Baywatch’s disgraced child star Jeremy Jackson says his crystal meth addiction caused him to ‘spiral down’: ‘My life slipped through my hands’

Baywatch’s disgraced star Jeremy Jackson revealed that his addiction caused him to ‘spiral’ down.

The child actor, now 43, who played played Mitch Buchannon’s (David Hasselhoff) son Hobie on the series from ages 10-19, took part in the new Hulu docuseries, After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun.

At one point he recalled an interaction with his onscreen father: ‘I remember David saying “Are you smoking pot or something?” And I was [thinking] like, “Jesus, they think I’m smoking pot?” I could never tell them the truth. What would they think?’

‘When you haven’t slept for five days and you’ve been smoking crystal meth, having somebody look you in the eyes and say “Dude, are you okay?” is like the worst thing that can happen.’

‘I was spiraling down for sure,’ the actor — who also revealed he performed a horrifying act with his female co-stars’ swimsuits — said, adding, ‘My life slipped through my hands like sand.’

He also said he’s in ‘remission’ today, in an interview with People.

‘[When people ask] “am I in a good place,” they mean am I still sober. It’s a huge mistake people make with “good and bad,” when drug addiction and alcoholism is a case of mental sickness, not about morality fortitude or personal character and virtue.’

‘I am in remission from the chronic, fatal and progressive disease I was once plagued with? “Yes, thank God. Yes, I am.”‘

The actor also stated that addiction had ‘tangled me all up in knots.’

‘But how satisfying is it when you finally get that tangle out. Thus I am untangled, and that was the past, so today I am satisfied.’

When asked about his decision to participate in the documentary, which delved into difficult aspects of his past, he expressed gratitude for the individuals involved in the project.

‘My life is an open book anyway. I always say we are only as sick as our secrets.’

‘But my “why” was for others. [Producers] Matt Felker and Nicole Eggert had a vision and a passion… There was no question about being involved for me.’

Jackson also shared that he and Hasselhoff have remained close.

‘Ole DH and I speak lots and hang here and there still,’ he told People about his ‘homie’ Hasselhoff.

In the documentary Hasselhoff also admits their connection was instant, from the moment Jackson auditioned for the part of his son.

‘I fought for him,’ Hasselhoff recalled, referring to Jackson, who was competing against a rising star, Leonardo DiCaprio, for the role.

It comes after Jeremy revealed he performed a horrifying act with his female co-stars’ swimsuits in a shock confession.

He admitted he would smell his co-stars’ dirty swimsuits after a day of filming.

Jackson – whose co-stars included Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra and Nicole Eggert said: ‘I would usually sneak into [the women’s] trailers after they were done and grab their dirty bathing suits.

‘Let’s just say I smelled every [bleep] on Baywatch. And Nicole [Eggert] was the big one, for sure. We had a very intimate moment, her and I, that she never knew about.

Producers then told Summer Quinn star Eggert, 52, who is battling stage 2 breast cancer – who responded: ‘I knew Jeremy very well, this surprises me not at all.’

Jackson recently made a rare red carpet appearance at the premiere of the Baywatch documentary on Monday in LA.

This comes after he began serving time behind bars in 2017 following his agreement to a plea deal for allegedly stabbing a woman in Los Angeles in 2015.

That same year the former Baywatch star was booted from Celebrity Big Brother in the UK for exposing fellow housemate Chloe Goodman’s breast.
