Bella Hadid shows her support for her sister as she leaves Gigi Hadid’s apartment in New York

She seemed to throw her support behind her family by unfollowing her sister Gigi Hadid‘s ex Zayn Malik after he was accused of striking her mother Yolanda Hadid.

And Bella Hadid did her best to keep a low profile amid the controversy on Tuesday night when she was seen leaving her sister’s apartment in New York City.

The 25-year-old model traded out her haute couture ensembles in favor of a more anonymous casual look.

Bella went bra-free in a white top with thick crimson stripes at the top and bottom, and she stayed warm with a white zip-up hoodie over it.

She stayed on theme with a set of baggy acid-wash jeans and a cozy pair of fuzzy white slippers with powder blue socks.

The catwalk star spiced up the low-key look with several colorful beaded bracelets and necklaces.

She wore a slim pair of black sunglasses despite the late hour and had her brunette tresses tied back tightly.

Bella appeared to have been doing some work while in Gigi’s apartment, as she carried a slim laptop out of the building.

She was spotted heading out to a car and driving away.

The model has stayed silent during the ongoing turmoil between her family and her sister Gigi’s ex Zayn Malik, though her visit to Gigi’s apartment made her support for her sister clear.

The family recently closed ranks when both Bella and her brother Anwar Hadid unfollowed the former One Direction member on social media, as did Anwar’s girlfriend Dua Lipa.

Although Bella hasn’t explicitly referenced the split and allegations that Zayn attacked her mother Yolanda, she appeared to allude to the controversy in an Instagram Stories post from Thursday.

She shared an illustration of a naked woman watching a sunset on the beach with the quotation: ‘I can do nothing for you but work on myself. You can do nothing for me but work on yourself.’

Zayn and Gigi were reported to have split late last month amid reports that he had allegedly shoved her against a dresser during an argument on September 29 at the home he shares with Gigi in Pennsylvania.

However, it’s unclear if the breakup preceded the altercation or came in response to it.

According to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, the singer engaged in a shouting match with Yolanda, screaming, ‘Stay away from [my] f*****g daughter,’ and calling her a ‘f*****g Dutch s**t.’

So far, Gigi has opted not to comment on the alleged altercation in detail, though she released a statement on Thursday night.

‘Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time,’ her representative said.

Zayn later denied striking Yolanda — as an unnamed source claimed to TMZ — in a vague social media statement.

‘As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in.

‘A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart.

‘In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.

‘This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is a divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press.

‘I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves,’ he concluded.

Court documents reveal that Zayn subsequently pleaded no contest to four counts of harassment, and he was sentenced to 360 days of probation.

He’ll also be required to complete an anger management course.
