Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has alleged that some people within the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari are sabotaging his efforts.
The Kogi State Governor said he has facts and figures to back up his claims, challenging anybody who thinks it’s a lie to show up and he will give proof.
Bello said these saboteurs are doing everything within their powers through their actions, utterances, inactions, and even silence to pull down the Buhari government.
He made the claim on Sunday when he played host to traditional and political leaders from Kebbi and Sokoto States at the Kogi state’s government lodge in Abuja.
The Kogi Governor lamented that its is bad enough that Buhari inherited a sinking ship in 2015 when he became the President of Nigeria, but it’s rather unfortunate that some people who should be helping his efforts to stabilize the ship are the very ones now trying to pull him down due to their selfish interests.
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja from the United Arab Emirates after participating in the Dubai Expo 2020.
Naija News reports that the President arrived in the country on Sunday afternoon and was received at the Presidential Wing of the Abuja airport by his Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, ministers and security chiefs.
While at the event on Friday, the Nigerian leader visited the Nigerian Pavilion at the Expo and received in audience prospective investors.
Speaking, Buhari said Nigeria remains the most viable and attractive investment destination in Africa, adding that the country is on the path of becoming the continent’s leading industrial and trading nation.
While on Saturday, President Buhari was the Special Guest of Honour at the Special Trade and Investment Forum themed ‘Unveiling Investment Opportunities in Nigeria.’
Following the discovery of the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says no single COVID-19 death was recorded on Saturday.
In a statement released on its social media pages on Sunday, the NCDC disclosed that 54 new infections were recorded in seven states and the FCT on Saturday.
According to the Centre, the newly recorded cases shows that there is a decrease of 143 from the 197 cases recorded on Friday.
The NCDC added that total COVID-19 infections recorded across the country now stand at 214,567. It stated that out of the 214,567 total national infections, 207,427 cases have been treated and discharged from hospitals.
Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has expressed sadness over the bombing of a 1000 Housing Estate in Maiduguri by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
Naija News recalls there was tension on Saturday morning in Maiduguri, Borno State after a massive explosion rocked a 1000 Housing Estate.
According to a video, some residents were seen discussing the incident in groups, while a large crowd was also spotted in one of the houses affected by the explosion.
Speaking during a visit to the scene of the incident, Governor Zulum asked the Nigerian military to wipe out all terrorists in the state and stop their activities in the North East.
He also urged the military to step up its operations and ensure adequate surveillance in the state. He wondered how the terrorists fired the rockets which affected several houses.
Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau has visited the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Naija News reports that the Senator representing Kano Central in the National Assembly visited the former Lagos governor in his Ikoyi residence in Lagos on Sunday, December 5.
However, political watchers said the meeting might be connected to Tinubu’s presidential ambition in 2023 and the crisis rocking APC in Kano.

The Lagos State Government has announced the release of the full reports of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and other matters.
A statement on Sunday issued by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), said the state government has released the online version of the reports.
He stated that the public can access the two reports titled: “Report of Lekki Incident Investigation on 20th October 2021” and “Consolidated Report on General Police Brutality” online.

The Department of State Service (DSS) has reportedly quizzed General Idris Dambazau over alleged economic sabotage.
Naija News understands that Dambazau, who is the Chairman of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) in Kano, has been accused of illegally sealing seven petrol stations in the state.
Speaking to Vanguard on Sunday, a DSS operative who prefers to remain anonymous, said Dambazau’s actions sabotaged the effort of the Federal Government in ensuring that there is no fuel scarcity during the festive period.
The operative added that the closure of the petrol stations did not follow due process and was above the powers of the office he is occupying.
The Lagos Police Command has sealed Dowen college following the circumstances surrounding the controversial death of a 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni.
This comes after spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu of the Lagos Police Command in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday said an investigation into the death of Oromoni has now been taken over by the Homicide Section of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
