Amy Hart has given birth to her first child with boyfriend Sam Rason.

The former Love Island star, 30, who starred in the 2019 series of the hit ITV2 show,  shared a sweet Instagram post on Tuesday after welcoming her bundle of joy.

Amy, who has been dating beau Sam for a year, gushed over her newborn as she said they were both ‘so so in love’.

She wrote: ‘Well…. 4 days of contractions at home (which everyone told us were braxton hicks…they weren’t), 4 very short hours in the delivery suite and 5 long days in hospital later, we are home with our dreamy baby boy!

‘Born at 3.31am on 3/3/23 weighing 8lbs with the most beautiful head of hair (Amy would take the 9 months of reflux again) and we are so so in love. Proper introductions to come but now we’re home safe and sound.

‘Thank you to everyone who sent their well wishes. We really appreciated it over the last few days. [here’s a few delivery room snaps, can’t wait to show you his beautiful, non post birth swollen face!’

She also shared a sweet snap of Sam holding their bundle of joy as he did skin to skin with him.

Amy announced she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Sam on an episode of Loose Women back in August 2022.

She explained that after sharing her fertility journey with the show in the past, it was: ‘the only place to announce I’m pregnant’, before taking to Instagram to release snaps of her baby scan.

Amy has openly documented undergoing three rounds of eggs freezing – two of which were successful and resulted in 12 eggs being frozen at a cost of £12,000.

However, she revealed that despite her fertility concerns she had conceived naturally, and that the news came as a surprise as it was ‘unplanned’.

She explained on the show: ‘I might need them in the future. It was never about not being able to get pregnant, it was more about the longevity of my egg reserve…

‘If I don’t need them, then I’ll donate them.’

She went on to reveal that the baby announcement has delayed plans for her marriage to Sam, as she doesn’t want him to propose while she is pregnant.

Amy quipped: ‘It’s the biggest day of my life and I want to be able to drink champagne!… I’m a control enthusiast!’

Taking to her Instagram on the same day, Amy revealed her pregnancy to her followers with a slew of snaps of her and Sam posing with the ultrasound photo.

Captioning the shots, she said: ‘Mamma Mia. Here we go…..

‘So as you may or may not have noticed we’ve been a little less active on here in the last few months, certainly a lot less drunken behaviour on Amy’s stories. In short, she’s either been asleep or nauseous.

‘Family is so important to both of us, it was a value that bonded us right from the start and we are so excited to become a family of our own in March. From a sober 30th, to a sober week long hen do, it’s been so hard keeping it a secret but we’re so happy we can finally share it all with you!

‘We’ve both had individual and collective worries over the years that this may not have been the simplest process or that it may not happen at all. Interestingly enough, we got pregnant unexpectedly because the app that was telling us the fertile window was SO out.

‘So much so that if we’d started trying in January as planned we probably wouldn’t have fallen pregnant as we would have been nowhere near the ovulation days! We were told earlier this year that if we hadn’t fallen pregnant within 6 months of starting trying, it would be straight to IVF. Life has a funny way eh!!

‘Big thanks to @loosewomen for having us today. We felt, as Amy’s talked on the show about fertility MOT’s, solo IVF, Egg freezing and even introduced Sam to the world, it was the only place to share the next step of our story.

‘Can’t wait to get back to connecting with you all now we don’t have to bend the truth anymore. As people who always strive to be authentic it’s been SO HARD.

What is egg freezing?

Freezing allows women to store their eggs at a young age so they can be used in IVF when they want a family.

This gives them a greater chance of conceiving as the quality of the eggs they produce as they get older deteriorates.

But so far fewer than a fifth have a baby after using their frozen eggs, according to the fertility watchdog, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA).

It has an average UK cost of £8,000.

‘Finally, we just want to say, to everyone who’s shared their journeys with Amy over the years when she’s talked about IVF/egg freezing/AMH, we will always strive to be as sensitive as we can, minimal moaning, we hope to always have a positive mindset. The baby will be an addition to our pages as we share our lives, not the sole focus (Amy literally can’t wait to get back to 1am drunken stories. Right, let’s do this’.

The news was extra special for Amy, as she has been open about her fertility issues in the past.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain last year, the reality star explained that she had her eggs frozen aged 27 after discovering she had a low ovarian reserve, and revealed she would donate them, if she ‘can’t use them.’

She spoke to hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, where she told them how early menopause runs in her family, and she didn’t want her family history or being single to ‘ever stop her having kids’.

Early menopause, also known as premature ovarian failure, is a loss of the normal function of the ovaries before a woman turns 40. It affects around one in 1,000 women aged 15-to-29 and one in 100 aged 30-to-39.

Amy explained that when she went to see a fertility doctor, and was told: ‘We’re not going to freeze your eggs if we don’t need to’ because of her age – but they ended up doing so as she had low ovarian reserve.

Asked by Ed Balls if she was planning to have 10 kids as per a previous interview, Amy – who has been dating beau Sam Rason for a year – laughed and said: ‘My boyfriend says no. And the professor also said no.’

Touching on the fact that successful egg freezing doesn’t guarantee a successful pregnancy later on, Amy mused: ‘With the chance thing – everything in life is chance – what certainties are there in life? I take chances every day, and they might work out and they might not.

‘I’ve known I’ve wanted to be a mum since I was a child. And I was in a position to do it [egg freezing], so I was like: ‘If it’s gonna help me… And if I can’t use them, then I’ll donate them!’

Amy found fame on the 2019 series of Love Island where she famously left the villa after getting dumped by her ‘half boyfriend’ Curtis Pritchard.
