Before Voting, Consider Your VIEW Of America!
Today, we seem to be experiencing a period of time, when there is more strife, division, and polarization, as we have witnessed, in recent memory, and, perhaps, the larger amount of individuals, who seem to be, unwilling, to seek any common ground, in order to secure, a far greater chance at reaching, a meeting – of – the – minds, than, this nation has seen, since our Civil War! No doubt, there are several reasons for this, including, economic, racial/ ethnic, etc, but, much of this, may have been, brought – to – a – head, because of the unusual nature of President Trump, and, the way, he often seems, to appeal, to hatred and divisiveness, rather than bringing people together! Why do many, who oppose Trump, fail to be able to see, anything, positive about his leadership, while Trump supporters, remain committed to him, and nothing, he seems to say, or do, changes that? Wouldn’t it make sense, before voting, each of us, should, seriously, consider, our VIEW of what this nation stands for, has represented, is today, and what we hope for, into the future? With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.
1. Vision; values; value; vital; virtues: What is your vision, for the future of this nation? How important is protecting all the rights, freedoms, principles, and justice, for – all, this nation, has stood for, and represented? We must each, identify, our core values, and evaluate candidates, based on, who, might, be best, on bringing our nation, forward, and commits to the value of these ideas, as a central component, of his vital vision! Instead of voting, based on empty promises and rhetoric, and or, celebrity status, etc, consider the virtue and quality of their character, and, whether, they will serve and represent us, or focus on their personal/ political agenda, and/ or, self – interest!
2. Integrity; ideology; issues; ideals; ideas: Demand genuine integrity, before you vote! How well does any candidate’s ideology, align with that, our nation needs, and deserves? Are they ready, willing, able, and capable of addressing issues, and priorities, in a relevant, sustainable manner? Instead of considering personalities, focus on their ideals, and the significance, of their ideas!
3. Empathy; emphasis; excellence; efforts; enrich: It takes a leader, with genuine empathy, who will place his emphasis, on priorities, needs, goals, and perceptions, and demand their utmost degree of true excellence! Public officials must place their efforts, towards enriching their constituents, etc!
4. Where; what; why; wishes: Where do you want this nation, to be, in the future? What needs to be done? Why are you voting for any specific candidate? Are their wishes, and desires, focused on the best interests of their constituents?
Wake up, America, and before voting, seriously, consider your VIEW of what, this nation, is, and you hope, might be! Will you become a more responsible voter?
