Job Title: Humanitarian Access & Security Head of Department in Borno
Action Against Hunger, a leading humanitarian and development organization, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Humanitarian Access & Security Head of Department in Borno.
Job Location and Salary
The position is located in Borno and comes with a monthly salary of N1,175,742.
Requirements
To be eligible for the position, you must have:
- An academic degree in Security, International Relations, Humanitarian Program Management or Logistics positions
- Experience in volatile and stressful environments
- Demonstrated capabilities in planning, organizing and executing humanitarian security operations with a clear understanding of the humanitarian principles, code of conduct and specific sub-sector role linked to NGO field and operations contexts
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and reporting skills
- Good communication skills and a good knowledge of various local, regional, country and international policies on safety and security
- Knowledge of communications technology, including, satellite communications, cell phone mediums, etc, is an advantage
- Proficiency in English (both verbal and written)

Job Title:: Consultant for Final External Evaluation of Emergency Assistance and Early Recovery Project
Action Against Hunger is seeking a Consultant for the Final External Evaluation of their Emergency Assistance and Early Recovery Project in Yobe and Borno. The evaluation will follow the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) criteria, as well as Action Against Hunger’s Evaluation Policy and USAID/BHA Evaluation Guideline.
Geographical Scope Covered by the Analysis: The evaluation will cover all intervention locations of the project in Borno State and Yobe State, namely MMC, Jere, Konduga, Kaga, Magumeri, Monguno, and Nganzai LGAs in Borno State, and Gujba LGA in Yobe state in the Northeastern Nigeria.
Key Evaluation Criteria and Questions
The consultant will be expected to develop the evaluation questionnaire based on pre-defined evaluation questions organized by the OECD/DAC Evaluation criteria, including:
- Relevance: Did the intervention do the right things?
- Coherence: How well did the intervention fit?
- Effectiveness: Did the intervention achieve its objectives?
- Efficiency: How well were resources used?
- Impact: What difference did the intervention make?
- Sustainability: Will the benefits last?
Profile of the Consultant (Qualification and Experience): The ideal candidate for this position should have:
- Significant experience (5-8 years) in coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of emergency response programmes, and expertise in at least 2 relevant sectors (Food Security & Livelihoods, Nutrition, Health, WASH)
- Demonstrated experience of evaluating humanitarian response projects, with experience of evaluating BHA-funded projects being desirable
- Fluency in English and ability to write clear and concise reports (examples of previous work will be requested)
- Relevant Master’s degree/equivalent related to the evaluation to be undertaken, Ph.D. will be an added advantage
- Ability to manage the available time and resources and work to tight deadlines
- Understanding of BHA requirements as a humanitarian donor and specific requirements for this evaluation.

Action Against Hunger is seeking a Cash Officer for their operations in Sokoto.
Position Requirements:
To qualify for the position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or other related fields;
