a week and a half before her mother reported her missing.

Brian’s parents reported him missing on September 17 after they claimed he told them he was going for a hike in the Carlton Reserve.

But offering her advice to Laundrie, Gibson urged the fugitive to turn himself in.

“I wish somebody could talk to him because he’s not going to be happy living life on the run.

“I’ve seen people get away with things like murder for 30 years and it tears your guts out. It’s not the way you want to live.

“Of course, the alternative isn’t perfect. You’re going to have to go through trial, and things like that, but at least you get to tell your side of the story.

“There are punishments, lawyers and all that ugly stuff. But there’s peace, you can sleep and everybody can get closure.

“He needs to contact authorities and hand himself in peacefully. But as long as he’s out there it’s a tortured existence. It’s not a happy existence.”

BRIAN’S DISTINCTIVE FEATURES

Two distinctive and identifying features of Laundrie’s that he’ll find difficult to conceal, Gibson says, is his ears and his teeth.

“I went to dental school so I noticed that he has unusual dentition in his teeth. His maxillary lateral incisor pushes out at the bottom, just a little bit and it makes for a sort of uneven bottom edge of his top teeth.

“It really shows readily when he talks or smiles – he shows the bottom edge of those teeth.”

She continued: “Ears are also the most complicated object on the surface of the head – more so than eyes, lips or noses. There’s really nothing that can be done to change them.”

“About 90 percent of crooks on the run wear a baseball cap when they’re trying to get away or hide their features.

“[Looking at his social media] it’s clear he likes wearing ball caps. They’re also good for survival in the outdoors because they help keep you shielded from the sun.

“You could also safely bet that he’s probably wearing sunglasses. They’ve been used as a form of disguise ever since they were invented.

“And he even gets to wear a Covid mask all he wants without drawing attention to himself – and that’s a biggie to look out for.”

While Laundrie is balding, Gibson suggests Brian will also likely attempt to grow his remaining hair out, possibly even dying it to a brighter color.

“He should let his hair grow, but hair only grows about a third of an inch each month, so he’s probably got barely any hair grown out at the moment.”

In the meantime, Gibson says Laundrie will most likely be using items of clothing to shield his identity.

One thing she says she’d bet “a lot of money on” is that Brian is wearing a baseball cap.

One of the most likely alterations Laundrie has made is shaving off his beard, Gibson says.

“Because his beard and mustache are very, very distinctive, I believe he would’ve shaved pretty quickly.

“He’d be crazy if he didn’t shave because it would be so easy to spot him.

“[His beard is] almost an Abraham Lincoln on the bottom and the beard grows on the bottom edge [of his face]. It’s very thick and dark around the edge of his chin.

“He’s mustache also doesn’t get to the bottom of the lip at all. It’s pretty far away.”

“When you’re out in the open like that, you’re going to get a lot of extra sun to the point of suffering some skin damage. He’s likely to have a lot of redness or rosacea across his face, like sometimes how you see on a homeless person.”

Gibson also believes that Laundrie has likely lost a substantial amount of weight, somewhere between 10 and 15 pounds, “regardless of how much money he has on him.”

“He will have lost a bunch of weight,” she said. “Even if he’s got a bunch of money on him – it’s hard to eat when you’re on the run. It gnaws away at you.

“Life will be hard for Brian Laundrie right now. Very hard. And that will show in the form of weight loss.”

BRIAN LIKELY ‘LOOKS HOMELESS’

A famed forensic sketch artist has shared what she believes Brian Laundrie may look like now more than three weeks after he vanished amid an investigation into the disappearance of his slain fiancee, Gabby Petito.

Speaking to The Sun, Lois Gibson shared a series of sketches showing the potential changes to Laundrie’s appearance that the wanted 23-year-old may have either intentionally or unintentionally altered.

According to Gibson, who holds a Guinness World Record for the most ever identifications by a forensic artist, going on the run in the wild will have a series of specific effects on Laundrie’s appearance.

“I have my opinions” Gibson, who worked as a sketch artist for 39 years, said. “He’s trying to make it a survival thing, which is likely to involve camping.

Bertolino said: “Chris Laundrie is assisting Law Enforcement today in the search for Brian. Chris was asked to point out any favorite trails or spots that Brian may have used in the preserve.

“Although Chris and Roberta Laundrie provided this information verbally three weeks ago it is now thought that on-site assistance may be better.

“The preserve has been closed to the public and the Laundries as well but the parents have been cooperating since the search began.”

Bertolino added: “As to yesterday, we were just asked to be on standby as they were focusing in on certain areas.”
